  1. And tumblr goes dead quiet.....
  2. Just to pass the time......
  3. Agreed. Tumblr will go WILD. And yes this forum needs to get a tumblr blog... They will probably put it officially on Twitter with some sort of link for the ROW fans to a video. I am going to go workout and when I return, all will be revealed! ( "ROW" is "rest of world" )
  4. There's a STID interview with BC where he is asked if he liked playing a bad guy. In a tumblr post with a few gifs of it, the poster puts on the gif "waffleBatches for ten minutes" then he finally says, "Yes, I do." Classic BC. Thus "waffleBatch" entered the official BC fandom lexicon.
  5. Well, BBC1 already said a couple days ago there will be an announcement at the end of TRF tonight. Or, for Americans, this afternoon. (They are also announcing the new Doctor on Sunday night.) So, we'll know in a couple hours. Our tumblrs will explode, if nothing else! This forum needs a tumblr blog, yanno?
  6. The word around Tumblr, and I think it was from some semi-official source, is that the big reveal happens Friday night right after Reichenbach airs. That's why I'm suspecting a trailer. They are still denying they have an airdate, so possibly we will get that or something like "December 2013." I imagine Sherlockology will post immediately.
  7. Mine, also. But - for old eyes, there is something about the letter/bg contrast that's hard on the eyes after a while. Having made a few forums myself, I suspect too much contrast. Actually, less contrast is easier on the eyes. But I use it anyway because it's gorgeous and I love the way the pics look on it. Here comes one now...
  8. Well, here's the latest. I'd be happy if they explained IOU this season.
  9. I like Carol's idea about a third party being able to listen in. But my theory would be as part of the plan to convince any of Moriarty's people still hanging around that he did what he was supposed to. Also, Sherlock carefully leaves his phone on the roof before he falls. Why do you think he did that? It's still a possible plot device that Moriarty dies so far back on the roof it wouldn't be visible to his henchmen and there could be value in convincing them he is still alive by using his phone to send them text messages. In fact, all that Sherlock walking around in distress after Moriarty dies might have been an act to convince Moriarty's men he is upset about having to jump, as if Jim just finally convinced him.
  10. Moffat and Gatiss were pretty emphatic at the ComicCon charity panel that Moriarty is dead-dead-dead. Moffat was obnoxious about it, actually. (So what's new?) I'm trying to think of heads we've seen in front of the 221B door and the only one I can think of is Sherlock, when he finds the door busted in. Are we sure this isn't him? Coming home?
  11. Those are stray hairs below the ear and next to the jaw. I'm thinking Irene Adler. It would go along with the quote here and she certainly was "dangerous." (Of course, she never did use the door, did she?)
  12. But they already announced who that is. So it wouldn't be much of a reveal.
  13. Oh, goody! Something to investigate.
  14. Hello! Welcome. My tmblr is: http://thesherlockedblog.tumblr.com/ (I just followed you) But it's all just BC now. My blog is: http://thesherlockblog.blogspot.com/ Which is ALL the show and characters and stuff. My OTHER BLOG IS: http://thebeautifulbenedictcumberbatch.blogspot.com/ Because there's no such thing as too much BC You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/user/wrytermom Never been much for private messaging. I like forums to chat in because I know there are more lurkers than posters and this way everyone gets to be part of the conversation. You are lucky to start late - some people will have waited three years for their next episode. What other fandoms have in quantity, we make up for in quality. Remember:
  15. You know it never occurred to me John would be close enough to hear anything. But that makes sense. Only, why go to the trouble of dressing the sound-effect-making thingy in Sherlock's coat?
  16. I'm guessing a trailer at least and maybe an air date.
  17. August 1st it will be 5 months to the New Year.
  18. I missed this post before. So, for a sound effect? You have an interesting brain! I never would have considered sound effect. For our benefit or for someone lurking nearby?
  19. He was also given a drug that caused fear. But we did see him afraid before, in The Great Game at the pool when he is afraid for John, ripping the bomb off of him.
  20. It's a deadbolt, so you have to turn something to lock it. Maybe she thought John would be coming right back down and just didn't bother. Maybe Mr. Chattergee was having tea with her and snuck out after she went upstairs, leaving the door unlocked. Maybe she's just an old bag like me and thought she locked it and forgot. (Yesterday I put the salad away in the freezer.)
  21. I didn't have anything to add, I just thought it was nice to finally have a place to use this: (Hey! A saber's a saber, yanno? Unless it's a sabre, but still...)
  22. If it was, it wasn't for long! (nonono - Molly-supplied previously deceased? If you can populate a whole plane with dead people, I suppose you can shove one off a roof.)
  23. Yes, I wondered about that, but I take it to mean that we don't see him jump off "The Roof" but rather we see him take a short hop off a stand-in roof. Which, come to think of it, may be a third roof. It's obvious if you look at screenshots from the show that some of the shots are not of Cumberbatch. I guess I could post a bunch of pics, but... I don't think there's any way to stretch "That's not me..." into meaning something else, either. Especially when it follows logically from "That's me up on the roof." Now, I'm all good with stuntmen doing dangerous falls. But BC does the fall himself, he does the suspended in air himself. Why would they bother with a stuntman? Someone of something fell at speed onto the sidewalk. It wasn't Sherlock.
  24. Taking this as a bit of an overstatement-for-effect, I fully agree. It ain't really about the mysteries, they mostly serve as a framework to hang the interesting stuff on. (Actually, I suspect that's true of most "mystery" shows, with the obvious exception of Ellery Queen.) I see we are posting at the same time. You know, I was being facetious, but thinking about it... they wouldn't be doing it silently, would they? They are funny and competitive ("No way I was going to pass up even nearly punching Benedict in the face.") and being a fly on the wall at any meeting of theirs would probably be at least as entertaining as watching them say lines people wrote for them.
  25. I don't know how relevant this is, but, listen to what BC says here about falling: "That's me, that's me up on the roof. That's not me jumping off the roof. It's me jumping off a smaller roof onto a sort of lower roof which is about four feet, and then that cuts to me on a wire...." Here, he ends up on the inflatable. We see someone else jumping off the roof.
