  1. Just thought of something else that made me laugh! Johnlockers will insist that Mary's message to the boys mean that they are now free to be a couple. Non-Johnlockers will insist that they are, as always, best friends, because nothing else has happened. And so the game continues :D :D :D Mofftiss are brilliant!
  2. Sherlock FINALLY remembers the name! :D That surely must mean that we have come to an end. Hehe! Was fricking scared for a moment that Sherlock would shoot Mycroft, but I kept telling myself, no, he will find another way. I find it funny how fans on this forum had seen so many things coming ;) Look at you clever lot! Sherlock would be proud :D
  3. Well... that was really crazy. Okay, this one I need to process! But... I am nearly crying from happiness at the ending John Watson back in Baker Street! Didn't think it would happen. On that note, this certainly seems like there won't be any more Sherlock. But who knows? Maybe a special somewhere in the future?
  4. Ha! And here I have just listening to my Lord of the Rings / Hobbit playlist which ends with "The Last Goodbye". But I like endings. Provided I find them satisfying. Great song, I love it! About endings... I could make a pro- and con-list They'd probably be equally long / equally important.
  5. "Are you ready? Are you ready? Are you ready? ... I'm bringing Sherlock back - YEAH!" :P
  6. Hmm, good question ;) I'm fairly certain some are still at 'denial'! But I guess I'm getting ahead of myself, as well. I should just wait and see what there may or may not be to grieve over. Only one hour!
  7. I would love that to, Redbeard! Please, Mofftiss, are you listening?!! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!
  8. Ugh, J.P, I sincerely hope it does not end like THAT!
  9. :blanket: Shock blankets and hugs for everyone!
  10. "If this is to end in fire, we should all burn together..." "This is the end. Hold your breath and count to ten..." Those two songs are playing in my head... Wonder why?! Guys, I just wanna say: I'm so glad to have this forum to go to! Look forward to discussing tonight's episode (The Final Episode Problem) with you
  11. I think that's a function of the difference in HOW they go about doing it. In series 3 much of it (at least in 3.1 and 3.2) was done via comedy, sometimes at Sherlock's expense (either in contradiction to his characterization or with him as the butt of the joke). In 4, its done through drama and compliments rather than contradicts his established characterization. It is plot-driven growth, not comedy-driven change. Good point, as I definitely got tired of Sherlock being "downgraded" and ridiculed. I also think s3 moved the characters so far that it shocked me from one episode to the other. By the time s4 started, my expectations were adjusted according to HLV.
  12. Or it may be the end. I am hoping its not the end. I was reading through some old interviews and one from a couple of years ago I believe, said that they had got together and plotted out seasons 4 and 5 all at once...now that is not to say that Season 5 has to be made, but it leaves me with hope anyway. Who knows? All I can say is that this series, so far, has had a sense of finality about it. Moffat and Gatiss have dealt with Mary's death and its repercussions. They've brought Sherlock and John through maybe the lowest point in their friendship, and they're still on the same side. Now awaits the final problem... It doesn't get more dramatic than this, folks! If they were to make another series, I wonder how they would go forward, while continuing the character development and maintaining the emotional impact. I don't think that's possible, and the characters have come so far... How do you continue the series and simply have John and Sherlock going back to solving cases together? Maybe I just lack imagination, but I think this is it. And I'm pretty sure my emotional response to tonights episode will be according to that expectation! I'm excited and very, very emotional right now. Here's to the greatest TV-series ever!
  13. That's how I feel, too - not that I know the original stories, but I do love Sherlock's character development, while also missing the sociopath. Funny enough, I'm coping a lot better with Sherlock's humanisation in this series than I did in series 3. I used to love it when occasionally we would catch a glimpse of Sherlock's heart. Now I get excited when I get a glimpse of his eccentricity
  14. Is there anywhere else you can post the thing you are referring to? You've made me curious ;) Aaaand here we are! I haven't been following this thread, so this may very well have been mentioned already. I was talking about what Sherlock said toward the end about when he and his brother were kids, and Mycroft was forever saying that the East Wind was coming to get him. I'm thinking now that was almost certainly a reference to Euros (or Eurus, as some sites seem to be spelling it, perhaps to avoid confusion with European currency) that went right over young Sherlock's head. Yes, I agree! Which would mean that Sherlock either did not know about Eurus (and I don't think that's the case; it doesn't seem plausible) or he didn't know the meaning of her name. Or he did know, and Mycroft was threatening him that his sister would come and get him, which is really mean.
  15. Always liked this game! I'm ready whenever you are, SherlockedCamper
  16. When you don't watch any other TV or movies for weeks while a Sherlock series is running... and a good while after it has finished, because nothing else matters is as good! So you spend your spare time rewatching episodes, writing fanfiction and making fan-vids... Boy, I am really crazy!
  17. Referring to the spoiler-free review of The Final Problem on Sherlockology, I'm just gonna post my reactions to various parts of it here. I know it's a spoiler-free review, but considering that some of you may not want to read it anyway, I will post bits of the review in spoiler boxes and my own comments below each box. If you would prefer for me to also post my comments in a spoiler box, please let me know! Yay, yay, and yay again! The boys are back in town! So relieved to read this part of the review. Though, obviously I might disagree after watching the episode, but it certainly sounds promising. This is when I - once again - have to wonder whether or not to watch the episode on Netflix on Monday afternoon (that's when it's available here), rather than on Sunday late evening. I fear I will not be able to sleep for hours after watching this! If this is the final episode, as I think it will be - - I could not have wished for better words about the episode than the above!
  18. Thanks, Carol! Didn't realise how much I missed you all and this forum! Great to be back Is there anywhere else you can post the thing you are referring to? You've made me curious ;)
  19. Hope it's okay to post a link to a spoiler-free review of The Final Problem here: http://www.sherlockology.com/news/2017/1/13/final-problem-review1-130117. I will comment more on it later, as I think it is super exciting, but I'm on my mobile phone, so long posts are exhausting.
  20. Ooooh, I don't think this has been mentioned yet, but we all recognised the words uttered by Smith, just as Sherlock is about to run out of air, right? "Off you pop". XD
  21. I'm just revisiting my favorite episode, since The Final Problem will most likely be connected with it, somehow. (I say my favorite episode, and I think it still is, but The Lying Detective comes pretty close!) John asks Mycroft: "Why don't you talk to Sherlock, if you're so concerned about him?" Mycroft answers: "Too much history between us, John. Old scores. Resentments." John then laughs it off as if the rivalry is ridiculous and trivial, but Mycroft is not amused, obviously. It could mean nothing, but I'm wondering if we will now finally learn more about why Sherlock and Mycroft have such issues between them. I would love to find out!
  22. That could be true. As for me, I know next to nothing of canon, but I still enjoy Gatiss' scripts. The Six Thatchers is my least favorite of his, but I don't dislike it. I just got slightly bored at one point, which I think is the first time for me when watching Sherlock. I'm racking my brain to see if I can find the common denominator for his scripts that makes me like them, but I can't. I think it depends on the plot and character portrayal, mostly. There are weaknesses in the scripts for TST and TEH, but I still like the overall plot and character portrayal. I also have to wonder how much of the script each man writes on his own... Just because one of them is credited for the writing, doesn't mean he wrote it entirely on his own, does it?
  23. Love it! Love the plot, the humor, Sherlock's character development.
  24. I was a little put off by the inclusion of Mary at first, but by the end of the episode I was really glad they did. A, we finally got to see what about John & Mary's relationship worked, instead of all the dysfunctional bits; B, I think it really honored her loss in a way that the first episode didn't. Love her or hate her, she deserved to be more than a plot twist, and I think this episode did that for her. Bravo. Excellent points about Mary and John's relationship and Mary's character. I think I like Mary's role in this episode better from this perspective. I agree with JP, I think Sherlock was just trying to lighten the mood, but at the same time indicating he'd like it if John would stay, without putting too much pressure on him to do so. So much for the high functioning sociopath ..... That makes sense. I think Sherlock is so wonderfully transparent, yet subdued in this entire scene in Baker Street. Though I prefer discussing things in-universe (in order to maintain the feeling of these characters being real), I have to give credit to BC again for what a brilliant actor he is!
  25. Just been listening to the soundtrack for TLD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDslKapoVk0&t=1501s Beautiful!
