Gahhh.. he looks weird on top of his weird look. :P

Wait until you see a close up. Beyond weird.

Ow. I hope they don't look too cartoony. I really want it to be good.

More creepy than cartoony, to my eyes.

He's awesome playing creepy, yes.

But I always notice, when I see interviews with people who play mostly villains - in private they seem like the nicest loveliest people ever! :)

Yesss.. that is what makes them more interesting... or fits into psychopath description. :D

I have never watched Mads's interview, or seen him outside Hannibal, I just saw his picture (with kids, and note: not to eat XD) from the link I posted earlier and he looks charming.

but I had seen Andrew Scott's interview and I like it.

I have watched a couple of convention panel videos with Mads, and he so does not look like Hannibal in real (maybe like some said who met Benedict that they don't see Sherlock in him in real life? Guess that is what makes them those brilliant actors, they can convince us to be the character but when they are not in character they are just themselves and totally different), like he has a beard stubble, jeans and jumper and messy hair, and he appears totally cool and lovable. Also funny. If I remember it right, he once said that he wondered how popular the James Bond films actually are, and when he went to a premiere (he once played the baddie in 'Casino Royale') he was like 'wow, really?' or something like that, haha....because he's so not that 'regular Hollywood guy', which makes him even more lovable. He also does not speak the same accent as Hannibal, as he is danish. He tries to authentically speak a lithuanian accent in the show. I can't say how good or bad it is since I have never heard someone from Lithuania speaking english :D .

Yes, I agree about Andrew Scott - the interviews I have seen with him so far make him seem not much like Moriarty but just some cool, funny and lovable guy.

In one of the commentaries (for Last Vow, I think) Una Stubbs remarked how she had heard if you wanted a really believable baddie/psychopath, cast a really nice guy. Sounds like there might be something to it.

I think it's good point and makes sense.

It also adds much to the creeps because old fashion style taught us that that ugly looking guy with hideous laughter and bad behavior is normally the villain. When good looking, well-mannered, classy and likeable guy turns out to be the ultimate psychopath, it's much more scarier as you can see how much charm and how easily he/she could sway you into false security and trusting them. And of course it's scary when someone has ability to turn their charm on and off, or even still looks charming with bloody knives on their hands. Waks.

I just read that Mads is going to be at the Comic Con in Dortmund in December....:nope_sad: why not Berlin??? I mean, sure we have loads awesome guests already, and I am happy that James Marsters is even playing a concert (!) for us, but why not Mads, too??

And I can't afford to go over to Dortmund in December I suppose...besides the other guest stars there don't interest me much to see them in real as far the list goes yet, so I would attend only for him and that's bit expensive. :( Sad. Would have loved to see him in real, also to be able to say if my impression was right that I mentioned above. :P

Well, he could offer you breakfast in bed as well.

Something tells me you don't like my idea of match-up. :p

There is actually a published cookbook that receives great review.

Well of course, they have to change one or two original ingredients.

Anyway, to defend the series, maybe I had said this before. I don't enjoy Hannibal for the killing, but for the clever in-depth psychological approach to the characters, which is very interesting and intriguing to me. It is also actually has a lot of smart funny moments in ironic ways, and the visual of the series is stunning, work of art.

But yah, can't help that most people would only think of Hannibal as creepy series about a murderer.

Actually, I don't think of it at all, until you bring it up. :P I confess I am a difficult one to please when it comes to TV shows these days. There's not much I make a point of watching; it's more a matter of finding the least objectionable program at any given time.  Even Agents of SHIELD is boring this year.

I know what you mean, and certainly don't think you should watch Hannibal. It's just my pathetic attempt to convince others that it's more than serial killer and sadism, because it is.

Tbh, I almost quitted watching after first and second episode because I found it's eerie, only because I still didn't get where they are going. And I admit it's interesting for me to see how a psychopath works. Muhahahhahaha..

Eh.. not helping my own case... :p

Can I just say it just boggles me how little crossover fanfic/fanart there is of them? I know they live across the other side of the pond but this is great material guys!!! And I'm not even talking about a Hannibal vs Sherlock showdown and more of a intriguing and gentlemanly Dr. Lecter trying to figure out what is Dr. Watson

Oh dear, Hannibal is so going to mess up with John's brain and sanity.
