Hello Moriarty believer. Welcome to the forum.

I say uh uh uh stay deceased, stay deceased, stay deceeeeeeeeee..... :D

I don't mind him staying in Sherlocks head though.

Where one exists, so must the other !

I wouldn't try to change your mind.

In fact, I'll even support that fact.

Evil doesn't die....it just makes other plans !

I want him to stay dead. I would rather see Moriarty's twin brother than him being alive. There have been too many fake deaths for my taste.

If Moriarty isn't given the chance to reappear, like Sherlock did, then that would be termed dealing with a loaded deck, as in, an unfair advantage in favour of Sherlock, the good guy getting the guaranteed luck, albeit by dubious means.

Sherlock wouldn't like that, as it would reflect on himself.

A more evil Moriarty twin I don't think would cut it.

No, no, no, no more fake deaths! They can lug Moriarity's corpse around if they like, but please, no more fake deaths. :D

Moriarty has always been too good a character to have ever been killed off in the first place, as his menace should've remained behind many a crime for all time, being forever Sherlock's opponent !

To be honest, I thought he had reached his time, when he 1st went...but I will be glad if he is back.

In TRF before the opening title, there's John with his psychologist, who is trying to coax him into telling her everything. Thus, the whole episode could've been from John's point of view, which may not have been accurate because he didn't see the Sherlock-confronting-Moriarty rooftop scene. So there might not even have been a faking at all!

Woh. Bendy... I've never looked @ it that way. But yall all know how I feel about Moriarty. Like Andrew Scott. Actually think he's a little cutie pie. I'd like to pinch his cheeks, yes I would...

Ewww. I just got the same shiver I would get thinking about cuddling with a tarantula!

Actually, I agree with Truthhunter; they killed off Moriarty too soon. They introduced him too soon, for that matter. We should have had a season or two of Sherlock dealing with ordinary criminals first, imo. But then, they had no way of knowing their show was going to be a hit!

Yes, that thought has occurred to me as well.  I have some trouble with it, though, since John doesn't seem the type to make up something quite that rococo.  I can easily imagine him trying to make sense of the whole thing, once he had dealt with the worst of his grief, and he would presumably figure that Moriarty was involved, maybe even that Moriarty had been on the roof and somehow forced Sherlock to jump.  But why would he imagine that Moriarty had shot himself?

So I'm back to seeing the rooftop scene as What Really Happened, at least for now.  But do feel free to convince me!

Oh lord, I hope that's not it either. No more fake deaths, no more fake explanations, no more fake emotions, enough with the fakery! It's fun once (at least, I thought so) but enough. I'm too confused already!

I just thought of something. Actually Sherlock gives the same account to Anderson. So nope! Sherlock witnessed Moriarty blow his brains out.

Posted

... or maybe he had heard John's conjecture, and used it just to confuse Anderson.  ;)

Nope -- just kidding!  (I hope!)

Well the writers let us know in that panel interview that I believe you posted, Sherlock's account to Anderson is how it actually happened. Soooooooo

Which interview was that?  Or more to the point, what did he say that leads you to disbelieve him?  (Not saying that I blame you!)

You know it seemed he was at some red carpet event. He was answering questions. It was you, Caya or sfmpco that posted it most likely. I forget which thread it was in, but now I'm like, fine well never know how he fell off that roof & survived.

Actually, don't they also say that on one of the "making of" clips on the S3 DVD? Either there, or that "Unlocking Sherlock" special, perhaps. And in a least a couple interviews. It's been their stock answer all year; Moffat says the last answer is the right one, Gatiss sticks in the "maybe." The big tease.
