His Last Vow filming (MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!)
bborchar replied to bborchar's topic in Rumours & Speculation
It could be a ruse, of course...but there just seem to be too many things pointing to it. Plus it also happens in the canon. I would love to see what goes on it Sherlock's mind, though. Won't that be a trip? Lol. -
His Last Vow filming (MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!)
bborchar replied to bborchar's topic in Rumours & Speculation
So, with more filming, and combing twitter, it really does look like something happens to Sherlock, because: 1. There's an ambulance scene using BC's double 2. There's a hospital scene 3. There's apparently a scene IN Sherlock's mind (with this woman): http://24.media.tumblr.com/6bd19802f52a92c5e6e903453e6dead4/tumblr_ms1sv7ZsK21ssysngo2_1280.png 4. There's a scene with Sherlock wearing something that exposes his legs and slippers, as well as an IV drip This is definitely shaping up to be an interesting episode! -
They DID shoot fake scenes to throw us off!
bborchar replied to Julia Mae's topic in Rumours & Speculation
I'm betting that Moriarty and Mycroft walking out of the hospital is fake, because Moriarty is wearing Sherlock's coat...which makes no sense. That and the hypnotist scene. -
I just don't know how a ringing telephone would be important at that moment.
-
^This. Plus we don't know exactly how long John is down...is it real time or do they slow it down? I don't know what the ringing sound is, I just always assumed it was a sort of sound effect to make us "hear" what he's hearing, like ringing in his ears from getting knocked down.
-
I can understand the fans taking pictures, but I would think the professionals have better things to do right now.
-
I don't know why that would be for you, television is not a better way of reproducing digital sound. The computer version would be most accurate with less interference. I promise you, what you describe is simply not there. Not necessarily true. It all depends on the type of video file it is and whether the sound was uncompressed, lossless or lossy. Use the latter, and you will end up with lost information. And of course, it depends on what kind of television set-up you have as to what kind of sound you will hear on a tv show. If you have a network like FIOS, an HD capable box, and a good surround sound system, the sound you hear will be the same as you would get on a blu-ray, because you're receiving (and processing) the same information as you would from a disc.

I didn't mean that the "Hello" couldn't (really) be there, just that if it is there and if it is significant, I consider it kinda dirty pool on Moftiss's part, especially considering that Gatiss quote in my previous post. (I'm not saying that it actually is there, either, because I haven't tried listening for it.) How many of you hear the "Hurry!" in the candy factory? I thought I might have heard it once, but if it's there, it's equivalent to Gatiss's "blowing up the image 65 times." Maybe it's one of those things that only people under 50 can hear. Maybe this "Hello" is another! (And if you play the episode backwards, it says, "Paul is dead.") I do agree that a lot of what people are considering clues are actually production artifacts (good term!) due to filming The Fall without actually killing Benedict Cumberbatch, etc. I've heard the whispering in the candy factory every time, but there's a bigger clue there than the whispering...the candle being blown out and the children being moved almost immediately after they enter the factory that corroborates the whispering. But that's not one of the mysteries we are supposed to get...they said that we were supposed to be able to figure out how he survived the fall with the clues given...which, hopefully, I've done. Those clues are obvious (the body lying in the wrong position, the bicyclist hitting John, the lack of a pulse and the rubber ball), that once you start piecing them together, it leaves you with the answer (which I think is that he fell on something). I don't think Moffat is being smug, he's simply stating "hey, we've given you the clues to figure this out while you wait for the next series". The rest of the episode, however, is full of clues that we can't make logical sense of because we don't have all of the information.

His Last Vow filming (MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!)
bborchar replied to bborchar's topic in Rumours & Speculation
That's the story...I knew I remembered it from somewhere. And of course, Holmes gets ambushed in "The Illustrious Client" (but plays his injuries up). So I wonder how they will fit this all together? And I'm definitely wondering what happens to Sherlock. Hopefully he gives the nurses hell -
I hear nothing of the kind on my blu-ray with my speakers turned up on full. Or on the Japanese version of the dvd. Sorry.
-
So, they are currently filming "His Last Vow", and there are some reeeeeally interesting things going on...I don't want to have to use spoiler tags, because there is so much stuff that it will be hard to talk about it if I have to hide it...so I tagged the thread instead. And I will repeat it here: SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 3 AHEAD! Okay, now... 1. Sherlock is dressed as a hobo?!: http://i3.walesonline.co.uk/incoming/article5748370.ece/ALTERNATES/s1227b/zzmh180813sherlock-004JPG-5748370.jpg 2. It's really looking like something bad happens to Sherlock, because there's a scene where he meets up with Magnussen (bad guy) and he looks like he might be wearing a hospital gown and an IV drip in an Italian restaurant (ha ha, can't wait to see that). There are also scenes in what appears to be a hospital with nurses, doctors and surgeons, and a scene with an ambulance. http://dudeufugly.tumblr.com/post/58550311663/spoilers-sherlock-series-3-roundup-august-18th 3. Sherlock is apparently rescued from a drug den by John (no pictures of that, just what I read on twitter). 4. This episode seems to take from "His Last Bow", "The Illustrious Client", and "The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton". So, any thoughts?

Don't worry...I don't have clearance to get to the top of the tallest building here anymore Just illustrating that many US fans were introduced late to the show, and that even new fans can love it as much as old fans.
-
Glad to know that, as I started watching Doctor Who with the 11th Doctor, and have since gone back and watched most of the series from the beginning. Didn't think I was a bandwagoner, as I had no way of actually watching that until I got BBC America on my cable package, nor do I have any intention of jumping off anytime soon. But I'll take your word for it and find the nearest high-building.
-
Oh man, that's hard... In the end, though...I went with Doctor Who...mainly because there's more to watch and it's been on much longer. Sherlock is my 2nd, and Pride and Prejudice is my 3rd. Downton Abbey doesn't even make my list.

I was under the impression that Benedict Cumberbatch IS a smoker...which is why he is so adamant against kids smoking (as my mother was with us). Also, he has smoked real cigarettes in scenes before, such as the scene at the morgue on Christmas. He stated that he had to smoke about 20 cigarettes for that scene - which started out great, but then he got sick and was so messed up the next day that he couldn't get his lines straight.
-
Moftiss certainly do seem oddly determined to work in those Czechs. And heck, at this point, everything is a clue! Very true
-
That neighborhood is densely populated, so the amazing thing is that there are only 5 wi-fi networks. Dramatic license, I suppose. But even in-universe, it's possible that one or more of the networks belong to honest law-abiding citizens. And that is current Sherlock fandom in a nutshell! Well, normally I would believe you...but the networks around him are in these languages: Russian Spanish Albanian Czech Estonian And what are the killers? Russian - Ludmilla Dyachenko Spanish - Jaume Gauss (Bolivian) Albanian - Suljmani Czech - ? Estonian - ? ( Stephan Tribek is Eastern European, but it's not elaborated on as to whether he's Estonian or Czech) Now, I know that London is a pretty multicultural place...but it seems pretty odd to me that there's an unknown Czech or Estonian living right around him next to a bunch of other international killers. Especially since Moriaty has dealt with so many Czechs in the past. I'm fully prepared for it to be a red herring, but until I know what that repairman is ACTUALLY doing there, or who the suspicious police officer is, I will treat it as a clue.
-
All I know is that there were 5 wireless networks on Baker Street, yet Mycroft only shows John 4 people. I also know that one of the cops knows something and could have possibly helped facilitate the kidnapping. And of course, there's the repairman at their flat. So, somehow they are all connected, but we don't have the entire story to make any sense of it all.

I think I've stumbled upon a new IOU theory!
bborchar replied to SH/LotR/Zelda Fan's topic in Rumours & Speculation
I don't know what IOU means, but personally, I think it was a riddle that Sherlock had to solve regarding the fall (recall code or whatnot). -
Yes, I wondered about that, but I take it to mean that we don't see him jump off "The Roof" but rather we see him take a short hop off a stand-in roof. Which, come to think of it, may be a third roof. It's obvious if you look at screenshots from the show that some of the shots are not of Cumberbatch. I guess I could post a bunch of pics, but... I don't think there's any way to stretch "That's not me..." into meaning something else, either. Especially when it follows logically from "That's me up on the roof." Now, I'm all good with stuntmen doing dangerous falls. But BC does the fall himself, he does the suspended in air himself. Why would they bother with a stuntman? Someone of something fell at speed onto the sidewalk. It wasn't Sherlock. BC didn't do all of the stunts himself...the stuntman tests all of the equipment before BC uses it, and then the stuntman will do the stunts that are too dangerous for BC to do. Some of those stunts (falling several stories face down) are entirely too dangerous for BC to do, so the stuntman did them.

Right, the tainted fog. It will be interesting to see how Sherlock's "maturing" will manifest in Season 3. The very first mature thing that he has to do is to go to John and get him to take him back, as it were. I have a feeling an apology will be in there somewhere. Then, of course, episode 2 *ehem* Major maturity issues there.

Series 3 Episode 3's Title revealed in Series 2!
bborchar replied to bborchar's topic in Rumours & Speculation
The producers definitely love messing with the fans -
yes agree @ Andersons character and obv. he remains in the show so if...w/e not caught. But with each word of the script and camera so scrutinised and pressured , both timewise and for meaning i think there must be something in that moment somewhere. Was it something they cut for the US vesion i wonder ....if so not important. I don't think they would have cut that out in the US version (I don't know, I haven't seen the US version, actually). But the producers themselves decide on what they will cut out of the show, so they wouldn't cut anything important out.

you made me remember Sh talking about bribes and the camera pans to Anderson , and we get a shifty look . On the crime scene later Sh asks for Anderson to work it ? odd and OOC ? Can i say Anderson is rat faced also....or too cruel ? On Bow porcelain idk , i say it as bow rhyming with no. :S I'm really convinced that it wasn't Anderson at all. I think it was the cop in the pink shirt (nameless, but you see him in the episode). Actually, I think Anderson will probably change his attitude next series...he was never a bad guy, just jealous of Sherlock. Now think of how you would feel if someone you had always wanted to see get in trouble because he was better than you kills himself...and it's partly your fault. I don't think anyone would take that lightly. And Moffat said "bow" as in "take a bow"...so it can't rhyme with "no". It's definitely "bao".
