It's going to be such a MARVELous movie :)  can't wait to see it!

And... Sherlock asking somebody to teach him (!)... it's not ordinary at all  :P

He! I love how Sherlock manages to pop into everything, I was watching August: Osage County last night and kept expecting Charles to make some scathing Sherlockian remark. Or wanting him to maybe, Sherlock would have verbally torn everyone apart in seconds. :D

Am I the only one who thinks that Ben with the beard looks bit like 'Batman begins' :batman::giggle:

I keep thinking he looks like someone, but I can't remember who. Was there someone with a goatee in Batman? Maybe that's it...

Interesting how the motif of the raised hands keeps reappearing in the trailer. Hope it's deliberate, I love that kind of detail.

yup, Christian Bale had this bushy beard and hair in the beginning scenes, where he's training with Obi wan Kenobi, uhm, I mean Liam Neeson. :giggle:

I think he was improsoned somewhere far away from home or something, I don't remember exactly, but I remember that Christian Bale looked like that in the early scenes of 'Batman begins'...

I am fascinated with his voice at the 0.50 mark. Doesn't sound anything like him, I presume it is though

OMG, you're right, I remember now! I had forgotten that part! Very similar.....

Also I thought you were referring to the "cleaned up" Strange, who also makes me think of ... someone.

I don't think so. You can hear what is definitely Ben's voice around 1:10, and it's not the same at all. (Thank heavens. What's the point of casting Benedict Cumberbatch if it doesn't sound like Benedict Cumberbatch? :D) I presume the "I don't believe" voice is a supporting character.

Besides, I've heard Ben's American accent ... he's not quite that American! :d

At risk of being lynched I've never seen House. I'm guessing Dr Strange is just from the same place so the accent is the same.

I don't know though, it sounds like something the character would be expected to say. Though yes, the accent at 1.10 does sound different and is definitely him. Hm

Well, Ben IS a good mimic, and he worked with Hugh Laurie ... and he does like to find a unique voice for each of his characters .... hmmm indeed. I may have to walk back my previous statement, after reading JP's post. Because yes ... that does sound almost exactly like Dr. House.

If that is him ... wow!

What accent is that anyway? New York? Thank God they've given us something new to discuss, lol

That's what I call "generic Hollywood businessman accent." That is, it doesn't sound particularly regional to me, but if I located it anywhere, it would be Los Angeles.

I know for US journalism, they try to have the national TV reporters use a Midwest accent (not the Fargo accent) as it is the easiest to understand.  It's possible that Hollywood tries to do the same thing.
