Salve!

I am new to this forum and am pleased to see that it is relatively small. Don't get me wrong--I mean that in a good way. How can we be good and, ah, secret detectives if we've got half the world on our forum?

So, I suppose I shall leave it at that and simply wait for a response...

Welcome!

Is Alice really your name? If so, that's awesomeeeee! I've always wanted my name to be Alice, but my parents decided an other name for me :(

Hello Alice! Welcome! :D

Aww thanks! I feel so loved!!!

Yes, Alice is my real name. Well, it's my middle name; my first is Jane. I have just always gone by Alice. (My parents really like those old-timey names. My little sister's name is Edith!!! Seriously!!!!)

Haha, I have a couple of friends who go by their middle names. I myself don't have a middle name, I kind of feel like I'm missing out sometimes. :P (I guess it's a European thing to not have one? Or a Western thing TO have one? I was never really sure how it worked... all's I know is I'm Greek and apparently Greek's don't have middle names)

LOL!!!

I know plenty of people without middle names, and also plenty with...more than one...which, I am sorry to say, I find a little preposterous.

Greetings, Alice! :welcome:

Funnily enough I have two middle names - but I picked one of them myself because you get to pick a confirmation name when you're RC.

I'm not blaming the people who have four names! Since when have people named themselves???

I now you aren't blaming people, I just thought it was interesting as I ended up with 4 even though I didn't start off with them. When I got confirmed as a catholic, you picked the name of a saint who seemed significant to you, the idea being that they would be a guide in ones pursuit of being a good catholic person I think. Don't know if they still do that, I have as little to do with the catholic church as possible now.

Oh that's interesting. I did not know Catholics did that. Well, I kind of feel like an idiot now for even saying anything!

And thank you for editing my post, medic. I don't think that this site and my phone are very compatible...

It's not just your phone, it seems to be the whole mobile editor. We're looking into it. :)

Umm. Sorry for the making you feel like an idiot thing. Wasn't intentional.

Posted

Oh it's okay. :)

And about the mobile thing, the site looks really organized on the iPhone, which is fabulous, when you compare to some other sites...but it's the posting thing that seems to have some issues. Good luck finding the source of the problem. You can use your awesome skills of deduction to help you. :)

If only that applied to these things... :)

Oh I know right? HAHAHA I actually made two Sherlock-worthy deductions today, one was that Mike down the street has a prospective grlfriend because he posted on his blog that he had celery in his refridgerator, and that I left my binder in the library on Monday because my dad drives a Land Rover. Yeah.

I can see the logic in the former, but I fail to see how the latter works... :D

Be happy you have two :P I have just one :(

Okay. :)

The logic in the latter...it is very hard to explain...but there is logic. I assure you.
