  1. I don't think I need to put these musings in a spoiler box (this is after all a series 3 news thread), but please correct me if you feel I am wrong: From the trailer, Sherlock seems to be very glib when it comes to handling how he reveals himself to John. This is so much better than what I had considered I honestly thought that even Sherlock would know that he caused John grief, and be a little tentative.... but no, guess not! I love that! It is hilarious. Actually, it would be boring if Sherlock just walked up to John really carefully, sort of apologetic. That could happen, of course, but considering the trailer I believe it will be both humorous, dramatic, and emotional. I've never been more excited about series 3!!
  2. Okay, at first I thought you came up with that one Hadn't seen the trailer until now. That is an awesome line!
  3. Agreed, that was clever. And of course it is true - it is a lot more important for John to know why. The 'how' is just Sherlock showing off which we love, but John might not. And can I just take a moment to squeal about how excited I am about this new trailer? Thanks It is amazing!!!!! I need to breathe. I think i've gone just a tad crazy.

  10. Yes! I actually growl at the TV whenever I see that scene... I love Sherlock, and his manipulative ways can be quite entertaining, but that scene in the canteen... oooh, I just want to slap his face. I hope we get to see Molly tell Sherlock off in series 3, if the occasion rises.

  13. A definite favorite of mine! Oh, the writers of Sherlock are so brilliant! Another John-line (well, followed by one of Sherlock's): Sherlock: "I'm not the Commonwealth". John: "And that's as modest as he gets".
  14. Sounds very possible. Perhaps in the wake of his return, if his friends don't take too kindly to his "stunt". (I hope they won't at first)
  15. About the tears: I honestly don't care either way. I know some people feel it is important to know that Sherlock was sincerely crying, but all I care about is that Sherlock and John are very close friends, proven by all the times they risk their lives for each other, and how they complement each other. Even if the tears were faked, that doesn't change how Sherlock feels about his friend. Personally, I tend to think that he was faking his distress so well that it produced actual tears. Not even in that dire situation, knowing that John would be hurt, do I believe Sherlock to be so overcome with emotion that he was crying. I don't mind it if the tears were real, but I have my doubts. I believe that Sherlock, at this point, was on top (hehe) of the situation, knew what he was doing, and was focused on the task at hand. About your theory, Montag: Though I like to think that Sherlock was more in control of the situation than we might expect, there are also clear indicators that he was shocked and scared throughout the episode. Like when Moriarty plays that 'Story teller' DVD in the cab, or when Sherlock and John encounter Moriarty/Brook at Kitty Reilly's flat. He knows that things are starting to look bad.
  16. Yes, that's a very emotional exchange they have there. When Sherlock first says, "I don't have friends", I've always assumed it is because he generally frowns upon emotional attachment, and doesn't want to recognise it in his own life. As viewers, though, we know of Sherlock's emotional attachment to certain people. The next day, at the graveyard, he has realised that his words must have hurt John, and the need to rectify the situation (make John happy, get himself out of the woods, keep John as his friend) has exceeded the need to distance himself from feelings, and/or maintain his pride.
