My son, my sister & I are planning in the midnight showing, then my son & I watch a stage version if Grinch a few hours later. After that we go home and sleep until church I think. (We will have some sleep between the movie & the play but not much)

Our local theater, where we've seen the midnight showings of the first two Hobbit movies, is opting for the new version of "midnight showing" for the third one -- 7:30 on the evening before the nominal release date.  The real thing was fun, and I'm glad to have had the experience, but this time I'm just as glad to avoid messing up my sleep cycle.

Oops!  I heard a faint voice from my earphones, and there's already some action now -- a man whom I do not recognize reading a prepared statement.

Now there's one fellow, apparently a crew member, interviewing someone who seems to be a spokesman -- sort of a dress rehearsal?

They're repeating that interview now (for the second time), and saying they'll be back live at 5:15 pm GMT (note -- 15 minutes earlier than we expected), less than three hours from now.

Just two hours left now till the Hobbit premiere red-carpet live streaming.  The countdown says two hours and fifteen minutes, but according to the test "interview" they ran a little while ago, it may actually start about fifteen minutes early.

Me no comprende. Am I to understand there will be a "broadcast" appearing at that link of the actors arriving to watch the movie they are in, being ambushed  interviewed by reporters along the way? (Hey, the internets are largely still a mystery to moi.)

Yes, I think you're right.  I've never done one of these things myself, since we just recently got DSL to replace our old dial-up connection.

Can I be quietly fangirling about the premiere starting in less than 45 minutes? It's not like I'm actually there or anything.

 

Hoping I can keep my composure when I watch the movie in 2 weeks because I know there will be no more middle earth movies from Peter Jackson.

If they end the movie well (by my definition), I will presumably be in tears.  (If they end it badly, I will presumably be in tears as well, but not the good kind.)
