I don't offhand recall that scene. Give me a hint? It's the bit where Sherlock pokes fun at Molly during the little Christmas party, and then finds out that her best present is to him, and then backpedals and apologises.

"Sweet little cuddly thing"... that's what a lot of people think of me 'till they learn about my involvement in fandoms  In fact, that's what I first thought of Molly, and I thought of her that way for a while until the little scrap between her and Sherlock in Scandal.

Shoot the Wall (A.K.A. The Rant Thread)

Oh, I so hated that attitude from adults when I was what I'm guessing must be your age. My parents are really kind and indulgent, but I still detested being dependent on them. I complain a lot about my job now and my workload and so on, but at least I have my paycheck at the end of the month that is all mine, and the only person I have to consider when spending and saving is the husband I chose all by myself. Like my mother always said, at least you don't get any younger. You'll grow up and have your own place and your own funds and will be able to make your own rules (it's past midnight in my time zone and guess who is sitting up in her bed with her laptop on her knees and who had chocolate for breakfast this morning ). It will happen, believe me. Well, that's what I'm holding onto for the time being. Let's see -- currently no connection to grandparents (phone's gone) other than email (which they don't check all that often). Aunts and uncles, same deal. Friends? I used to have a friend group I sat with at lunch, but we broke apart and now there's only two people around. The tables practically deserted. I don't really have close friends at school; my best friends don't even live within biking distance. No connection to my besties right now, other than by email and Instagram, but I prefer to talk things out with them aloud (and alone -- parents are eavesdroppers by trade). Cousins? I have about fifty thousand, all in China, none of their contact info unfortunately. Siblings? Well, he's the screaming baby in my lovely retelling of my stupid sob story, so he's out. So right now, all I've got is me. Tch, good point. Thing is, they get ticked off easily nowadays. Can't blame 'em -- everyone calls me annoying, except my dog and my best friends. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -

Well, I'm pissed. My parents had a bad fight a few nights ago, and I snuck out of my room to get my phone to turn on some music to drown out their and the baby's screaming. And then my stepmom came in all pissed about me taking my phone in at night ('cause I have had a history of texting at night) and confiscated it. And not even three minutes later my dad came in yelling at me about all the "sh*t you pile on top of everything else we have to deal with" and took my laptop as well. Even after that I came out of my room later and told him and my stepmom to stop fighting, then went back into my room and it all went quiet after that. My alarm clock turned over to 4am and my dad came in. He said, "I can yell at you all I want." Because he provides for me; he's the reason I've got a roof over my head and food and wifi. But everything's still tense and he hasn't even attempted to make amends yet, and I haven't heard anything about when I'm going to get my things back. My best bet's a whole week -- that's the usual punishment for going on my phone past bedtime. I'm just angry because my parents don't trust me just because of things I've done two goddamn years ago, and because my dad thinks he can get on this freakin' high horse just 'cause he's the breadwinner. And they wonder why I have agonisingly low self-esteem. -

End of the school year, baby. Waking up's always hard 'round this time. :P Well, for me. Everyone else on here seems to have gotten through school already. -
Egad. I don't know whether to be pleased or insulted. Or maybe just grossed out.... I have to admit, to me that looks more like a Wookie covered in kelp on a rainy night in Georgia. Oh, that's strange. 'Cause to me, "Arcadia" is the most important city in the history of Gallifrey (see: Doctor Who) and the Tulpa to me is in the form that it bore in Supernatural --

Yeah, there's definitely a clear difference content-wise depending on the ratio of male-to-female users. I've noticed that too, especially when I was younger and dabbled in Club Penguin and Webkinz -- Webkinz was mostly girls and was relatively peaceful, while Club Penguin was a surprisingly volatile raging ball of power plays (especially when four male players battled for dominance in the sled minigame!).

The Language (and travel) Thread
Bendydoodle Cantaloupe replied to Carol the Dabbler's topic in Miscellaneous Musings
This reminds me of the alleged "Hardest Poem to Read in the English Language"... Dearest creature in creation, Study English pronunciation. I will teach you in my verse Sounds like corpse, corps, horse, and worse. I will keep you, Suzy, busy, Make your head with heat grow dizzy. Tear in eye, your dress will tear. So shall I! Oh hear my prayer. Just compare heart, beard, and heard, Dies and diet, lord and word, Sword and sward, retain and Britain. (Mind the latter, how it’s written.) Now I surely will not plague you With such words as plaque and ague. But be careful how you speak: Say break and steak, but bleak and streak; Cloven, oven, how and low, Script, receipt, show, poem, and toe. (There's about 10 more verses where that came from, too!) -

Hehe, I must confess, I do curse quite a bit in real life, but at least I'm not as bad as the trash-talking weed-smoking boys at my school who want to do nothing but grab girls. -

Derned if I know. I use this device maybe twice a year, I can barely remember how to turn it on, let alone adjust settings. We (my art group) use it to run credit cards, nothing else. I was gallery sitting and bored. Next time I'll just remember to take my laptop. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard and then scroll down to "Auto-correction" and switch it off (On = green, off = gray). Isn't it great to have a technophile on this site?

Shoot the Wall (A.K.A. The Rant Thread)
Bendydoodle Cantaloupe replied to Banshee's topic in Miscellaneous Musings
No, not really that. The only stressful part of the whole thing with my art was finding a frame that I could fit my work into. I think you may be right, that I am dissociating, but I'm still not sure. It just sort of happens on its own, no particular reason or anything to it. And honestly I don't like opening up much, because a few years ago, close friend of mine practically abandoned me when I told them about some problems of mine. -

Shoot the Wall (A.K.A. The Rant Thread)

Update: I have a damn problem. I keep feeling like things are unreal, or at least surreal. And for some reason the smallest things can make everything slip away. Like looking at myself too long in the mirror, or hearing my ears ringing. Sometimes I feel like the world is an illusion; other times I feel like I'm the one who doesn't exist. I feel like I'm swimming in deep water, but instead of being cold I just feel nothing. Absolutely nothing. Everything feels muted. Like it's coming through a wall and I'm listening by putting my ear to a cup and the cup to the wall. I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm too scared to ask.
