  2. Boy do they ever. The newspapers are full of stories of people who had an enemy so dangerous they do wind up dead. So yeah, John's statement is a bit of fiction. That's unfortunately all too true in the literal sense. But maybe what Jess meant was that John doesn't think of anyone as his enemy, even though he may not like them. I think that's consistent with what he told Sherlock. And it doesn't mean that he's horribly altruistic, it just means that's how he naturally views the world. If you're at all familiar with the Myers-Briggs personality paradigm, you may recall that one pair of traits is Perceiving versus Judging. John is apparently a Perceiver.Oh, I love that point. Possibly because I really am a Perciever. We revel in ambiguity. Much to the dismay of the J's. (Say it now, say it loud, I'm a P, and I'm Proud!) P.S. Now I'm sitting here trying to decide if Sherlock's an INTJ or an ISTP. Heaven help me. I say Sherlock is definitely ISTP.
  3. Hay Fox, notice a fictional character that shares your personality traits. "Did you miss me?" Fictional INTJs: Cassius (Julius Caesar) Mr. Darcy (Pride and Prejudice) Gandalf the Grey (J. R. R. Tolkein's Middle Earth books) Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs) Professor Moriarty, Sherlock Holmes' nemesis Horatio Hornblower Ensign Ro (Star Trek--the Next Generation) Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (Hamlet) George Smiley, John le Carre's master spy Clarice Starling (Silence of the Lambs)
  4. I'm an ENFP. I feel exposed, very good insight to my personality. Erie how spot on it is. http://www.humanmetrics.com/personality/enfp
  5. That would be cool to bring it to the theater. You think they'd bring BC's rendition of Hamlet to US theaters?? ^_^
  6. Yeah. I think they are both damsels in distress @ different times, which is why they need each other and @ times Mycroft, and they even needed Lestrade in HOB. Hay!, now that I think of it. Lestrade is the ultimate damsel in distress.
  7. Sorry I completely misunderstood.
  8. On Tumblr I show each step from my original drawing to the final. This is the story of the illustration: Wanderlust art contest Art Title: 'A Fine Wine' Materials: Ink & Gouache on illustration paper. Dimensions: 14 x 17 I love ink, give me a ball point pin & watch me go! My favorite things to ink are trees & rocks, because they have no real rules. A tree's branches can go in whatever direction you chose & there's a lot of freedom in rendering the bark & roots of a tree as well. Rocks have no definite shape. They are sqround ( my word for square & round), with lots of angles and curves. I'm not afraid to add shadows to rocks, gives them personality & depth. The reason I chose to call this piece 'A Fine Wine', is because its a collective of my favorite things. A tree, rocks that I chose to layer into a sort of mountain, a tangy beverage fall & the sun rolled up into a bottle of wine. Anywhere you'd travel to in the world could inspire these things. I truly hope you enjoy this graphic novel inspired piece I put together. Please check me out on Tumblr under Jesskayding & JessicahExhibits. http://jesskayding.tumblr.com/post/96055798723/this-is-a-rough-for-an-art-project-im-working-on Also in the above Tumblr post I mentioned a lot of colors that didn't make it to the final piece. After a few thumbnails it seemed to work best with less. Please find attached ' A Fine Wine'
  9. I can understand that. From a certain perspective, I'd say the best/most intricate/exquisite episodes are (in order of appearance) A Study in Pink, The Great Game, A Scandal in Belgravia, The Reichenbach Fall, and His Last Vow. My brain tells me that those are the best ones. I am, however, in love with The Empty Hearse and The Sign of Three. Can't help it. Neither can I help that His Last Vow just doesn't sit entirely right with me, however stunning it is. 'Reichenbach' and 'Pink' are actually the only ones that highly appeal to me on both an emotional and an intellectual level. 'Game' is also close, but I suppose I'm more of an emotionally driven person, and 'Hearse' and 'Sign' have a strong emotional pull on me. Convict I agree 90 min Pink superior to 60 min Pink. The Wardrobe & location changes brilliant. Making the tone a bit darker brilliant. The script changes... "That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever done...... Laughter, need I say more, brilliant. Awesome! SJ I like your ranking of things... I would just replace TRF w/ HLV. Also your emotional ones are the same for me, per tugs @ heart strings thru out. Although SIB had the xoxo Molly & Sherlocked scenes... Woooooo! Woooooooooooo!!!
  10. I'm 1/2 way there with you Fox. Benedict plays a meeeeeean Sherlock. I've seen several versions. In my opinion he's the best Sherlock ever. It will take a lot to match his interpretation of our favorite sleuth. I said sleuth. Ha It seems everyone has taken a fancy to that term over detective.
  11. Also a good point. Maybe that's the debate -- which means more to you, mercy, or justice? Justice is more fair, but mercy is more compassionate. But compassion sometimes comes at the expense of justice. The CAM thing has nothing to do with mercy or forgiveness. In this situation, it was like... Have you ever seen 'The Good Son' with Elijah Wood and Mccoully Culken? The mom had to choose good over evil. It was her nephew or her murdering son. Thank goodness she made the right choice. It was either Magnussen or Mary, John, unborn baby, London, Mycroft, ect... Thank goodness Sherlock made the right decision.
  12. Yeah, I agree with Fox. Completion means the end of our Benedict Sherlock. http://youtu.be/-7jS7X-2ggA
  13. Also outside of all of this, in my real life I have really deep conviction about forgiveness. There was a man who broke my heart in a really, horrible cruel way. Took me months..., but we traveled in the circle of friends... The tension could be cut with a knife. We had to talk. I could have relived everything & pointed out every detail of his misdeeds against me. I kept it short & sweet & even apologized for having a grudge. His response was of someone who had been forgiven & was grateful for it. It was also amazing for me, I could breathe again... I had my final cry over him the day before. It was so refreshing. There's way more power & self love in forgiveness than revenge.
  14. I think that the story is far more simple & way less complicated than we all make it. I don't know that those of us who approve of the way CAM was disposed of or the forgiveness of Mary by Sherlock and John are less moral than anyone else. I think that all of us have expressed that we are not cool with killing real life people in real life. Those of us who have accepted these things, accept that this is fictional entertainment. The ability to separate the two keeps any of us from becoming Sherlock, Moriarty , Mary, John, Magnussen or even a Mrs. Hudson. If we did in real life, we'd all be in a loony bin somewhere. So taking John @ face value, as a fictional character... It's not far fetched that a man who didn't flich when being confronted by Moriarty on the first time of meeting, tries to date Mycroft's assistant, became instant best friends with a man that @ times was assumed to be the murderer (SIP), stopped @ his flat to pick up a gun for protection, prioritizes his friendship with Sherlock over other women, allows Sherlock to call him stupid time & time again, tolerates Irene Adler after breaking his best friends heart, actually pleased to see her in Sherlock's bed, remains friends with Sherlock upon him sharing that he experiments on him by putting compounds & chemicals in his food... Would forgive Mary for such a horrendous act. He told us right away who he was. Dr John Watson: People don't have archenemies. Sherlock Holmes: I'm sorry? Dr John Watson: In real life. There are no archenemies in real life. Doesn't happen. Sherlock Holmes: Doesn't it? Sounds a bit dull. Dr John Watson: So who did I meet? Sherlock Holmes: What do REAL people have, then, in their... REAL lives? Dr John Watson: Friends... and people they know, people they... like, people they don't like, girlfriends, boyfriends... Sherlock Holmes: Well, as I was saying, dull. To John, real people don't have enemies. ( very fictional concept, of course real people have enemies) So upon all these events and many others, it is not far fetched to see John forgiving Mary for what she did. What happend fits the character of this fictional person in this fictional show.
