  1. Is this Firefox on Windows? If you could send us a screenshot (PM me if you don't have my email!), I can have a better look at it!
  2. At the time, I was very much undecided. I did wonder how much Victorian England could be taken out of Sherlock Holmes before it stopped being, well, Sherlock Holmes. I needn't have worried, really. Because Moffat and Gatiss didn't try to "refresh" Sherlock Holmes into a modern setting, but rather tried to make Sherlock was it was when it was published: contemporary. Slight difference, I know, but it made a huge difference to the result, I think. Plus it's Moffat and Gatiss, and so far, they haven't disappointed!
  3. Yay! Have to install this on my phone now...
  4. I absolutely love the episode. And I love the way, without trying, Irene manages to get Sherlock wrapped around her little finger to the extent that when she disappears and gets in trouble, Sherlock runs after her to the rescue. Sherlock, who prides himself on not caring and being detached because attachment does not help solve problems, suddenly finds himself very much attached to her. And she didn't even try! Also, it has some of the best quotes in the whole series... "Get off my sheet", "I apologise for my little brother." - "A full time occupation, no doubt.", and "I also had tea at the palace" are up there in the best quotes ever list
  5. Yeah, well... They are going to try so hard to be different that they are going to end up being the same...
  6. Heeeeello! Love the icon, btw!
  7. Hello and welcome! Hope you enjoy the forum! Location: Bristol, United Kingdom...
  8. Gingerbread men, anybody?
  9. Oh, definitely Molly is in on it! Someone needs to sign the death certificate, after all... :-)
  10. Stop. Mocking. Me
  11. Not my fault if people have interesting coats that fit them nicely, is it? ^_^
  12. Suits AND coats, not much more one could ask for...
  13. Lots of very good points Will need to re-read it when my brain is awake. At the moment, it just keep playing with different scenarios of how Watson will react in series 3 when things are revealed...
  14. I think that just about sums it up It is really good, but just pales in comparison to the rest of the series It does still have some really good moments!
  15. I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw the references! Shelock standing up in the rocks with coat flowing behind him reminded me too much of Jack not to notice. Plus all the "scary countryside" situation... I was just hoping someone would mention camping
  16. Fanfic will always find a way...
  17. I think that is why so many Torchwood fans love Sherlock. It's the kind of witty and sarcastic we used to get in S1&2, but to the max. It's one of the things that I love about the show ^_^ That's always good, in my book!
  18. I have to admit I love this episode. The way Sherlock puts Watson up to look after the Bruce-Partington plans (nice refernece to the original stories there) while he plays along with the game, the way Watson doesn't notice what Sherlock is doing, is absolutely great. Plus it makes me insanely happy that the pool scene was filmed in Bristol South Swimming Pool. It looked like Bristol South when I first watched it, but I thought it probably was some other Victorian-style pool somewhere else in the country, but Sherlockology confirm it is Bristol South
  19. Hello and welcome! I think the BBC series has opened the door for a lot of people to get familiar with the original Arthur Conan Doyle stories. For a lot of people, the original stores are period drama, as they can't see past that. Moffat and Gatiss have given us a modern day Sherlock, and that may intrigue some enough to go and read the originals! :-) Anyways, hope you enjoy the forum!
  20. Hello and welcome! Hope you enjoy the forum!
  21. Ahm... I think we have. If you look to your right right now, I might be the crazy one sitting there with a matching laptop and editing your forum to get things to show up where they can be seen
  22. i for once would not mind Cumberbatch as the Master. Not one bit. I wonder if he would keep the collar form the John Simm incarnation...
  23. Absolutely agree about the 90 minutes. Heck, I didn't even notice that the episodes are 90 minutes the first time I watched them! There's so much going on you don't have time to even glance at the clock I think you are right, the writers expect a smart audience. I can't remember who it was, but there was a famous(ish) writer that said a while back that "if the readers can't follow my books, then maybe they shouldn't be reading what I write", or words to that effect. I think by not catering to the lowest common denominator across all possible audiences, the show drags in people who are disenchanted with predictable, formulaic TV shows. And goodness knows there's a lot of us out there, given what's been airing recently... *bites tongue to avoid mentioning that disaster*
  24. Yay! Welcome!
