More of William Gillette. -
See what is headlining the 20th San Francisco Silent Film Festival. Wish I could go!

Oh that is such a lovely movie, very sweet.

For what reason would he be given a knighthood?

Interview with Mark, where he talks about a new role he has just completed and a little about Sherlock and the upcoming special. Loving the hair style. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/11470849/Mark-Gatiss-interview-with-the-Sherlock-actor-for-Coalition.html

William Gillette as Sherlock Holmes -
The BBC have released a clip of about two and a half minutes in length the intertitles are in French though so if anyone can translate that would be good. William Gillette: Five ways he transformed how Sherlock Holmes Looks and talks

Highly recommend, I think they are making an American version, with David Tennant as well, Gracepoint I think it is called.

Downton Abbey (like Sherlock) is shown on PBS here. But Broadchurch apparently is shown on BBC America (when they can spare the time from ST:TNG). Seriously, considering all the backlog of classic BBC programs they could be showing on BBC America, to say nothing of the current crop, why are they running episodes of one particular classic American program as often as eight times a day? I picked up the DVDs of Broadchurch at the local store and watched it all in one weekend. SO good,

Benedict Cumberbatch in "The Imitation Game"
Convict13 replied to Carol the Dabbler's topic in Cast & Crew
I've not seen The Theory of Everything as yet, and I want to, but it would seem the sort of role that the awards like to award, from all reviews and accounts Eddie is absolutely amazing as Hawking and it is a sort of irony really that the role of Hawking stopped Ben winning the Globe. I would be surprised if he didn't get a nomination, but it does seem so many great performances this year and only so many people can get nominated. -

Went to see it again today, enjoyed it much more than the first time. -
Do we have a photo thread? I couldn't find it. Anyway I LOVE this photo, had to share.

I actually remember the Alexei Sayle Show, not particulars, but I do remember it being on the tele. Actually Peter cuts a nice figure as Sherlock.
