Hello everyone! I just registered (as you can see) and i've got a question.. Does anybody know what bag Sherlock uses in The Great Game? The one when he goes to Connie Prince's house. I'm looking for it for quite a while now and I'm desperate to find it. In one month I start university and I thought this is the perfect bag for it.

I would be grateful untill eternity when someone could help me. :)

If this is the wrong place to post, I'm sorry.. As I said, I'm new and I searched the forums for a thread and I haven't found one..

I'm sorry for my bad English, I'm Swiss. :)

Thank you in advance for your help!

I was just thinking the same thing -- Sherlock was pretending to be a photographer, so maybe that's a photographer's equipment bag -- you might check with photography-supply stores or websites.  Probably not cheap!

How come people who have English as a second language and speak it better than I do, always apologize for their "bad English?"

Anyway... welcome museBatch.  (Nice screen name.)  As to the bag.  I'll ask my daughter tomorrow, but in one magazine she reads, you can write in and ask where they get the clothes or accessories on TV shows and they tell you!  Furniture, even.   But I think a month is a very short time to do that.

You could try just calling the production office.  In America, all business have public listings of addresses and phone numbers.  I imagine some nice British poster could at least help you get the number.

Of course, if I know Benedict (and I don't, obviously) it'll end up being something he brought from home that he used to take his dirty laundry home from Harrow when he was 16.

I'm guessing they just borrowed the bag (and the camera equipment) from a professional photographer associated with the program.

On the other hand -- whatever props department the show deals with (Hartswood or the BBC? I'm totally ignorant about that) may well have some professional-looking camera equipment.

On the other other hand -- that could just as easily be somebody's diaper bag!

You've got three hands there, Carol :P

You could check out Sherlockology, they have a lot of information on props and they all so have a online store where you can order some of the products used as props on the show.

I checked aithine's screencaps, but there's no brand name or similar visible:

As Fox and Julia said, Sherlockology and/or calling the BBC might be your best bet.

Or Hartswood.  Sherlockology is generally very good about responding to emails and other forms of communication (see their Contact Us page).

Thanks for posting the screen cap, Martina.  Now that I see the bag again, it looks like maybe ripstop nylon, so perhaps not as pricey as I was thinking.

There are 2 slightly better pictures of the badge on the bag -

but I still have no idea what brand it is.

So far, this is the closest I've found. If it is this bag (with a badge added) then it fits, because this is one of the things said about it - This is the sort of stuff you’ll find in an army surplus store 40 years from now, and in usable condition - which kind of goes with the way things seem to work on Sherlock.

For those who'd like to search for themselves rather than follow the link, it's a Domke F-802 Reporter`s Satchel.

I have looked at it with a magnifying glass and the first two letters look like a c and an o. Can't swear to it though.

We definitely need the next three episodes, like yesterday!

If you call, use the Cardiff number, I'd think.   I'd try emailing first and include a screenshot of the bag.

There's also a contact form right on the webpage here:  http://www.hartswoodfilms.co.uk/contact-us/

Frankly, I'd try Sherlockology first, since they seem to have a close relationship with the Sherlock production people.  But that's just me.

Which would seem to suggest it might be Canon, they are a well known brand and do supply bags as well as cameras but none of the canon bags I could find looked anything like the one in The Great Game.

Thank you very much for all the suggestions! The screenshots are great. I think I can see something like COR.., but maybe the third letter is an A.. It's definitely difficult to see, if not impossible. :(

I'll ask Sherlockology, and if they don't answer I'll try the Hartswood email adress. Thank you very much for it. :)

I'm so thankful for all the input you gave me!

Vintage, maybe?

That's a distinct possibility, if they borrowed the bag from a real photographer.

Which sounds like something they might do, being the sticklers for detail that they are.
