  1. I noticed that a lot of role-players likes johnlock/sherlolly for OTP and their OC (99 % would be female)/Sherlock. Many times I wondered what attracted them to Holmes the youngest, is it the same type of attraction like many fans seems to harbor towards the leading male protagonist in their respective fandoms? Is it some sort of encoded in the (most) females genes to place themselves in the spot of at least potential love-interest of the main character? What might motivate them to do that, conscious and unconsciously?
  2. Probably because bulding aliases and alternate lives took a long time and after the Tbilisi fiasco she is no longer have the necessary resources to generate and maintain new identities, not without considerable efforts which might attract the wrong attention.
  3. Alicia Elizabeth [surname] or Elizabeth Alicia [surname]. I lean to the second version. :D this particular subject reminds me to yet another disappearing RP partner. Most who want a Sherlock to play with their female OC tends to be unable to handle the intensity that I eventually (always!) slip into therefore I am not even going to try to tempt the newcomer to try with another pairing. [grumbles]
  4. Her name card read, "Lady Alicia Smallwood." Personally I prefers Elizabeth, somewhat sounds more dignified.
  5. [grins] I am siding with Toby this time, wear make-up only when in professional setting (read: face powder, tinted lipgloss) and for the rest I prefers to be free from chemical gunk.
  6. Yes please. Better avoid Ao3's section of that particular pairing then, there are quite a number of fics of that nature on the list.
  7. It would make the series ordinary in my eyes. I read Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes books since still a child and thus any adaptation that is too faithful to the original is likely would not take my interest for more than very occasional re-watching. Certainly not to the point of being involved in the fandom like what I am doing right now. Besides, for me this Mycroft is way more interesting than Sherlock the supposed lead protagonist. ;)
  8. [snickers] Somewhat different from my usual fare of fanfics. Pseudonym, I was talking about the non-physical dynamics between them. Two mature, worldly people, imagine the verbal and non-verbal exchanges that could happen as each of them danced and prodded trying to read the other and might be steering the dynamics to their liking.
  9. It is in human nature to 'dismiss' things that doesn't seems to possess threat to their well-being and instead focus on those that displayed the opposite qualities. Vivian Norbury could fly under the radar because she exploited that loophole by pretending to be meek, unassuming and already proved to be loyal many times at the past and thus didn't give the others reason to focus on her doings. It is the same loophole used by every embezzler and traitor known in history, otherwise they would not be able to execute their plans successfully. Given their age, Mycroft and Sir Edwin might join the circle after the old members mostly had been phased out one way or another and those two were not exactly projecting the air of, 'I am harmless and obedient.'
  10. 1. Lady Smallwood said, "Mr. Holmes," when she was about to remind that they should proceed. If Sherlock was a regular attendant of such meetings and also part of the quartet it would make sense for her to have certain way to address Mycroft and another for Sherlock. 2. Before that we were treated by Sherlock's apparent lack of knowledge about Mrs. Norbury's name and when combined with the happening at the next episode where the latter was seen as accompanying Lady Smallwood to the security checkpoint it stands that Vivian Norbury was part of the four. Four people with more or less equal security clearance for certain affairs of the country. 3. Back to the beginning of this episode, take a look at Mycroft's speech about who actually know the truth instead of the doctored, official version of the Magnussen's murder. There are five people in that room, which one was more likely the outsider? 4. Later when Mrs. Norbury talked about her motivation to kill off A.G.R.A. together with the hostages she was talking about living in shadow. Was she talking about Lady Smallwood's shadow? No, she was talking in general, the broad meaning of shadow. Always unseen and unacknowledged despite she thinks that she 's smarter than most in the room and thus deserves some recognition. That clued us to a long involvement in top secret matters. Codenames for the parties involved in sordid matters added another layer of security just in case there is a leak in the future. 5. After looking at point one to four we are back to the five attendants of a clandestine meeting at the beginning of the first episode. Which one of the five is most likely the outsider?
  11. Sherlock counted in the four? What is your reasoning for it?
  12. Love, Antartica, Porlock, Langdale; four people who live in shadow. 1. Alicia, Lady Smallwood - spouse deceased. 2. Mycroft Holmes - most likely unmarried and living alone. 3.Mrs. Norbury - widowed. 4. Sir I-forgot-his-name - status unknown. Mrs. Norbury appeared as Lady Smallwood's sort of assistant, then what might be the fourth member's position/role in their quartet in regards of the others?
  13. (Is glancing mischievously towards Boton) What did I do?? But yeah, Mycroft totally has a "play room" in that house of his. I can imagine. After all he likes a certain kind of flirting-style depicted on a film we saw at season 4. @Boton: I am looking towards the fanfic-writer. Is this discussion sufficient to fire-up your ideas-generator? :D Edit: Mycroft really likes the bunker-alike office, isn't he? Even when talking with Lady S. I would love to see his other offices besides the one we saw in Season 1. In Season 2 we get to know that a call for him get redirected through several people first, who were staying at different-styled rooms.
  14. Tricky, because I have this feeling they'd be into costumes and role play, and I'm not sure I'd want to see/ be able to look away. :P (Is glancing mischievously towards Boton)
  15. Yes, hints of romance is enough. Moreover, it keeps the audience speculating about what is really going on off-screen, which is good to maintain their interest up to a point. :D They would be the power-couple of the series.
  16. She is 16 years older than him if we are going with the original birth-dates of the actors. This is certainly a fanfic-material :D, she could be one of his mentors many years ago. She get to see him as fresh-faced new recruit and then witnessed the many changes that happened during the years in the Service.
  17. No, they are well-away from the location of the shooting.
  18. Interesting possibilities all of you talked about here. The majority were considering the romantic and or physical side, is that means deep down you want to see Lady S. and Mycroft H. pairing in the season 5? ;)
  19. Is there something special about the last 2-3 days, like national holiday or the likes in the USA (except for weekend)? Because my role-play partners all were disappearing en-masses at approximately the same period.
  20. Ahhh... here's what I am waiting for, the 'offer to get know each other better - not necessarily romantic'. :D Lady S. certainly provides a different example of female character than the rest, isn't she? If there must be romantic overtone between these two I can see that it would be a balanced relationship based on mutual respect and trust (in loose term). Still waiting for Bedelia's opinion about the choice of assistant. ^^
  21. :D I am going with the first thing that immediately attracted my eyes. Why his choice of assistant would have hinted at the possibility that he was straight? Do this sort of negated Sherlock's words, which might be spoken from real knowledge about Mycroft's past dalliances or simply because that's one of his brand of humours, about meeting 'The Queen' in the Scandal in Belgravia?
  22. Now I am curious about why you think of that. What kind of person you think she is? Why do you think he didn't reject her outright? And what kind of person do you think she is?
  23. Considering her code name is 'Love', what make her think to offer such thing like you've had said to a man who by all appearance was living alone like a hermit by choice?
