(non-BBC-Sherlock) Holmes-related Miscellany

Some BBC stuff and some not... -
Okay, I've so far reviewed the first 7 episodes + TAB, but looking back on it all , I wonder if Moriarty ever accomplished his "I will burn the heart out of you" from TGG or "I will burn you" from TRF. Somehow I think he never really did burn Sherlock, and I'm wondering if we're going to see that in S4.

I have received for Christmas an official 2017 Sherlock calendar. I am happy! -
I will have to avoid Twitter next Sunday in order to skip spoilers, new gifs by the ton, and other things from those who've already seen it.

Really nice Moffat interview.

Check @Anythingbatch on Twitter. She still has it up.

Well in The Dying Detective SH is in bed pretending to be dying, but in from the scenes we've seen via Setlock in The Lying Detective, SH is clearly not bedridden, but he does look quite bedraggled.

I also think that any footage in any trailer we have seen is only from 4.1 and 4.2. They are keeping 4.3 under tight wraps.

Sue Vertue has said that the stuff from Czech may be unauthorized and although it doesn't necessarily contain spoilers, not to share it. Unfortunately that horse has left the barn and gifs are now all over Twitter. Quite frankly, however, there is nothing in it that we also didn't witness with Setlock.

One shock blanket per episode.

Heaven help us. New trailer, Czech. View at your own risk.

I think Moftiss are probably having a good laugh at how people are over-analyzing the photo... http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2016-12-19/what-have-we-learned-from-this-ominous-new-sherlock-promo-picture

They are simply being conservative in what they can say or can't say because only BBC can commission another series, and that is definitely not going to happen until sometime after S4 airs. However, although Ben and Martin have projects lined up for the next 2 years or so, anything beyond that is iffy. That's the way the business works. I'd almost say that any film work lined up after the next year is iffy (unless it's the MCU) because that's the way the industry is... you lose stars, you gain stars, you lose funding, you have scheduling conflicts, etc. That's why it's really not so difficult for Hartswood to put them on the docket for say, three years from now but just not admit it. They have to have enough time and space to get all their players lined up at the same time. Believe me, they have that going on.

It seems that however S4 ends, it creates a wrap-up/reveal to some story threads and probably in some way creates the potential for a story break, much in the way TRF created a 2-yr break before S3. Since they aleady have S5 plotted out, then I think we can safely say that it will not be its own separate thing but will relate back to S4 perfectly.

Not necessarily the end... http://screenrant.com/sherlock-steven-moffat-season-4-final-rumors/?utm_source=SR-FB-P&utm_medium=Social-Distribution&utm_campaign=SR-FB-P&view=lista

The thing with Sherlock is that he is a different character than when he started, in that he has evolved emotionally. But he has never been a completely uncaring sod, especially where women are concerned. i think the first glimpse of this is how he soothed and comforted Sarah after she was nearly killed by Chan's machine. He didn't comfort her for long, but his words were true and tender, and he even rested a hand assuredly on her shoulder. I think his mind palace trip in TAB, especially towards the end, shows him just what a brute he has been also to the women in his life who had feelings for him. In a way, there's a bit of Sir Eustace, Peter Ricoletti, and all the other men who died at the hands of the vengeful brides - in him. What he does with that new found self knowledge and awareness shall be seen in S4. One of these days I will finish my analysis of TAB... nearing 10,000 words now.
