  1. He's proved to be SO popular that they'd be fools not to have Moriarity come back in one way or another... flashback, memory palace, etcetc. Andrew Scott is SO fantastically creeeepy as M. as to "Moriarity Lives" --- I've always taken his appearance at the end of Epi 3 to be the videotape of him. As Mary says in TAB, "he's on all the tv screens in England"
  2. it's a night shoot AND with "rain effects"!!! Kewl.
  3. I guess I just don't see the need for Sherlock to do this (figure out anything emotional or psychological about Moriarity) just to figure out why a video of Moriarity is being played on all of England's tv sets..... It seems like parallel lines, no? I just feel like they presented psycho-social stuff to us but "in a fog" or "through a mirror darkly". I'm distressed that I can't figure it out! and distressed that I can't figure out ANYTHING about what "exactly" Moriarity is going to do "next"! Arugh
  4. Maybe it's how Sherlock sees himself, how he thinks his mind works. Just because you're a genius doesn't mean that you understand yourself any better than the next person -- though you may think that you do. Yeah, there's the "emotional intelligence" aspect that is lacking in Sherlock for sure.
  5. Why did Sherlock have to "go deep, deep within myself" to solve the issue of Moriarity's video? On the face of it, he wouldn't have to do that at all. He could just think about it. Just think about why/when/how M is in that video clip. But since he was drugged, he let his mind/challenged his mind to "go deep"....... or was it "since he was drugged" his mind forced him to go deep, deep within himself? I think it was to answer the question / play on the question of "miss me?" (did Sherlock miss Moriarity - in any way/shape/form?) as well as to answer the more pragmatic question of how the video could be broadcast on all the tv screens across England.... BUT I DON'T SEE ANY ANSWERS! Arugh!
  6. Another T-shirt? ;) That would be brilliant! Although I can see it now -- everyone who saw me in it would commiserate with me over my hiatal hernia.... :D we can have "You should put that on a T-shirt" on one side and "Hiatus is a mental condition" on the other!
  7. but "sister wives" connotes polygamy ie. Mormons call multiple wives their "sister wives" to me, at least, it doesn't connote or reflect the "Brides" of purple robes and conical hats at all
  8. Well, that was on Emilia's tombstone! Really? I thought it said "beloved sister and friend"??
  9. "sister brides" <---- <<<< shiver >>>> Ew!
  10. Another T-shirt? ;) Oh, this would be good! Good indeed.
  11. metaphorical twins then. We'll seeeeee.....
  12. confession: I have only seen 1 James Bond movie ever... what was it? "Downfall" "Windfall?" heh heh. The one where Adele sang the attached song.....
  13. I am SURE it is going to be twins! (or look alikes in one way or another) just cuz it was so prominent to have Sherlock yell that out at John in TAB! But then again - is it a bluff?, a double bluff?, or a triple bluff? ARUGH!
  14. I think it is called an Aston-Martin (the red car). That's what I've seen on twitter photos of it. My guess is that Morocco is for Mary's backstory. Sherlock told her that he deduced she was on the run from something and that that was what Magnussen had on her. Then she tweeted the photo of her applying a fake tan. Tan, Morocco (standing in for any desert clime)... seems to go together. I got nothing on what villain Toby is playing. Bring the dogs back!
  15. Thanks so much for help w/ cutting and pasting information for here..... will try them next time I have something to paste! Fingers crossed.
  16. Oh I agree for sure w/ that ... but when it comes to keeping movie stars "happy" doing a tv show, I just took it to mean more movie type stuff like explosions, costumes, car chases in fancy cars, ie the fellers getting to do "boy stuff". (I assume that Mofftiss had the main plot points, the main character arcs, the main bits of dialog -- and thus the backgrounds and motivations -- of Sherlock and John down already and not really negotiable or able to be changed much) I was thinking all weekend how many memorable phrases came out of TAB: "you'll do", it's never twins (yet another example of Sherlock being really crabby and grumpy and yelling unpleasantly at John), the stage is set/the curtain rises, we are ready to begin and on and on "dead is the new sexy"
  17. and I took that sentiment of Mofftiss (keeping their leads happy) to mean: guns, car chases, trips to Morocco, lots of hero visuals... not psycho-sexual explorations of childhoods! ; )
  18. Thanks Lalarun! It seemed to me that BC was saying that he himself convinced Mofftiss to write/delve into the background of Sherlock. Surely, that can't be true? Did it strike anyone else that way? Maybe just bad reporting... Maybe the "climax" that Moffat has been talking about in regards to S4 has to do with "what made Sherlock, Sherlock"?
  19. Sorry... I can't get this platform to take my "paste" well and allow me to make more comments. Thank you for the article! I was struck by how BC makes it sound like it was HIS idea to get Mofftiss to do / concentrate on Sherlock's backstory? Did anyone else get that sense from this? Somehow, I doubt it but.... I sure could be wrong. What made Sherlock like this? Is that what the "climax" Mofftiss referred to is?
  20. from BC's interview Jan 2014: So Sherlock returned on New Year’s Day. It’s trying to flesh him out? There is a lot more backstory. There are a lot more scenes where you find out why he is the way he is. The first conversation I ever had with Steven Moffat about Sherlock was asking: “How did this happen?” His response was: “What do you mean, he’s just brilliant.” But someone isn’t just brilliant, there is something that has happened. I didn’t want Sherlock being easily labelled as being either on the spectrum of Asperger’s or autism. The reality of those problems and difficulties is very different in each individual case. It would have been lazy for us to just say: “Oh, that is what he is.” So that is examined a lot more in this series. After two years away, he is rusty about human relationships, especially with his best friend and with London. And it takes time for him to get back on his game. Will there be romance? No, no, no – romance is a foreign concept to him. There might be something in the arena of proximity. But there is no romance. How do you keep him fresh? That is one of the biggest challenges. We throw him into these situations in the 21st century and see how he copes, which is always amusing or revealing. But I think it is even more interesting to understand how he came to be like this, in the 21st century. How much of a thrill is it to finally reveal how he survived? Despite what it might look like, being bungeed is a lot of fun, falling onto an airbag is a lot of fun. People have their own theories, so I’m sure they will be going: “That’s good, that’s bad, that’s disappointing, that’s amazing…” If I was on the receiving end, watching it, I would be really excited to find out what was going on. But as the people presenting it, it is different. I feel we have done a very interesting thing with it. Do I enjoy the cat-and-mouse element of it? It just happens without me, so is not something I really take part in, to be honest. The only thing I am protective of is not wanting it to be spoilt for people who want to enjoy it on a Sunday night with their families. But it is great that we have such an ardent fanship, and that is testament to us doing something right.
  21. "The Abominable Scot" ha! Good name for him! He is a real tart for a teaser, isn't he? I'm thinking BC is rocking the Stubblebatch! Looking very sexy in a grown-up way.... as opposed to his look in the pilot, where he looked like he was 18 yrs old. But, I don't want it to mean that Mofftiss are making Sherlock a superhero. Yuk. There's enough of that stuff everywhere already. It's wonderful to have a brainy rational guy be the protag, IMHO. And enough w/ the killing (by principals) already. Way outside of canon territory and unlike Sherlock/Holmes that I have come to know and love. OK, taking my rant elsewhere now.... Seriously, hiatus is a mental condition!
  22. Yeah for Tom Burke! He's SO good in this!! (and in Hollow Crown)
