Thanks, it really had me stumped this time! And for some reason I can't see the blurry photo when I go to their website.

Anyone had a bash at the September anagrams yet? I'm totally stumped (again!)

Anyone had a bash at the September anagrams yet? I'm totally stumped (again!)

I had a go at it but didn't have a lot of time to work on it. Will try again later, but srsly, why are they always so late posting it? I feel like the month's almost over!

I never can see the "pixelated" picture, can you? That might help - ?

I looked it up on twitter but it just looks like a picture of Sherlock and John - no real clues tbh (or at least not to my rubbish eyes!)

Yay! Solved it - the easy one, that is. Funny enough, it was my attempt at the hard one that lead me on the right track, quite coincidentally.

If you want clues to the easy one, here goes:

Clue 1:

It is a line

Clue 2:

It's from The Empty Hearse

Clue 3:

John says it

Clue 4 (very spoilery):

Bedroom scene

And if you want the answer, here it comes:

I dont shave for Sherlock Holmes

Thanks for the clues, S&J -- I was able to guess the answer without even seeing the anagram!

And hello, mangopony -- nice to see you again!

So thankful for the clues.  Now trying to figure out the hard one just because and have no idea how the pixelated picture fits with what is given.  But I did come up with a really fun incorrect answer that ties in a US based international news station, S3.1, and the location where Mrs. Hudson's husband was convicted of his crimes.  It reads like a newspaper headline.

You've got me curious -- care to share your funny incorrect answer?

Sure: CNN Covers Empty Florida Hearse

That is indeed funny!  Wonder whether "The Empty Hearse" really is part of the solution?  Nope, can't make "The" out of the letters.

That was my thought when I came up with my answer.  I realized that there was not enough 't's and 'h's to do that. so I'm still lost & trying to figure out the hard one because I like to figure out both puzzles.

When you do come up with it, please post it on this thread (in a spoiler box).   :D   Thanks!

Woohoo! Thanks for the clue for the easy one (feel a bit 'D'uh!' now - it's one of my favourite lines!

And thanks Carol, nice to be back (although finding time to indulge in my obsession on here is pretty difficult these days due to work so I'll probably see y'all again for the next anagram!!)

Well, once a month is better than nothing!  See you next time you get a chance.  :)

Listing some of the words I came up with that so far have not panned out to anything for the Hard puzzle.  It doesn't mean that some of those words aren't in there.  It just means I don't have it right yet.  They will be in a spoiler for those who don't want to see it.  If you figure it out before I do, please post clues.

Covers, Empty, Florida, Hearse, Mycroft, Morstan, Mary, Lestrade, Anderson, Holmes (can't do Sherlock do to lack of a K), Saved, Horn, Pieces, Learn, Donovan, Freeman, Cash, Cry, Repel, Shave, Voice, Ponder

This is for the hard one:

Clue 1:

Don't think too hard on what the picture is, it's an address

Clue 2:

For the numbers, say them as one number not as three different numbers e.g. 123 one hundred and twenty three vs. one two three

Answer:

Two Hundred and Twenty One B Baker Street

I did almost the same thing Heymynameisdurf. I figured out most of the anagrams but googled some of the ones I got stuck on and found this site.  A few weeks later I decided to join.  And  :welcome: to the Forum.
