  1. I just sing now (I'm an alto), though every so often I do get out my recorders (descant and treble) but I am woefully out of practice. I used to play the piano, could make a reasonably decent noise on the guitar and learned the viola in school. I would love to learn how to play the saxaphone!
  2. Hello!
  3. Good.
  4. I'd taken no double rooms to mean that it was a twin bedded room though I suppose it could have been a single just as easily.
  5. I like the ep, but it's not my favourite by any stretch of the imagination. I also feel quite cross with Sherlock about certain things, the 'lab test' on John being one though still in character. I also wish there'd been a bit more resolution as I can't imagine John being AOK with having been manipulated like that and then on top of it having to deal with someone being blown up by a land mine - that would *not* have been a good thing for him I'm sure.
  6. Ta. Funnily enough Rupert Graves is my choice too. I think he's done wonderful things with the character of Lestrade and it doesn't do any harm that I find him very umm personable.
  7. Got to pick one though... to start with at least, once everyone has posted who looks like they're going to post, then we get to pick another!
  8. Me? I love them. I was very shallowly interested in seeing what RDJ would do with the character having decided that he was most definitely worth looking at in Iron Man - had never paid much attention to him before that. I also squeaked at various intervals in the first one because I recognised bits of Liverpool, but I do that for pretty much any film where it isn't obvious. I'm not very good about being constructively critical when I love something as I tend to get swept away on a tide of OMG LOVE THIS and don't really notice the shortcomings. I did have a 'but they didn't know how to do that back then!' moment in the second film with regards to a certain medically-related procedure but that's me all over.
  9. This one? redscharlach is a very talented person and responsible for a good percentage of my LJ icons
  10. If there were to be a full weekend Sherlock convention (as opposed to a signing event), who would you like to see as a guest? I think we maybe should rule out both Martin and Benedict because, hey, we'd all like to see them but they are also the most unlikely to ever *be* a guest due to the probable cost of obtaining them and the fact that they are busy, busy people. Limit yourself to one person to start with (so we don't run out too soon) so pick your #1 guest wish even if it is a minor character. It doesn't matter if someone else has picked that person before you, if you want to see them, that's who you choose. If so inclined you can go into detail as to *why* you'd like them as a guest. I'll be nice and let someone else go first as if people have been reading other posts I bet they'll know who mine would be and some of my reasons are very, very shallow.
  11. Yup. Paris/Kim mostly and written a fairly long time ago now. Still have a soft spot for Harry Kim, though...
  12. Really. (thanks to redscharlach for the icon) I thought that would be *obvious*
  13. I'm not really thinking about anything - I'm kind of waiting with fizzy anticipation to see how *they* sort it out! I want more competent Lestrade (not a surprise, I'm sure), more loyal Molly, more BAMF John and more inscrutable Sherlock and I think I stand a good chance of getting all of those.
  14. Just wish the outcries were more successful sometimes (and I'm not just talking about certain aspects Torchwood here, but also The Dresden Files which is another series close to my heart that was ended too soon IMO and Firefly is another thing altogether). I'm glad ACD had his mind changed.
  15. Usually... unless you're wearing someone elses (like a dead realtives/freinds) or you're trying not to be 'obvious' about something.
  16. I have nothing concrete to add but Molly definitely plays a part. One thing I did think about... Talking of the OoC stuff a friend and I rewatched the ep and ended up up shouting 'out of character!' at so many things it was getting silly.
  17. There are a few asexual Sherlock fics that make the point that Asexual does not necessarily equal Aromantic and an asexual but romantic Sherlock is rather sweet.
  18. Thanks! Only a couple of Sherlock fics btw and they're the most recent
  19. I need to find you a link to a poly fic that I read with a believeable and loving Mary. It's still John/Sherlock though so don't worry. and here we are... A Conversation Held with the Lamp Switched Off
  20. Can I decorate mine as I want?
  21. I love John/Sherlock (don't like using johnlock as I really have a thing about smushed names and identity - I'm a bit weird like that) but it's not my #1 favourite pairing - that dubious honour goes to John/Sherlock/Lestrade (I really have a thing for threesomes) or John/Lestrade. What made me start shipping them? Why does it rain in Liverpool? Some things are just made that way, me being one of them. I can imagine Lestrade and Sherlock sidestepping around the issue for years, with Sherlock choosing to ignore any physical attraction (someone wrote a piece of meta that highlighted the fact that Sherlock never self identifies as anything onscreen; gay, bi or asexual but also doesn't identify as not-gay, not-bi, not-asexual for that matter, just 'not my area') until along comes John Watson who kind of upsets the applecart. This Lestrade strikes me as the sort of person who would be very curious about someone who is so obviously *good* for Sherlock and my little brain takes it from there... I would probably ship this Lestrade with anyone as Rupert Graves makes me go wibble.
  22. I think he would make a great Master, but I have no idea if it would actually happen. If he kept the collar I would be very happy...
  23. I like the graphite skin too. Oh well, I think changing it would be a good idea for me atm as it does annoy me. Thanks for the info!
  24. So, do you view Sherlock with slash goggles or are you just carried away by the epic bromance (I actually hate that word, but it is useful)? Do you think that John and Sherlock are at it like bunnies whenever they get the opportunity or are they too close for that (and is Sherlock asexual anyway)? Has Lestrade's marriage simply been a marriage of convenience to cover up his sexuality (police force back in the 80s wouldn't have been very forgiving after all) and he's had the hots for a certain consulting detective for years (wouldn't blame him, personally)? Do you think he wonders about what it would be like with both Sherlock and John or do you think he'd soon as smother the both of them and run after Molly? Is Mrs Hudson's relationship with Mrs Turner more than that of just neighbours? Is Mrs H the one who put in the hidden cameras just to keep an eye on any possible shenanigans in 221b (and then invite certain people round to watch the results). What is Mycroft's relationship with his brolly? Are Donovan and Molly secretly best mates (secretly, because they just *know* what Sherlock would be like about it)? If you have a favourite pairing/threesome/moresome, why not share it here? I realise that there will no doubt be lots of John/Sherlock plus John and Sherlock fans here (hey, I'm one myself) but I think it would be nice to find out the less common pairings that float people's boats - romantic and otherwise.
