  1. There is a way -- I think you put the minus sign and after that whatever pairing/tag you want to avoid in the "additional tags" bar in the filter box. At least, that's how it is on AO3.
  2. Um... because there's very little fan fiction without it? Seriously, I wonder if anybody has ever bothered to find out and write up the numbers: How much percent of Sherlock fan fiction features Sherlock paired off with somebody, and how much of that has him in a romantic / sexual relationship with John? My guess would be pretty high numbers on both counts. The sad part is is how a lot of the other Sherlock ships are mixed with it. For example, if you search 'Sherlock Holmes/Jim Moriarty' on AO3, there's about 1000 works, but once you filter out the Johnlock and the non-con (it bothers me that non-con fics exist) there's only about 400-some.
  3. Hello, Enola! Welcome to the forum!
  4. Just saw a bit of CBS' Sunday Morning, and whaddya know? Mr. Cumberbatch was on there talking about The Imitation Game (of which my stepmom swore was actually called Enigma), and then there was a part with some historians talking about Alan Turing after WWII. Transcript-y thing for that part of the show's here.
  5. Okay, now here's my (brief) rant of the day.
  6. It's worse when you go to the dentist to get a new wire in your braces, and you get a real looker of a dentist, but then the next time you go there he's gone!

  8. For me, I got 12/15, but that was because I was clicking too fast on one picture and missed the answer by five pixels.

  10. Reboot. They're in Season 6 through 8, although they only pop up intermittently in S6
  11. There's also the curious case of Madame Vastra and Jenny Flint, who live in the Victorian-era London and solve crimes. Madame Vastra's all eccentric and weird (well, weird to us 'cause she's a Silurian -- half lizard, half human) while Jenny is the poor 'normal' one who has to put up with her. Sound a bit familiar? There's even a reference in another episode (forgot which) where someone says Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is using the two as inspiration for his works.
  12. Fuzzy images typically indicate a blocked-out memory. Blocked-out memories indicate psychologically traumatic events forcefully forgotten to remain mentally stable enough to function properly. Thus, the sibling may be the centre of whatever traumatic event that may have occured.
  13. Well, Anderson filmed Sherlock 'confessing", but when Sherlock was all done, Anderson said something along the lines of "How did you know that John would stay put?" So, yeah -- how would Sherlock ensure John would stay at that very spot without it seeming too conspicuous?
  14. Maybe he just brings in one of his homeless network? It's hinted that the network's huge, so maybe somebody's got a hidden talent for this tailoring stuff.
  15. Yeah! Somebody thinks that Tom's Moran's son, and that Tom was the guy Moriarty used to scare the little girl in TRF -- and don't say "But Moriarty killed him!" because Sherlock's "confession" to Anderson was disproved!
  16. Off topic, but there's actually a teenager out there who looks quite like Benedict Cumberbatch, believe it or not.
  17. It took me an embarrassingly long time to even get the joke, so little do I think Tom looks like Sherlock. Heck, I can put any man in a beautiful coat and tie a scarf around his neck, but it won't make him look like Sherlock. I do sort of pity the casting job on this one, and its a tribute to the fantastic amount of job security BC's unique look gives him. There's just no one who looks like him, so casting "tall, thin, with curly hair" doesn't really do it. Me, I find Tom creepy. I actually found him really creepy since his first appearance, probably either because he was dressed like Sherlock but wasn't Sherlock, or because of this:

  19. Could you say a quote in German? Or would some things get lost in translation? Anyway... Is there an R?
