Hmm. When my face is mashed into a car door I have the courtesy to allow someone else to do it. -
Anti-vax morons, yes m-o-r-o-n-s , should have shirts made up saying, 'Make Polio Great Again.' Edjits.

Another piece of my childhood has passed. Thank you, Peter and RIP. 😪 -

I think, Jamie, what you're asking for are books containing stories of the Sherlock characters, which are in themselves adaptations of the original stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. I don't believe there are any Sherlock pastiches at the moment. It might be something to consider writing. 🤔

There's nowt wrong with a bit of Wensleydale but I'm sure it could be a bit grating. -

Wait. Cleggy's voice on a GPS? How weirdly wonderful. -

That's why I plan my route before heading out. I keep the map open and look at it when I stop if necessary. -
Disney Star Wars has been rather disappointing to me. I'm afraid Star Wars has been relegated to streaming service viewing for me.

I hate GPS and use maps. Map reading was a required skill when I was growing up. -
Those cats are... unsettling.

I've had a gmail account from almost the first day they started offering it. However, I don't stay logged in to google. I check my mail and log out. I also use the duckduckgo search engine that doesn't track anything.

Yes, Rowe was a wonderful Holmes. I thought that it was a very good idea to use Rowe for that.

Introverts, how is your day?

Was this his sister that died? If it is then you need to be very considerate of his feelings. If he's getting on your nerves then you might consider doing a couple of activities that he really enjoys to help him forget his sorrows for a little while. Perhaps he'll take a greater interest in that activity and you'll get more time for yourself. -
Like many people of a certain age, Rathbone was my first Holmes and his features are indelibly linked in my mind as the 'true' Sherlock Holmes. As a kid, it was my mum that loved Sherlock Holmes (indeed all mysteries) and whenever one of his films was on the telly you couldn't get a look in. Fortunately for me, I was enamoured with Holmes right from the start. While Rathbone is the 'look' of Holmes, it is Brett that embodies the character the best to me. I'm not sure if it was Brett that inhabited Holmes or the other way round. In either case, Brett is probably the best canon Holmes we'll see for some time to come.

Yes, documentaries or docu-dramas. Straight dramas I can take on a case by case basis.

This didn't get a mention in The Guardian or The Times. That's just wrong. Am I going to have to resort to the Mail now? 😱

I love Sherlock Holmes and good mystery programmes, however, I don't like true crime stories. Knowing that it's real puts me right off.

Actually, the reference pre-dates Harry Potter. It's a line from one of my favourite Rowan Atkinson programmes Thin Blue Line. I am a huge fan of Atkinson and that line always stuck with me. Chocolate frogs made by Cadbury were around long before Harry Potter. I found the scene here and you can see the frog in question. -
I know for a fact that some vaccinations cause problems but this is true of any medication. A small percentage will always have side effects. It's unfortunate, however the good for all is worth the risk I believe. Anti-vax people should go around with hats saying "Let's Make Polio Great Again!" When I was at school we had our jabs at school and if we missed the day then we had to provide proof that we got them from a doctor. I think my mum may even still have my vaccination card. As for flat-earthers, morons one and all.

Good for you for teaching your kids a second language. I speak three, my Latin is fair, and my Greek is... well not great to be honest. Learning languages, any languages, open doors. How does one go about looking foreign?
