  1. I know this guy since he was a tiny puppy. He is technically still a puppy (less than a year with an adult-sized body). He has this obsession to groom me (those tiny harmless nibble) but he also likes to chew my arms. Helpless chews but can be painful after a while. Here he was trying to chew but after I growled at him he pretended not to hear me, act naturally as if nothing happened, and went back to nibbling.
  2. There are multiple levels of depth in this post!
  3. Can’t wait to see more Mycroft! Or maybe Sherlock and John? I have a plethora of brushes in my place. Although the one if your link seems to have a more dense and natural fur (?) than the ones I have. The second link feels questionable to me, as I think the material can get into it and create a whole shenanigan! I can imagine the scenario that reminded me of the time when I made cross stitch and sew my pajama leg, only realizing it after it was way too late. I had to destroy my progress, because the other option was going bottomless. I think I can find something else, it’s time to make sure of the junks I kept around just in case. Have you tried cardboard? But I assume it would be destroyed soon enough.
  4. @J.P I remember you made Mycroft’s felt doll which was very impressive. At that time I have only made a pengwing and dog in a cup, those very beginner level of craft that came with tutorials. and that is still my portfolio although I have an almost-finished WIP, Locky! I have collected his hair every time I brushed him and wanted to make his figurine out of his fur. I know this is only my desperate attempt to make him immortal but it’s a long project that I have been dragging with zero experience and knowledge except stabbing and stabbing. It started looking like a lizard but I can say it looks like Locky now. Will post pics sometime in the future. I know I have asked you before and you showed me the picture of your finger (not the one people usually show I know there is some kind of board to help because I saw them being sold together with felting kit. I have something that look like that white board (those that come with new appliance to protect the corners) but I’m not sure if that is the one and my lazy ass is too stubborn to look for them (I know I have it) so I kept stabbing myself again and again. I’m not sure if this is craft or self-torturing device. It’s hurt! I have those metal tip but it’s always easier to work with bare hands. So, I don’t know what this post’s purpose is. Even if you let me know what the protective board is, I’m not going to buy or look for it. So, do you have more Mycroft or other felt figurine? I’m always fascinated with others’ handywork. There was a time I was drooling with admiration because someone posted about the chainmail (yes those medieval thingy) they made themselves. Who doesn’t want chainmail! Okay, it’s my bed time. I have a long day. I haven’t drunk enough coffee today. It’s peopling day and maybe I’m exhausted that I remembered J.P’s Mycroft while I was stabbing myself. This sentence doesn’t come out well.
  5. Thank you! I have been wondering about redheads, but I just let it go because if I squint really, really hard I can accept it as red. Another language problem, all this time I thought advise and advice is just a difference in American and British spelling!
  6. Is it my setting because I can’t read the text without having a serious headache. Everything else looks fine. This is how J.P’s quote appears in my monitor.
  7. I pick my battle, if I think it’s not worth writing about, I wouldn’t try to reply. However, I have hope that maybe you want to consider another way to look at it regarding Lia Thomas and similar cases. Disclaimer: I know and read about her, but not to the extend of what the person Riley you mentioned was saying. I didn’t follow the news and I think that comes later. Another disclaimer, I am not a professional athlete, far from it. I played sports mostly in my colleague and only completed within my university. I didn’t train, I wasn’t coached, I played and competed for fun during bi-annual friendly events. One thing I would try to convince you, the physical ability of biological male and female is very different, which makes us better at different things. For example, I competed in wall/rock climbing (wall is manmade rock is nature) Women mostly rely on legs while men generally have better upper body strength. It’s easier for them to pull up with hands therefore the slanted, protruding terrain (imagine the ridiculous Tom Cruise’s mission impossible rock climbing, I would shit myself and die) would be easier for them since upper body strength play a huge part here. Of course, proper training might help and there are exceptions. When I did my first rock climbing orientation we had separate cliffs for males and females, and another cliff shared by both gender because we were only using tools (jumaring) and doing abseiling on that one. I competed my cliff, and they ordered me to climb another which I found out was for males. This was like orientation when we had seniors barking orders bootcamp style (and trying to find potential talents suitable for each specific divisions) so I didn’t know what was going on, I thought they were just picking on me. The ‘male’ cliff was like what I had described earlier, much more three-dimensional and I needed to use a lot of upper body strength which I barely had. Fortunately, it was nature, so there were many ‘things’ I could use, a little space to put my slightly smaller than average male feet or my fingers could fit into smaller cracks. Not all males could clear this wall and no other females were asked to try. This was our first cliff, we had no experience and were in various shapes, and there was daylight as the limit. However, apple to apple basis, during competition, it’s expected that everyone is familiar with the sport, not rookies like us. The physical difference is there and competitions are done at walls, the manmade environment wouldn’t help the way nature did. It wouldn't be fair to compete with different gender. Just like the swimming pool. I took a specific certification course back then which the requirements were the same for both genders. We had swimming pool tests, one of them was basic swimming, if I remember correctly it was 400 meter in under 20 minutes besides other water tests. I was the only female in my group back then and it was horrible. I was far behind, the time differences was not a joke. None of us were athletes, we were just trying to finish a course. However, during the 15 minutes water treading I was sparkling while the guys were struggling. While technique helps, females are generally more buoyant than males, we also need extra weight to keep us underwater. It’s just simple physical comparation by gender. When the test was to lift an 'unconscious' diver out of the water using a certain pulling method, I couldn’t do it. My instructor was big and although the method should allow me to lift him (according to him) I couldn’t while the guys did it. Again, it relied a lot on upper body strength where I stood at the edge of water and used crossed hands method to get him out vertically. I was lucky I didn’t crash into the water instead, but all I did was dipping him like a giant tea bag, trying and failing, bumping him on the pool’s edge enough times that he decided to end both his and my suffering. In sprinting. I won the female sprint categories but when I tried to do a sprint with my male friends it was pretty hard to beat them. The world records for both gender on 100 and 200meter has significant time differences. I can’t testify for other sports but both genders are built differently and it wouldn’t be fair to compete in the same sport that require mostly physicality. Some sports also have categorizations within its own gender like weigh classes in boxing. I think in Lia Thomas’s case, it’s not against transgender, but it’s simply not fair in sport terminology. Just like not using substance that potentially give anyone any advantages. It’s preferable to be apple to apple as closely as possible. If I were to compete professionally and lose to a biological man, to be honest, I would be pissed, too. Sore loser, I don’t know. No agenda, no hate to particular demographic, I think it's simple unfair. However, as I have stated in the beginning of the post, I didn’t know what this Riley person talked about, if it’s based on hate and if it’s a personal attack, that I can see why you are mad and that is not a behavior to be condoned.
  8. Sometimes I sit like this and contemplate about my existence.
  9. I believe that is an actual sign, but I didn’t see it personally, of course. I have seen weird translations but nothing was as hilarious as the ones that can be found in the internet. What J.P said. After your post I tried to google translate it and yes I think it means dried vegetables. Not sure how it leads to sexy/unsexy times but I wouldn’t role out trolls as well in translating it, or laziness, or wrong interpretation. As for the second one, if you really have to take it seriously, I think it only says that 90% of accidents are cause by humans. Yes, the walking, obnoxious, annoying, two-legged creatures. While it's probably confusing, there are accidents caused by animals or technical errors. I used to commute 40 minutes (one way) daily to my work place and there was a very long stretch of straight road. Almost every day I would see road kills, ranging from dogs to cats, goats, rats, frogs, and chickens, with the biggest percentage (more than half) was dogs. Saw some ‘technical errors’ in this deadly road as well. For example, they built a new lane meant for slower vehicle (this is also the route for commodity trucks). The bright mind of the people who were responsible for this project decided a high curb would be an ideal divider, WITHOUT making sure it would be visible at night. A bit of background, the same bright-minded government loved to save money by turning off street lights. I am not joking. I worked late before and had to ride in a long stretch of darkness because their rusty mind thought it’s better to turn off the whole lane instead of alternating the lights. It was a complete darkness except the light from my motorcycle. Besides roadkill risk and the possibility of bats and bugs hitting you, there were unpredictable obstacles on the road, for example, THE NEW CURB. I saw two cars (different time) stuck on the curb because they went right into it, hitting their chassis and potentially ruining the vehicles. There was no sign or glow in the dark material, it was a simple high curb in the middle of multiple road lane. The last time I went that route they had put up some signages. Well, this has become a full rant so I might as well as write about a terrifying thing I witnessed on one of my journeys to work. I saw someone dead on the road because she hit a parked vehicle. It was a government vehicle meant for landscaping. It was parked on the right side of the road next to the landscape island that separated the two-way road. We drive on the left, right lane is fast lane. There was no safety triangle or anything, and of course, it was pitch dark. She must have hit it hard with the motorcycle and was dead on the spot, helmet was still on, bike was a wreck, behind this vehicle. I still remember every detail. Gah! Here are a few more lost in translation but don’t think too much of them! I didn’t see them personally, I don’t really know what they meant but I’m sure the chicken is just an introvert.
  10. It’s the first one, yes, in the situation where you have no other choices but to park next to them and therefore follow their pattern in order to fit. This is applicable for cars and motorcycle although it’s easier to maneuver and adjust motorcycle. I have many colorful language to say about Tylenol gate and let’s say I wouldn't want to dig myself into a infinite rabbit hole so I’d just say (@#%!**#&* and #&!#&$%(*^&#%^$@*@* and #!&^#$%$*@!@ to remain healthy and sane. Hopefully this (#@*!^*&& doesn’t ever come near where I live. My rant for today: It’s amazing (not in a good way) for me to see how people fake everything. Maybe because it’s internet culture now, or maybe because they are too immoral and willing to do everything. I’m not talking about just not advertising yourself the way you are, fishing for stupid internet likes by doing and faking stupid things, the reason I quit Facebook decades ago, but something much more sinister like faking animal rescue videos. This is heartbreaking and making me have more trust issues. There are users and channels that pretend to rescue animals but in reality they are the one who inflicted the condition in the first place, or worse, it’s a reverse video. Besides internet, it happens in real life as well, that is why I am always skeptical with any charity and foundation. Other issues that I have seen more lately is people faking mental illness and disease, like pretending to have cancer or worse, munchausen by proxy cases. I can’t fathom, actually I am quite speechless whenever I read about them and the only thing I want to do is to throw them into the space. Are we the most despicable species? That is my shaking fist to the sky moment today.
  11. Can you identify two of the puppies below in the pictures above this?
  12. I hate to park next to an ahole, because when they leave, I'll be the ahole. I'm also unsure if I can be mad at that ahole, because they might not be the original ahole.
  13. Well, as you know, I’m not a language expert. However, I believe the first one is saying, “Kindly copulate with various types of greens, legumes, herbs here.” It’s not that polite, obviously, I’m inserting my own manner here. The second one read, “There are 90% scumbags who don’t know how to differentiate proper driving from a bunch of fresh toes so please use contraceptive for your horizontal exercise at all times.” Something like that, I don’t know.
  14. I read there is a new Dexter series. I have watched the original (8 seasons) and New Blood (mini series). I enjoyed them. Apparently, there are two new ones Original Sin (ongoing series), and a prequel (Resurrection). I also found out there is a new Now You See Me movie. I like the first two.
  15. Not sure where to post this, I don't want to ruin the Cute animal thread. As I might have shared here, my dog and I befriend many strays on the beach. Overtime, they become regulars. I know their spots, their time, their territories, their favorite treats, etc. Any day can be the last day I see them, some were gone due to sickness, human’s cruelty, or old age. If I don’t see them, I usually assume they are well somewhere, adopted, or just wandering else where. It happens and and it works better for me. Sometimes they appear again to my delight. However, over time, people notice and talk to me. They would tell me if something happened to the dog and if I knew they knew the dogs, I couldn’t help to ask. Sometimes it’s good news, other time is not. Today is another bad one, after another bad one last week. There should be a way to turn off feelings like what we always discuss. A bloody switch or something.
  16. We don't deserve dogs.
  17. Yes, I'm talking about Twitter. I have to be on at least one just to exist if I want a slight hope to sell my books. I thought writing was a safe industry full of introverts, smart, drama-free people. I was so very wrong. There are so many dramas there. Just a few of them are enough to cloud everything. Some can be very discouraging as well. Just saw a post of someone gloating about engaging professionals in everything, therefore his work is off course better quality than those who don't. I'm talking about numbers that can be equivalent to life savings here. Many chimed in in agreement and of course implying others who don't do so are inferior. I don't argue with his logic, he has a point, but just because X + Y probably equal to Z, doesn't mean that's the only way, right? This is just one example, my way or high way is very common.
  18. That must be frustrating. Some probiotic supplements could help but I assume you had tried it. Little things can add up, it's getting harder to eat healthier, and life can be stressful. Please take care. I sort of understand this, I think. I live in two places, and I stop gardening. Every plants I have now are the ones that survive on neglect.
  19. I have to admit I tried to read Shakespeare and didn't survive. It's too flowery and sophisticated for me. I am trying to eat healthier. Let me see what they have in the vegetable aisle. It has a point. Use contraceptive, people.
  20. I was shifting through my old phone and found something. I believe I hadn't posted them, if I had I'm not sorry you get to see these again. I remember taking these pictures to post here, but something must have happened that I didn't. It dated back in 2019. These are postcards that came with something I purchased back then.
  21. His vet recommended clothing at night when he had itch and scratching issue a while ago. I had never bought clothes for him because there was not need for that here, so I had to improvise using my old T-shirt with a rubber band adjustment at the back. (Of course I might not fit into this T-shirt now. Obviously.) The cute thing is I think it’s cozy for him, especially during colder hours. He has his cot and access to my bed anytime. He usually comes up after midnight to morning. I like to put blanket on him on normal days and he sleeps in it until it gets hot. I think he likes the T-shirt/blanket when the weather fits.
  22. Yeah, some writing advices are okay, but most of them are a load of crap (loads of craps? Loads of crap? Load of craps?), because some snobbish people think it’s their way or no way. There is no size fits all except Sherlock’s sheet. Now that I’m back on social media (other than here, is this forum considered as social media?), the experience can be very weird to me. People can be so needy and dramatic, that’s a given, but there are others who cater to them, which makes it a cesspool. I remember it used to be a good place to make real connections, find missing friends, and a place to share updates with people who we actually know. Now, it’s full of fakes, bots, spammers, liars, scammers, identical-looking people fishing for compliments and sympathy, or mean people who kick others when they are down. It’s good that I still have a reasonable circle that makes the experience bearable and even fun, finding others who have the same lame sense of humor. I can’t imagine what it’s like to never experience a world without it. I really don’t envy the new generation. Done, this is my old man shaking the fist to the sky moment for today.
  23. Sorry to hear that. Is it occasional or permanent? Public toilet is a nightmare to me, that would confine me as well. When I was still active in mountaineering, especially for longer expeditions, we were supposed to do it outdoor. Number one is thankfully rare because of sweating, but when I had to do it, it was hard. I really needed to be sure there was no one around. For number two, we brought machete for digging, presumably like kitty litter theory, and FORTUNATELY, I never needed that. Yes, there was a week long expedition, but we stopped by a local house mid week and they had a toilet! For other times, I still believe in this method and it worked for me: every time I started a climb, at the foot of the mountain I would choose a small, solid rock and put it in my pocket. A senior taught me that. I never had the urge and always made it on time to the proper toilet. I swear by this. That is not an advice! It probably wouldn't be easy to find natural, solid rock in urban settings. To be honest, maybe I'd prefer nature than dirty public toilet. Yes, absolutely. Yuck. Since we are at that, and you have been cursed to read this far, in one of the expedition in a remote island one of our agendas was to built proper toilet for the villagers, on the LAND. What they had was outhouse on stilts in the ocean. Again, thankfully we occupied the town hall and there were toilets. So, besides other things, we spent time building these for them. They were thankful and all were good. However, we found out they never used them. Why? Because they didn't feel comfortable doing number two without the ocean view and gathering of fish underneath. I have to say it's a very green way and now that I type this, it doesn't sound that bad, does it?
  24. Whatever it is, I always watch what I eat, I am too old to do this.
  25. I have no idea about all this. What I can say is it’s fun to read Brit cursing, if that makes sense. I saw a rant post with ‘oi’ innit’ and I can imagine someone sophisticated trying to curse. I don’t know, that is supposed to be your language. I add that disclaimer just in case there is any. I guess there is, I think I have read some, but it’s not fun to analyze and some of them sound like made-ups. My history lessons come from Asterix and Obelix. I think I have a faint memory of those!
