  1. I think I saw it when it first came out but it's going on the rewatch list!
  2. Good idea! I have Netflix and the Dutch version only licences the 'I want to believe' movie (at a 1.5 star rating [emoji15]) but my friend knows how to use an American proxy so I'll give that a go. Now THAT will be a trip down memory lane! Not complaining about the Dutch Netflix though, it has all seasons of Sherlock [emoji3]
  3. I had a Brazillian colleague who told me she lived close to Sao Paulo because it was 3 hours of driving from her home town. I was astonished, when I drive for three hours I'm in a different country (potentially having passed another country or two)!
  4. To be honest, most of it was based on how young/old Benedict looked, lol. Thanks for the compliment about my avatar! [emoji3]
  5. Am mortified but I only got 9 out of 15. In my defence, I've only seen the episodes 1.5 times (the second viewing was more like listening as I was putting data into the computer simultaneously). I'm now doing a proper re-viewing and will hopefully get better [emoji33]
  6. It's an odd thing about fiction - I would be immediately and violently put off by anyone taking matters into their own hands like that in real life, but in fiction, I find myself almost cheering them on if it is well written and suits the character. I guess I should indeed just patiently wait to see how the pregnancy plays out. I just hope we won't be treated to 3 x 1,5 hours of diaper changes and milk burps [emoji28]
  7. Awww, BasementCat in chains! My mother has a cat just like that (although hers has 20 years seniority I guess [emoji1])
  8. Thanks, will do a close rewatch!
  9. No, sorry, I wasn't very clear. I don't mean the door opening up to the street; I always had the impression that the door in the stair case to their appartment was their actual (official) front door - locked in their absence etc. But I could very well be wrong about that seeing how easily miss Hudson walks in and out but from my experience with one-house-appartments with a shared street faced front door, the door inside to the living room would be the true front door. That's what made me (probably wrongfully) feel John would have to leave the appartment to reach his bedroom.
  10. I'm from the Netherlands, the middle part but closer to the German border than to the sea. Still only 1 hour's drive away from the coast though, the Netherlands is tiny!
  11. Lol, sittything, laughed a bit at your user name - that may actually be one of my favourite Sherlock moments :') I should really rewatch the X-Files some day, I loved it so much! I probably still have some home taped episodes on VCR somewhere... if only I had a VCR player...
  12. Thank you for the warm welcome! It is indeed the Preikestolen. I was lucky enough to visit it earlier this year, a breathtaking experience (literally, it's quite an uphill hike!). Absolutely worth it though.
  13. I loved this episode and although the 'surgical precision' bit grated somewhat, I could still live with that. The one thing I would change is Mary's pregnancy - the episode would start with a scene that Sherlock's deductions were wrong and she was never, in fact, pregnant because I really, really, really dislike the thought of a kid on Baker Street as well as the possibility of 'dead child' angst. I'm just not feeling the parenthood angle. I did not even mind Sherlock shooting Magnussen because it showed the lengths to which he would go to protect John, and I did not mind his sense of morals being jumbled a bit - after all, he is a highly functioning sociopath I just felt it was a very powerful and emotional scene and thought it was great that Sherlock could still surprise and disturb us.
  14. What I find most confusing about the layout of the flat is how John reaches his bedroom - does he actually have to go outside through their internal 'front door', use the common staircase, and unlock his own front door to reach it? I somehow always imagined thr flat would have internal stairs (maisonnette style) of itself so he could go to the bathroom without the hassle of changing appartments, so to speak. But I havr no idea how that would fit into the floor plan.
  15. Anoter 'Sherlock forum' Googler here
  16. My user name has been with me since I first started using forums I think. It's a reference to the X-Files, which was the first series I ever completely fell in love with - I had posters and an X-Files desktop theme on my computer including UFO shaped mouse pointer, haha. Tunguska is an episode of said series as well as a real life astroid impact event in Russia. Sadly, the name was already taken on some of the more recent boards I joined but I could once again be Tunguska here! My avatar is a picture of the Preikestolen in Norway. I was there earlier this year for a conference and thought it was stunningly beautiful. Also, I had no idea what kind of avatar to choose for a Sherlock forum.
  17. Hi guys, I'm new to the forums. I've only discovered Sherlock about two months ago, when I finally had the good sense to give it a go and then binge watched throug all 9 episodes in the course of less than two weeks with mister Tunguska. It very quicky grew to be one of my favourite series and the only thing I hate about it is the long wait until we get new episodes (can't imagine what that must have been like for the early adapters!). I love reading fan theories, speculation, and reviews. So I guess this forum is right up my alley. I'm rather bad at speculating myself, though, but we'll see I'm a Dutch female of 28 and a scientist and PhD student by profession. See you around on the forums!
