  1. Summer, the time when sunlight becomes too harsh for me and temperature could reach only several degrees lower than healthy human body's. Result, tempers runs short and I snapped to someone who dare to pour scented fabric softener into washing machine where my clothes were also being processed. Forcefully stopped the sequence, spin-dry the whole load then restarted the whole process again from the beginning. I hates the flowery-sweet scent these kind of products always imbue to fabric.
  2. :D I am going to haunt your Ao3's corner for that one.
  3. Lol. In other words, those people didn't actually saw Sherlock as depicted on the series but instead they saw someone they hope to play Pygmalion with and the expected end result is the 'dashing hero' becomes in love with them. That smacks on their own need to be needed.
  4. Yes well... if they cannot handle BBC's Sherlock's less than perfectly chivalrous conducts and the lack of immediate response to their 'I NEEDS romance' approach then they have no hope to handle my OC. This is the Holmes brothers we are talking about, not people who believes on soulmates to make them to be 'whole'. They have different priorities than searching for 'love' and close companionship.
  5. :D [is looking with hopeful eyes towards Boton] While the momentum is here would you write the established relationship between them soon? The one with Lady S. as Mycroft's former mentor.
  6. That's make sense and now the question mark is on, "Why now, after not long ago he had her escorted to an interrogation room under the suspicion of leaking sensitive information? Is there something in the series that could give us clue about her reason for such action?"
  7. James 'Jim' Moriarty
  8. Cubic zirconia also shines brighter among glass crystals. Still, both diamond and its replacement have the necessary structure that make them shiny when struck with light and they don't need rocks and glass beads around to bring out the sparkles. By now I am convinced that many of those role-players doesn't actually know what they truly want when they ask for a Sherlock-player. They often cannot handle the intensity and fled without having decency to call it quit first.
  9. That someone apparently forgot which era we are at right now. :P
  10. Couple of reasons maybe:1. they can relate to what you say as 'sidekick' characters. It's almost always self-potrait, I guess there is a lot of truth in a way. For example, I remember you played Sims before right? When I played mine looks and behaves like me (well, except those electrocuting neighbors, killing acquaintances and putting them to starve in the dungeon and let them being eaten by plants or killed by satellite--> well it gets pretty boring!), self potrait, then when I played wii my mii look like me. 2. They want to try other shoes. Well, it's role playing. They probably want to experience what it's like. 3. They don't consider it as 'sidekick'. Sherlock is dreamy character, as in, in real life, there are not many people with his ability. Actually, his sidekicks are more realistic people and maybe that makes it appealing in some way. Sherlock doesn't need John to be Sherlock. He doesn't need those comforting or he could do without help. But without people like John and others, Sherlock is not special. Many people actually enjoy comforting and helping people, or in the way, tasting the adventure without the main responsibility. 1. That's familiar. And no, all my sims were modeled after fictional characters and I let them run their own lives while I am busy with making the most outrageous buildings where they do activities at. Sherlock actually ended up as a crime boss, lol. 2 & 3. They ran away as soon as the Sherlock in-game behaves like in the series. Longer they would stay if Sherlock is being all nice and cuddly towards their character. >> without people like John and others, Sherlock is not special Isn't this like deliberately scattering small rocks around in order to make a polished diamond looks even better than it would be if it is around its own kind?
  11. Phantom road
  12. All day being in the presence of people who talk, talk and talk. Despite no hard physical exercise today I still feel like being put through a wringer. Tired now but this forum's siren song is too hard to resist.
  13. Personally, I believe her name is Elizabeth Alicia, and that she goes by Alicia socially, but that Mycroft would call her Lady Smallwood in public for simply ages, and that he would call her Elizabeth in private because that's how he's gotten to know her at work. Until he starts calling her Squishy-poo or something. :D At the beginning of the card-giving scene both of them were on the process of donning their suit-jacket. We saw many times that Mycroft almost never take off his so why on Lady Smallwood's presence? Not only him but Lady S. too. :D
  14. Well.... Mycroft's taste on clothing tends to be on the dandified side and look at the way he was standing up and hold the phone, or even the movements and positions of his hands at times. Mofftiss certainly had painted a not-so-masculine image for him. :D Sherlockology didn't update the Suits section for Season 4.
  15. Well duh, where in real life ever there's females cohabitation without some frictions first at the very least to establish the pecking order? Pass through that stage first before thinking about peaceful coexistence. Most females compete against each other even after they are no longer in reproductive age and you only have to take a look at random group where they are the majority of the population. Some are desperate for attention-adoration while the others might be doesn't even care and swatted away the first's snarling and snapping like pesky bug. John the male already showed the first's tendency, how do you think he would react if the girlfriend he brought back suddenly developed attraction to Sherlock?
  16. That last point is what is puzzling for me. Why helping and comforting instead of experiencing the adventure itself without being a sidekick? Do Sherlock looks like he needs comforting? I think he would need brain transplant first before that actually could ever hope to become reality. These Sherlock-groupies were often quickly becomes disillusioned when the Sherlock-player didn't react well to their character's advancement. Think about it, would Sherlock react well to a girl who appeared from nowhere and suddenly begins to stick to him like being glued with super-glue? Male beauty? :P Sherlock's face was and is weird while Mycroft... fits with the role like well-made gloves. Not that I ever imagine myself being the latter's love-interest. Heck no, even as a child I never like the role of support, I'd rather go out and spearhead the action myself. Is it the same with people who get attracted to others who is displaying qualities they dream of having themselves? Qualities like confidence, courage to rebel against society-made constraints etc.
  17. Crush. And why they 'prefers' that instead of directly fantasizing that they are the leading character himself instead of the love-interest who almost always the support character only?
  18. There, four letters bolded and underlined. Is 'A lot' equals with , 'All'?
  19. This is a text-book example of logical fallacy known as False Equivalence. Read again my previous reply, please. I like if people could dismantle my argument but the countering volley better be sound instead of having a gaping hole the size of 'the new window' made by Moriarty's grenade for the Bakerstreet flat.
  20. Human beings becomes attached to those they could relate to, and cinematic production needs to take that to account if they want audience. For female detectives and soldiers, the pressure of behaving in professional setting would prevent the worst of the female rivalries but take that away then put them in the close vicinity almost every hour every day and the dynamics would change. The sense of rivalry doesn't always based on whether both are interested on dating or not. It is a primal instinct that come into work by merely being in the vicinity of another female, with exception if the second party is much older or younger and therefore obviously not a competitor. A lot of women still cannot tame that instinct.
  21. Sherlock probably would remains more or less like in the series but John, 'she' might experience some sort sense of rivalry towards SH like a lot of house-sharing females from certain age-groups.
  22. Lol. Look at most of the women population and tell me that they would not most of the time act differently had each of them was born as male. Female who act more like the male-stereotype is the minorities and we face specific challenges that our 'womanly' sisters in sex-chromosome doesn't.
  23. We already have an example of female John and her name is Joan Watson. John 'Three Continents' Watson is a traditionalist, if Sherlock is female then the series would be in real danger of turning into ordinary slice of life romcom or at least one side on John's part, which would immediately diminish a lot of potential audience's interest. The Sherlock Holmes name attracts people who likes certain sort of adventure, should there is an emphasize on more than platonic, oblivious relationship (on Sherlock's part) with 'her' flatmate then what's the difference with quite a number of series old and new out there born from that kind of template? It would not be 'Story about a detective' but it would become yet another generic action series focusing on the 'domestic affairs' while being thinly covered by sleuthing activities.
  24. Just change Sherlock's sex-chromosome to XX and you got it. I bet nothing significant would change since anyone from both sexes could have that particular combination of personality and temperament.
  25. I would love to see Irene Adler coming back instead of Mary Watson. Mary is unnecessary and all stories that involved her looks like a filler of sort. She had outlived her usefulness the moment Mofftiss introduced the pregnancy. Before that I keep hoping that Mycroft would use that particular asset for Queen and Country where the mission crossed the Bakerstreet boys' path and thus creating new adventure for all. But no, she ended up as 'love-interest' and a supposed reason for angsty moments. I say good-riddance that she's gone now and please Mofftiss, never put another female character in that particular roles again or you risk of destroying the series even further.
