With the proven success of Series 1 - 3 on TV and the proven financial success of TAB in the movie theaters as well as on TV, I have no doubt whatsoever that BBC will pay for Sherlock 5. And if they didn't for some (Brexit anyone?) reason then Hartswood could EASILY get funding elsewhere..... My money is on Moriarity as having "the twin" <--- actual twin or sibling close enough in age/ looks as to be a twin. This is who we saw getting off the helicopter on the beach IMHO.

Sarah Arthur got ROBBED! Those costumes were soooo apropo and gorgeous! -
No, that's a new one to me, Arcadia. Thanx for posting! Don't think that is the multi-story building by the river/bridge where we saw them filming the nurses on the top floor - do you? Those other bldgs seem to close by... the Thames should be out the window if it were that building. Wait - now I see it is labeled as Dr. Strange .... oops! Sorry for that.

I definitely remember both Gatiss and Moffat talking to each other about Sherlock deducing that his father had had an affair (Sherlock as a child did this) and that had led to the break up or significant negative impact on their family life. Pretty sure it was a video clip of the two of them saying these things to each other. But they then both fully agreed that that was TOO specific. They wanted to keep Sherlock's family life/childhood only hinted at, not specified as to this or that thing in it. As to the costumes they made that glorious blue number for Mary, with the bird hat, all for a 1 second clip of her saying, " you can rely on me, Mr. Holmes" AND they only shot her from the waist up . Molly's v ictorian dress was nothing compared to that blue one.... holy moly it seems no expense was spared on the Victorian costumes IMHO Folks are saying they heard AA say that "Lady Smallwood" was her first line in the trailer... making it seem like it is SHE that LS is saying "we brought you back to deal with this" to.... interesting take IMHO....OMG I can hardly wait to see S4!!! The standout bit in the trailer for me was Una's line.. . SO VENOMOUS! and heretofore we've only seen her be the comic relief... Wow. She was righteously mad at Mycroft and scared me !

Still to this day, doctors are taught that they cannot have emotions in their dealings w/ patients, that it will detract from their thinking ability and their competence. Further carried out by the proscription against treating family members (and in some places even codified into law) as having a loved one as a patient will effect the doctoring abilities and competency negatively. ACD was a doctor, his favorite med school professor was the example for Sherlock. Does that help explain anything? -
this tweeter has promised to post the videos but for now, live-tweeted Moffat today, stating that no Johnlock, he was misunderstood yesterday. This was a moffat only Q and A. With An Accent‏@withanaccent (have tried twice but this forum will not accept the cut and paste from that twitter account) "He was talking about the importance of representation in general, not hinting at anything to come on the show."

'twas a veritable cornucopia of Victorian breakfast foods, as she called it. Her interpretation of what she found in researching Victorian breakfast foods amongst that class at least. Amazing variety and richness! (and none of it was actually eaten ie. foods spoil in room temperature at the 2 hour mark)
