Please excuse me if there's already a thread for this, but I couldn't find any so I started this one, because I just stumbled over this:

and it was too hilarious not to share (source).

Do you know any other funny pics etc. (other than the ubiquitous otters)?

Thanks for sharing, Martina!

Although I knew that there's a "Funny Sherlock Pictures" thread, it still took me a while to find it (in the Fan Art forum), so I'm not surprised that you missed it.  And even though your find would certainly fit there, I can easily imagine other Sherlock humor that would not ("Sherlock, John, and Mrs. Hudson walk into a pub, and....").  So there's good reason to have both threads.

By the way, the otters are already on that other thread.

I knew it, I just knew that there would be a thread somewhere - thanks, Carol  (in my defense, forum search failed me, too).

Ah well, off to see the funny, thanks for the link! And yes, those otters seem to be everywhere ;).

Ha! Found a funny Sherlock non-picture (a video) that would therefore not (literally) fit into the other ("Funny Sherlock Pictures") thread and thus vindicates me starting this one :D.

I'm not a Johnlock shipper but that was really funny, and well made, imho.

Incidentally, if you didn't know what that was video above was about, you should definitely watch Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog:

It's got Neil Patrick Harris at his most adorkable and vulnerable, and also Nathan Fillion gleefully hamming it up -

Not exactly Sherlock Humour, but well, Khan is in there, and Moriarty might as well be:

eta: okay, that came out way too small, let's try this:

And continuing my attempt to derail this "Hey it's not Sherlock, but at least it's got Benedict Cumberbatch in it" humour thread:

I apologize if this is an ignorant question, but I am rather new to the Sherlock BBC fandom and Sherlock Holmes at large.

I have heard of mouse incarnations of Sherlock being called "Basil."

Is this due to the fact that the actor Basil Rathbone played Sherlock in some of the earlier on-screen versions?

It was one of my friends on livejournal who started off the whole 'Otter' thing in Sherlock fandom...

I think it is because of the character Basil of Baker Street from the Disney movie "The Great Mouse Detective" which is based on the Sherlock Holmes stories.

That's awesome! (Would you mind revealing his/her screenname? If you'd prefer not to, that's fine as well.)

That is presumably true, but since The Great Mouse Detective came out in 1986, I think it's a safe bet that Disney's Basil was named after Mr. Rathbone, who had portrayed Holmes in the 40's and 50's, and was perhaps still generally thought of as the "real" Sherlock Holmes (since Jeremy Brett's portrayal had begun only two years earlier).
