Hi,

I've just signed up to this because i saw the link on Facebook from a friend of mine. I adore the Sherlock Holmes fandom in just about any form, although the recent BBC one does rank favourite. I am a Brit, although I live 200 miles to the north of Baker Street, it's not that far away. I am a fanfiction writer as well as a published writer of m/m romance, I adore reading, watching and writing detective fiction. So, this is me.

Welcome! the flat is comfy if a little bullet-ridden. and if you ask nicely Mrs. Hudson'll make you a brew!

Thanks for the welcome. However, I'll be careful around Mrs Hudson. She's the landlady, not the housekeeper after all... A bunch of flowers might go down well. But I LOVE the flat, it looks just like my house. Chaotic and too full with stuff! At least mine doesn't have experiments in the kitchen though.

A published author! That's awesome! One of my dream jobs back when I was a youngion, haha. Welcome welcome! (And thank-you for your thoughts on my fanfic earlier!)

Yes, I'm published, for my sins. Two books now. M/m romances, although they are books with adult content. I have another two WIPs but I also have a day job. Not able to do it full time yet. I publish with Dreamspinner press (apologies if I'm not supposed to advertise...) in the US, although I am a Brit living and working here. If anyone wants constructive criticism on their fanfic, I'm happy to help.

That's so neat that you're able to publish in a different country from where you're living! Even if you're being published for your sins. :P I think its cool nonetheless!

Jess, I have a question...

This line from one of your fics on AO3

“Cardiff, we could relax in Cardiff, there’s this nice little B&B I know...”

wouldn't happen to reference Ty Rosa would it?

:boing:

lol, yes it would. Haven't been but I know folks who have. I really want to go there. The lads who run it got hitched last year and they sound really nice guys.

They are lovely (as is Max the dog). I've been a few times with EvigMidnat and we usually stay in Cardiff Castle... the guys have named the rooms after Welsh Castles rather than giving them room numbers. It isn't the cheapest place to stay in Cardiff but it's certainly the friendliest place I've ever stayed and possibly the most fannish.

EvigMidnat is Canol - I'm the rodenty one from Liverpool. :)

Oh wow you guys knew each other? What a small world...

always look for some reference to darkness in my names,

Evig Midnat is Swedish for Forever Midnight... i originally read it as being Danish, but it helps to have a Swedish friend willing to put up with you bugging her for odd translations :D

Guess I worked out that Midnat was midnight. Bit of a reach but not too difficult. Scandinavian friends are always useful...

i think i got the t rule wrong double t would have made it danish i think.

my ao3 is the same or it will be when it starts getting used
