From Sherlockology:

A little bit wonderful and a must-click link Sherlock fans!
221b Panorama

The photo above is a mere sample. Someone -- apparently Arwel Jones -- has created an entire 360-degree view of 221B. Enjoy! (And if you can explain to me how to make the "3D" view pan around, please do!)

Here's the panorama:

I just click and drag on the picture. It's entirely possible that you might need to update your software before it works, unless it is a regional thing. Someone a bit more tech savvy than me will know that (Undead Medic? Banshee?). It works fine for me.

I had presumed Carol was asking how to embed the panorama here, which by the magic of HTML, I have now done! :D

That too -- thanks, Tim!

But aely answered my question-of-record. Yes, thank you, that works! It goes in the opposite direction from what I'd expect, but what the heck, I'm flexible!

It looks like it could be moving day at 221B (or, in reality, the studios in Cardiff) as Arwel Jones reveals the familiar contents of a non-descript shipping container!

(Follow the link at the top of this post if you'd like to see the unopened shipping container.)

Two more from Arwel Wyn Jones!

Top: Now then, how did you think we did the view out of the windows?
Bottom: An industrious art department!

Nothing from Arwel Wyn Jones since last Friday -- apparently "the set has been dressed" translates to "we're all done"!

Dare we hope that they've begun filming? :)

Dare we hope for new tweets from -- somebody?

Sure wouldn't want 221B to be "The Empty House"!

Hopefully there will be some sort of additional progress reports soon.

Here are some more panoramas, including the fully dressed set:

Oooh! Thanks, Tim! I take it the first two are the ones that we couldn't get to work a couple of weeks ago?

I trust they're all pretty self-explanatory, but here's what accompanied the last one on Sherlockology:

Dressed and brilliant. Who would live in a place like this?

Check out the full panorama from Arwel Jones here: http://www.teliportme.com/view/95021

And a nice little excerpt from that panorama:

We were sent this lovely little message from John Pinkerton creator of the Sherlock Skull Print in 221b.

Thought you might like to see this, I found it in the loft the other day. The original skull painting, one of only 2 in existence (the other being on Sherlocks wall at the moment). - John Pinkerton

I have noticed other shows using similar skull prints somewhere in the background since catching the one in Sherlock. NCIS has one....and I think Elementary does too?

Well, here's another shot of a Pinkerton skull print (the one they're using on the show?), from Sherlockology:

Artist John Pinkerton reveals what other art could have been on the walls of 221B in a new section on his website dedicated to Sherlock.

(My personal favorite is the brown skull painting from March 19th, above. It reminds me of an ancient skull being carefully freed from layers of soil -- an archeological skull, you might say, rather than a forensic one.)

I like the brown one as well. You're right, Carol, it does look like a delicate excavated skull maybe with a casting of bronze.

Posted

Yeah, I like that bronze effect too. It'd look pretty good in my living room.

Maybe the reason the Sherlock people chose the blue skull for the 221B set is that it does look less "archeological" -- and therefore arguably more forensic!

True enough, although in Canon Sherlock seemed to have been at least an amateur archeologist? I know Watson mentioned Holmes' long rambles on the moors and Cornwall visiting the dolmens and studying the languages and histories of the ancient Britons. But the blue will have to do and it's not to bad.
