  1. I've never seen Love Actually (not a rom com fan) but now I'm thinking I might dare it...

Watson is seen again in flashback in Sanctuary S3 here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsWkegpFd4U

    Sanctuary

Not exactly Sherlock Holmes but Peter Wingfield's character James Watson is, in this universe, supposed to have been the inspiration for Sherlock Holmes. There's a series of linked vids showing his first appearence in the series. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPluDvRy_mU
  4. Sophie Aldred as one of Lestrade's more senior colleagues (a fellow DI or DCI or whatever) Emilia Fox as Harry Watson
  5. A resounding yes please for Neil Gaiman!
  6. Judi Dench as Mummy! If we're touting for a Hobbit reunion I'd want Richard Armitage as well as Aidan Turner. Agree with Gareth David Lloyd and Burn Gorman too. As for me, I'm always happy to see Peter Wingfield in anything (even though he is busy learning to be a doctor right now) and it would amuse me considering who he plays in Sanctuary. I would be over the moon if Christopher Lee could have even a cameo part.
  7. The piano is a weird thing - it's easy to knock out a melody line if you have a reasonably good ear for music but getting both hands to co-ordinate is so difficult! I started learning to play the piano when I was about 9 and stopped when I was about 17. I wasn't too bad if I had the chance to learn both hands seperately and then put them together once I'd memorised the piece. I was hopeless at sight reading unless it was something I already knew from singing in choir/playing recorder/whatever (had been in choirs since I was 7). I always detested practising! My crowning achievements of my piano playing were being able to play the Moonlight Sonata *well* and finally managing to get my hands around Bridge Over Troubled Water - it kind of went downhill after that. The piano moved from my parents house to mine but when I realised I hadn't opened it in over 5 years, never mind tried to play or get it tuned I got rid of it and got a sideboard instead which was much mmore useful!
  8. I thought this one might sneak in... Really pleased about these two and all....
  9. Keeping fingers crossed for summer! The last series was being filmed in London while the riots were happening in August and we had an airdate less than 5 months later. Actually remembering that has made me realise something... a poster on LJ commented once that in TRF in the shots of John on the ground by Barts it almost looked like it was snowing. What if it was ash from the fires? Hmmmm.
  10. I suppose a corset is next on my list of essentials on a nigtht out...
  11. Thanks to this thread, I am now watching a tenor recorder on ebay...
  12. and last but not least, these... (oh and I have more of these grey smilies)
  13. I have a few, so feel free to use any or none of the following... If I had to make one request for a smilie it would be this one...
  14. I am *so* unattached to my phone it's untrue! I'm always leaving it behind but then I've only had a phone I can use as a phone and not a texting device for about 6 months. None of these iphones, androids or blackberries are hearing aid compatible to the extent that I need and are therefore useless to me. Probably why my fan is so important! As for places to carry them... wear a corset and shove the phone in your cleavage! Can cause some interesting effects if put it on vibrate.
  15. what item are you never without? Can be clothes, accessories - anything in fact! And the out can include conventions, holidays, gigs/concerts/theatre as well as nights out. I'll even start the ball rolling.... The #1 thing I take everywhere with me when I go out (besides when I'm grocery shopping) is a fan. A nice black lace fan (or black reinforced paper sometimes) and not a horrible battery operated whizzy electric one. I never ever go anywhere without one as varying bands, convention guests and friends can testify. I am the official number 1 fan of at least 3 bands...
  16. But which bit caused the big grin? Another thing I would like to do would be to buy a new tenor recorder - I always loved the tenor the best of all the recorders we had at home (my sister played the sopranino as well as the others) but mine died a death some years ago and I've never replaced it. Probably cheaper than a sax and I wouldn't have to learn how to play it! One of the reasons for wanting to learn the sax would be that I could then join the 'family' brass band (dad plays trumpet, nephews play tenor horn and euphonium and niece plays cornet).
  17. Deviant 3 has purple! This is perfect for me - now I'm not piddled off at Graphite being silly for me anymore!
  18. LJ - but it was a post from a certain admin on my friends list so does that count as word of mouth too?
  19. My #1 obsession at the moment is a band called Obsessive Compulsive - I follow them all round the north west when I can. Funnily enough I discovered them when they supported Blue Gillespie one time. Have a link to one of their tracks - www.youtube.com/watch?v=vp7V5tbcYs8 I like all sorts of bands and artists though I do identify as 'alt' in my music taste in general (I'd say 'goth' but I don't just like goth!) The bands I'm currently ,listening to the most are:- Pro-jekt (no longer around but have a link - www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGSfAfDuvXM) Crüxshadows (www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcqEZapjf7g) Abney Park (www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE30zCyBhoo) The Last Dance (www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDywDR3pnCk) Sunday Driver (www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfHFtt0tqfk) Violet Fury (www.cdbaby.com/cd/violetfury - no vids that I can find) Alice Moving Under Skies (www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKOtF5IEuGg) O Children (www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmcHPk8_1N8)
  20. Highlander (the first one... in this case, there *should* have been only one) for all other series included I mean all of them, yes, even Star Wars (though I do prefer the originals) Star Wars Harry Potter Lord of the Rings Monty Python and the Holy Grail Monty Python's Life of Brian The Matrix Sherlock Holmes (Ritchie) Iron Man Nightmare Before Christmas The Princess Bride Labyrinth The Crow Gladiator
