    Curiously, I got a couple of email notifications this morning!

    I just looked in my email trash folder, and the last was December 8th. And the notifications I'm talking about are for when a thread I'm subscribed to is updated. I get one for every post.

    This may not be the place for this, but I haven't been getting email notifications for over a week. Since I've been reading about the snow and themes, my suspicion is one thing may have something to do with the other. Carol, thoughts? (Since I won't know when you'll reply, I'll just have to check back.) Thanks!

    I identified with that as well. I've left events early, like church picnics, in the very same way, because I just didn't belong. I never felt it was a big deal.

    Fantastic! Amazing! What a treat this is going to be. I've been a Sherlockian since age 18, so I concur - knowing the ACD canon will really be a plus in appreciating this. Oh, what fun this is going to be!

    About the Hounds - plural - I believe it refers to the team of scientists rather than to the dog, as in the novel.

    Have you seen The Scarlet Claw yet? I think that's one of the best.

    I suppose they wanted a shade of 'scarlet' and the sound of 'pink' as well as the color itself tickled their fancy more than, say, 'crimson.' How's that? Sound like our boys?

    My favorite thing about the pilot versus the aired version was Sherlock's catching onto the London cabbie aspect and his speech about it in the restaurant - perfect.

    When Mary was saying goodbye to John in the office (in addition to what you said above), didn't she also say ... "I'm late for Cath" ? (Okay, the subtitle said "Cath", it might have been something else, but I remember hearing "I'm late for something.")
