On my first viewing of the airfield scene, I also thought, "what? That's it? He's leaving forever, and that's all there is?" But on reflection, hey, they're dudes. They've each already said exactly how they felt about each other. That hasn't changed. They've even hugged. They don't need a repeat performance.

Oh what great sense that all makes! Maybe another example is the omnipresence of Mycroft Holmes as "The British Government"? Could one man get away with something like that in a government such as England's in all reality? I think I have another example. In their world, there's no such thing as a dropped call, you can always get a signal or an internet connection. I think I heard them say that on a commentary once.

I totally loved that part of the pilot episode, the "invisible car." Why, oh, why, wouldn't they leave that in? It was brilliant! It makes no sense that Sherlock wouldn't have been able to deduce that it was the London cab that could go everywhere and yet be invisible, as he did in the pilot. GRRRRR!
