Ha! That's the thing though, any scenario involving Sherlock and a baby seems like fanfic territory, I just can't get my head around it in the show - too weird!
-
Hello! I'm wondering what people are predicting for the baby? I just can't imagine the series with a baby in it, seems too out of character for the show, and I really don't want it to turn into one of those shows where the baby keeps getting threatened or kidnapped. Also, as far as I'm aware (correct me if I'm wrong ;) ) John doesn't have kids in canon, do you think they'll make such a big change? Do you think the baby will die? The baby isn't John's? Or will Mary have the baby and it'll just be an aside that we know John has a child but we never really see them? I'm really interested in everyone's opinions!

Feeling a bit slow here but where was David mentioned? Don't remember him...? -
Ok, so I know this will have been discussed before, but why does Lestrade let Donovan get away with calling Sherlock freak? He's there because Lestrade called him in, and as a senior officer referring to a consultant as 'freak' is shockingly unprofessional. Also, why does she hate him so much? She might not trust him but going out of her way to be so insulting seems a bit extreme, does anyone know why?

Yes, I get the impression that the fee offered is definitely out of the norm. This is off topic but I've always wondered why Sherlock even needs a flatmate. He clearly comes from a well to do family and doesn't seem remotely interested in getting paid for his work which makes me think he doesn't actually need a flatmate for monetary reasons at all. However he also doesn't seem like someone who would want a flatmate just for the company. The other thing I wonder about is where he was living before. I saw a theory somewhere that he had just come out of rehab, but I don't know if I believe that. If that were true though perhaps he needs a flatmate as a kind of distraction to try to keep him from the temptation of relapsing...?

Moffat's "we've missed it" statement...

I think it's something to do with Mary, because she's clearly on the run from someone after doing something bad (killing someone important). As it stands I don't see the point of them making her into an assassin, she shoots Sherlock but since he and John forgive her there isn't really any long-standing point to it. If Sherlock needed to be shot for the plot it could just as easily have been Janine, who could have said she was going after John next hence giving Sherlock the impetus to fight to survive. I think there has to be more of an arc to Mary's story otherwise it just seems like a pointless aside. Even factoring in the idea Sherlock killed CAM to protect Mary's secret it's a bit over the top if her history is never revealed or mentioned again. It's also pretty clear she never intended to become pregnant and as such she's now found herself in a pretty vulnerable position if she's still being hunted. I also think her initials on the flash drive might be important, I know someone earlier (can't remember who sorry!) mentioned it related to The Sign of Four, but just wondering if it'll be significant in the show. Something else I found odd, and I'm wondering if it stuck out to anyone else, was that in TAB Sherlock reiterates multiple times to John that 'it's never twins' which immediately made me think there was a twin storyline coming up. He's so adamant it just seemed like something that was going to be disproved. -
I read one recently which was good enough to get me back into the fandom, I was keeping my eye on it waiting for it to be completed for months! Definitely angsty since John had some of Sherlock's supposed crimes pinned on him after Sherlock's death and was sent to jail. He's out of jail in the fic but there are a lot of flashbacks of what happened to him. It's a really good case fic too and quite in character. An Innocent Man By: Fang's Fawn "And what about John Watson?" Sherlock had asked. He had expected a rather dull answer...after all, he had been away. He had not expected to hear that John had spent the past two years in prison. Series 3 AU. Not slash. Rated: Fiction T - English - Angst/Mystery - Sherlock H., John W., Mycroft H., DI Lestrade - Chapters: 42 - Words: 191,892 - Published: Apr 13, 2014 - Status: Complete https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10266951/1/An-Innocent-Man What are your favourites, Grey? I'm always looking for more to read!

The bills definitely have overdue stamped on them (just checked it on Netflix, sad I know, lol). I suppose it's possible they are John's from his previous address. I agree it doesn't seem like they've worked together much yet, so the more than a few weeks but less that a few months seems about right

That's really interesting because the idea of John being concerned Sebastian would think they were together hadn't even occurred to me. Kind of linked, in relation to how well they know each other, how long do you think they are meant to have been living together at this point? They are already getting overdue bill letters so must be more than a month surely? Not that I imagine Sherlock would be someone you could get to know quickly even if you were living with him.

This must have been discussed earlier (I scanned quite a few of the pages, but with over 20 I might have missed it), but I was wondering what people's opinions were on John correcting Sherlock referring to him a friend by saying he's a colleague. Even if this is fairly early in their relationship it seems a bit harsh, especially when Sherlock seems to be saying friend almost defiantly, as if to point out to Sebastian that he can make friends, and then is completely undermined by John correcting him. Even at this stage John must feel that he and Sherlock are more friends than colleagues, they do live together after all. I really hate Sebastian's smug smile that Sherlock would try to pass off a colleague as a friend, like he is so alien he has no idea of the difference. So what does everyone think? Is there a reason behind this I'm missing? Why does John do it?
