Anyone going to get a chance to go to this?  I believe it is held in Indiana in the USA.  Mark Gatiss has been announced as a guest and I would love the opportunity to hear him talk about Sherlock Holmes.

'Wessex Press is pleased to announce another in its series of blockbuster Sherlockian conferences, FROM GILLETTE TO BRETT IV: BASIL, BENEDICT, AND BEYOND. Devoted to Sherlock Holmes on stage, screen, television, and radio.'

Registrations open on Monday 26th May,

Oh wow!  But no.....I'm busy with the Pirates....and that's quite a trip. But not until September?  Will have to see how finances go between now and then.

Oh, wow, just over in Bloomington?  That's only about an hour's drive from here.  Wish more info was currently available, but I'll be sure to check out that other link when it goes live in the morning.

Wonder whether the name "Gillette to Brett" means that they're not interested in later adaptations, and Mark Gatiss is (apparently) involved due to his interest in general Sherlockiana?  Ooh, no, I tried that other link anyhow, and apparently the full title of the conference is "From Gillette to Brett IV: Basil, Benedict, and Beyond."  That seems pretty explicit!

I would love the opportunity to meet with Mark Gatiss, Mycroft is my second favourite character in Sherlock,  I think he plays him splendidly.  I'm glad that you guys found the link useful.   :bouncy:

You're busy with the Pirates?!?! Which ship lines are you plundering this week?

(Sorry, couldn't resist!) :D

We're getting ready to take local towns away from the militias trying to stop us.....live steel and bronze canons just blazing away.

That sounds really good - Mark Gatiss should be a really interesting guest.

I agree.  But the conference's website makes it clear that there's no guarantee Mark Gatiss will actually be there -- his plans could obviously change by September.  And if his plans should happen to change after the money-back cutoff date, there would be no refund available.  Since the tickets are kind of expensive (though understandably so, considering that the special guests are present for the entire weekend), and since we have no idea whether the other speakers would interest us, Alex and I have regretfully decided to skip this event.

I'd gladly pay a decent chunk to hear Gatiss speak in person, though.
