What is 'appreciating as a woman'? Bet it is her doormat - frightened/wary mouse attitude that irked him because that kind of thing is anathema to Sherlock the Mr. Independent himself. He respect people who choose to stand up for themselves and really means it.

Myers-Briggs personality types -- and quiz

https://www.truity.com/personality-type/INFJ/relationships. Just change the alphabet soup if you want to see the others. One of my treasured best friends is ISFJ but with ESFJ it is a hate-hate relationship. -
We are back to the lack of respect IMO, respect is a necessary foundation for all healthy relationship. If Sherlock doesn't have that to Molly and yet still keeping her around... *shakes head*

Introverts, how is your day?
Shadow Dweller replied to Van Buren Supernova's topic in Miscellaneous Musings
Is this thread the correct place for this? I happen to read this on Molly Hooper's. Anyway, I used to live with three people who have that kind of habit. Alas, no apology after hand, or maybe because they didn't get chance as I immediately will strike back. The difference is, they spouted nonsenses while I wield words like well-placed stabs and slash to their known weaknesses and spin them to suits my intention that time. They might started it but I always finished it. Contrary with them, I really means what I've said. They might lose their head on the moment of anger but me, it actually sharpened my focus and completely removed what streak of kindness that exist to those who dare to attack me. You attacked me, you ceased to be a human being in my eyes. Congratulations, you just become something that offended my sensibilities and thus MUST BE destroyed. Enter hyper-strategic mode. Fast reading on the situation, map all possible obstacles and things I can use, formulate attack plans, execute and adjust as necessary. The end justify the means. As we are in a SHERLOCK forum; Sherlock might strike by pointing out what he deducted from someone but I would use what I already mapped about you to destroy your self-confidence at the very least. No boasting, just stating fact of life aka the default way I would react to verbal attack. Edit: That's what happened today. One of the three loves to pick fight and she always must have 'an enemy' to verbally abuse at whim. She will turn the slightest imperfection into chance to start a battle (and hence the resulting melodrama 'boohooo... she's so mean to me) when a brief verbal observation of the existing problem is enough to signal me to take care of it. No, she choose to complain in a way that simultaneously whining, nagging and disparaging my character, the last because I don't love to clean the house obsessively. Troublemaker, that one is. It is useless trying to placate her by keeping the place clean, she will pick another 'cause' and even imagined slight such as 'you are so cold as a woman' because I don't reciprocate on her act of criticizing her favourite targets. -

http://thoughtcatalog.com/heidi-priebe/2015/07/heres-who-probably-has-a-crush-on-you-based-on-your-myers-briggs-personality-type/ So! Based on that, which character do you think Sherlock would look twice to? :D -
"Motherhood slowed you down." "Pig." That's a banter common between men, they insult each other but rarely means malice with it. Women on the other hand, tends to talk sweet but actually poisonous. Not all is like the second group, thank God. Of course, it also could means that there's possibility Sherlock actually sees Molly not as a woman-potential mate but as one of the 'men', aka platonic friends only.

John probably got annoyed of what he perceived as Sherlock focusing on theatrics instead of solving the case then tied up the loose strings.

Sherlock was a bully and there are several instances of proof from S1-4 Janine bought a cottage on Sussex Down. ACD's Sherlock retired to keep bees at a cottage in that location. Somewhere either Moffat or Gatiss said that Sherlock will end up keeping bees with Janine (don't know joking or not, frankly I don't care).
-
Probably because Molly and Greg didn't really snipe back to his tendency to verbally abuse them. Janine's case is different, she also was used by Sherlock but later take her revenge in a way that he can appreciate. I believe Mofftiss if they said that Sherlock will end up keeping bees with her.

IMO, Sherlock doesn't like unsolvable riddles. A belief on himself and his abilities formed some of his core, an unsolvable riddle would shake that foundation. When did John said that?

Episode 4.3 "The Final Problem"
Shadow Dweller replied to Undead Medic's topic in Special and Series 4
Kindness, as defined by Mycroft and uncle Rudy? Then Mr. and Mrs. Holmes doesn't have right to chastise Mycroft for hiding that secret for so long, not without becoming hypocrites themselves. No wonder Mycroft becomes like that. The process of closing oneself from the others always take a long time and peppered by numerous rejection and betrayal from people who by their station in life should be to whom a child can turn to for his problems, namely parents and caretakers. Sherlock is the opposite, he looks like someone who had stayed for too long on the safe cradle of family, mummy's darling boy as revealed at the end of this episode.- 1,402 replies

Episode 4.3 "The Final Problem"

Agree to most of Boton's points except for the 'finally figured out that Sherlock is sane' part. Sherlock always seems to appears as sane, only with poor emotional control. Mycroft was used to Sherlock's tantrums and we can even see it on S4 when he only watched from the door as Sherlock destroyed the coffin. If Sherlock is to be locked permanently in jail it is not because of insanity but when he finally did something and crossed the wrong people, even big brother's influence cannot get him out of it. Mycroft truly carried the weight of the world on his shoulders and has been doing it since still a child himself (and people wondered why I don't sympathize with Sherlock instead of him :P ).- 1,402 replies

Exasperating to watch the same thing get recycled repeatedly. By the way, The 'Psyche Behind The Character' thread needs our attention now that we have all season 4's materials. ;)- 1,402 replies

Episode 4.3 "The Final Problem"
Shadow Dweller replied to Undead Medic's topic in Special and Series 4
If what Mycroft intended is to minimize the people who knows about their unofficial visit then it would make sense if the whole thing conducted incognito from the beginning to end without have to play a stranded fisherman at all. Such as staff rotation from the outside. He knows that almost everyone who spend time with Eurus becomes reprogrammed, and yet he still put too much faith on the fortress' staff. The whole thing smells like Sherlock's impulsiveness in action and Mycroft's inability to say no to his overindulged sibling.- 1,402 replies

Episode 4.3 "The Final Problem"

Playing on Sherlock's insatiable curiosity, his tendency to not take warnings seriously if it doesn't burn him yet, his longing for external acknowledgement, etc. At the flight of the dead Mycroft's precise words is, " In the end, are you really so obvious? Because this was textbook: the promise of love, the pain of loss, the joy of redemption; then give him a puzzle ... and watch him dance." Put the bait on the hook, throw the line, wriggle the bait a bit then pull it away just slightly out of his reach but still offering hope for him to capture it with some efforts.- 1,402 replies
