Holiday-Special News ("Abominable Bride")
Bubu replied to sittything's topic in Special and Series 4
I saw that on my phone earlier and couldn't see the head that well, but um... does that look like a bit like Watson's (Martin's) head? Nooo, I think that's like Benedict -- like the mask from one of the theories in TEH. -

So I've just seen this: Sherlock fans: Okay, writers. You've left too many unanswered questions. You need to go back and explain. Sherlock writers: In the year 1878... Sherlock fans: Whoa, whoa... -
Holiday-Special News ("Abominable Bride")
Bubu replied to sittything's topic in Special and Series 4
Oh, I'm so excited about all this and I don't even know why! :D I have waited for another series and I didn't pay attention to the filming or anything (well, I doubt that it was "watched" like Sherlock's)... The series is back on next week and I'm just like "nice...". But this! They just started filming this and I'm aware that we will wait a long time before it's back on but I'm already excited! I love that feeling Sherlock has about serial killers -- when you've got something to look forward to. :D And about the WIM thing -- some funny ideas you had. But I think even if those are the real initials for the episode, (and I don't think they are -- like for films they always use those "cover" titles) it wouldn't be called something so... simple, if you know what I mean. -
Yes, the two phones make sense... But before I read that, the first thing that popped into my mind was that Sherlock could easily(?) get the phone from Mycroft. I mean, Mycroft also said "It would take Sherlock Holmes to fool me and I don't think he was on hand..." and yet, he was... ;) And welcome to the forum!

Yes, I wondered if someone would vote for Magnussen and I really believe that noone will. Maybe there are people, who are turned on by all his... nastiness but for me (and us, I guess) it's the absolute opposite. Also, poor Anderson. Seems like he won't get a vote either... By the way, I voted Sherlock, Jim and Lestrade. The first two were clear to me rightaway but I was thinking about the third one for a while... Process of elimination. :D

fangirling for dummies...or Hi I'm new here!
Bubu replied to NotMyDate's topic in Introduce yourself here.
Hello, NotMyDate and welcome! I believe there is no such thing as "too old for a fangirl" and here you can "fangirl" all around! This really is a nice and friendly forum, I'm sure you will fit in perfectly.- 14 replies

I don't know why, but I laughed the most on number 4. :D (Not that I'm a bad person, I'd never do that or any other of these probably.)

You were only missing all of the pronunciation marks once you did solve it. The same thing I figured I was missing at that point. Oh, don't mind the "special letters" we have... The cipher is without them as it would take a lot longer to both make it and decipher it and a lot harder for you, guys... (Our alphabet has 46 letters!) And I would say that most of us don't use the diacritics when texting or chatting on the internet.

Happy Birthday Bendydoodle Cantaloupe
Bubu replied to SherlockedCAMPer's topic in Birthday Greetings
I'll join in, too - Happy Birthday! I wish you all the very best! Here, have a cookie -- -
I see... I knew I couldn't completely trust Wikipedia on this one... :D
-
Ah, you got it! Congrats and thanks to all of you. Bendy, do you still want me to answer your question?
-
It still is gibberish. :D I think you just miscounted.
-
No, no. Don't guess. :D And there is no J in the cipher. You don't even know how close you were here. :D No, it's not right. Also, if you started with the ciphered text
-
Yes, I believe you got it! (I think it is the same as): Now that you know what you are dealing with, (well, google it to find out how it works) just connect it with the main clue and after a while you should have the deciphered message.
-
That's quite complicated, I'm not sure I understand it :D but no, that's not it. It's all very 'Roman' for a reason. And the Laurel wreath points (not literally) at what cipher we are dealing with. ;)
-
Yes. Though that is the less important thing you can get from that 15. It tells you what it's all about, but you still need to decipher the message.
-
Yep, that is correct and VERY important. So you have number 15 (that tells two things but one is vital for you to decipher - there you go - it is a cipher) and they are roman numerals. And not just the numerals... Laurel wreath. Roman square capitals (well, my poor attempt really :D) Nope, sorry. Weeell, I don't really know what you meant either, but I wasn't pointing out The Geek Interpreter. Heheh, that I didn't notice. It wasn't intentional.

Well, don't mind the triangles - that is just an "art" thing because I'm on an art school and it is an assignment for an art class. (I won't tell you what the 'topic' was just yet - that would give away the whole message I think...) 1. Red "X" and "V" are quite important. So what is "XV"? (That is the most important clue I would say). 2. The thing that looks like a tire mark is supposted to be stylised bit of Laurel wreath. 3. What is written there - what you see - isn't really a language. That's the thing, you have to figure out what is actually written there. The letters are all capitals with serifs (the little lines at the end of each stroke). So there, I hope I clarified things up a bit. Sherlock has dealt with what this is; with a thing *like* this -- not particularly this one.

Alright, my fellow Sherlockians, here is a tiny challenge (it really is not that challenging I guess). ;) I've just finished doing this - school assignment actually - and tomorrow I'm gonna e-mail it to the teacher. I don't want to make it even easier for you, so I'm not giving any more details now. Last thing -- in the end, the 'message' is in my language but that shouldn't be a problem. Just write what you... get. Here it is:
