I've heard late this month, but I think she could deliver at any time, quite frankly. I don't expect to actually hear about it immediately. They may delay the release of the news. Thanks.

I rewatched Amazing Grace last night. I hadn't seen it in eight or nine years when my church was promoting it, and of course then I had no idea who Benedict Cumberbatch as. He had a great part and did a really wonderful job with it. By the way, does anyone know when Sophie is due?

Is that the one with the Tobel bombsight? Don't you just love the spray dust? Yeah, I consider that one of the better ones.

Stephen Moffat used the term "exotic" to describe his looks. Actually, he was describing both Sherlock and Irene as "exotic creatures."

I also see only the square. -
Have you seen The Unaired Pilot (the 60-minute version of the same story)? In that version, Sherlock's "Who hunts in a crowd?" soliloquy ends with the deduction that the killer is a cabbie. A good bit of the 30 minutes they added was devoted to Sherlock's failure to answer his own question. I'm torn between wondering whether this was a deliberate homage to "the butler did it" or simply one more example of authors relying on that sort of cliche. That lovely bit is why I sort of prefer the UAP to the actual episode. At least that part of the plot. It's really a great bit of dialogue.

I would think so, but that's what we thought about Many Happy Returns, too. :( -

My thoughts exactly! :D (Last pageful or so -- excepting the post just before this -- moved here from another thread.) What and where? -

I must admit I really don't understand why he's wearing the Inverness cape and deerstalker. Sherlock didn't wear those in town, only in the country. I was so looking forward to seeing him in a long coat and top hat like the first picture we saw. The way they dressed Jeremy Brett! Really, really happy to see Archie! -

Are we really sure that's Una Stubbs? I'm not sure it looks like her. -
B.C. looks a lot like Jeremy Brett there.

Page 227 shows what's scripted when Sherlock crashes through the window and kisses Molly in the first fake explanation of the Fall in TEH. It doesn't say anything about a hair-muss. So either Benedict improvised or the director asked for it. Cool, huh?

Yes, this really is a priceless one, isn't it?

The STAR TREK Connection

If it is, I don't get it. -
In the commentary for Scandal in Belgravia, Steven Moffat calls Benedict's looks "exotic." And he believes the reason BC's chemistry worked so well with Lara Pulver's was that they're both "exotic creatures." I think that word describes him very well - exotic.

The photo on the left above looks like it might have come from "To The Ends of the Earth," a mini-series he made in 2006 with Jared Harris and Sam Neill. I highly, highly recommend it. I loved it so much I bought it. The only thing wrong with it is that for some reason it's filmed in a 4:3 ratio!
