  1. Goodbye to my old bumblebee Lily.... I had to let her go monday night in the pet emergency, because the cyst in her belly was so badly swollen that it pushed her uterus outside ...the doc could have castrated and saved her if she hadn't been cardiac and pretty old so she would not have survived the narcosis anyway. She became ca. 6 years old. Now she is with her old friend Lola again, who died not too long ago. :angel2:
  2. Yup, the Scorpion people SOMETIMES have a gun (usually the agent played by Robert Patrick has one for professional resons), but usually their problem - solving is hacking stuff and lots of Mission Impossible / MacGyver - moments. That is my view on the show, maybe other people see it different. At first I wasn't so intrigued by the characters either, I just knew Robert Patrick is in the show, who I think is always cool in his characters, but after watching a few episodes I liked it more and more, so I would say, give it another shot. Especially season 2 is fun and very adventurous. Sometimes a bit exaggerated, but well, Mission Impossible is too, isn't it? ;)
  3. https://221cblog.wordpress.com/2016/06/22/completely-nuts-and-loving-it/ Looks cool, I just would have added a picture of a nut in the background. (if I would have enough knowledge how to create one that is...)
  4. If I would point a carrot at my rabbits...well, they would not be sitting and waiting.
  5. @ VBS: The book is yet only available in german I think - it's about a cat from Regensburg (his name is Pep)...maybe they do a translation, don't know, it's a pretty new published book. So no danger to you, except you can read german... ;) I only read Bambi once a while ago when I was repairing childrens books in a social project. It was really sad, I swore I would never watch the film...too sad. Just like 'Watership down', which is a film I saw in my childhood, or when I saw 'Marley' I never started the book because know how it ends. Recently I started reading (or listening as I found audiobooks too) 'Warriors' (german title 'Warrior cats'), also as manga which is very cute. The storys are great, but also sometimes sad, and I cry a lot while reading or listening. But despite that I want to know them all because they are very cool adventures of the cats. I get them mostly from used book stores, so I switch between the english and german version, depends on how they are available that time.
  6. Lovely! Glad at the moment it's a bit slow, so I can follow easier. ;) - currently no computer at home, so I have not to reads bulks later with my little time on the line....in moments like this I miss my old laptop (RIP), but generally, life offline is less stressful, as there's now more time for other stuff that usually piles up because I am busy on my computer looking at wonderful creative stuff such as this here. :D
  7. Yes, football. WE WON! WE f***ING WON!!! HOLY SHIT!!! Excellent! I have no current overview over the goal statuses, as I have neither tv nor home internet, but I heard Germany also won the last game. Keep on winning and maybe soon there's a match Germany vs Belgium... @Arcadia: Still the euro-championships goin on here. I know you americans say soccer, but we say football. ;)
  8. Maybe they should watch more MacGyver for inspiration. :D Actually there is yet only one series where I think the writers defintely had, which is 'Scorpion'. Especially in season 2 now it's so obvious that besides the characters are cyber-geniusses and all that, they must have watched a hell lot of MacGyver...
  9. Just re-watched 'into Darkness' yesterday. So looking forward to the new one. Though I think there should be way more women aboard in the films. Like Captain Janeway or so. Love Voyager.
  10. Yup, one reason I am also not sure about having a dog - here's loads places where idiots put poisoned or spiked dog treats (and there's rat poison around the house because we do have rats - I recently met a very big one in the cellars. And even I who love rodents, was a little shocked because it screamed at me....that was scary, I never had a rat being so 'rude' to me...but I was able to tell it that I would not hurt it and that it should go back to their nest, which it did, so it must have understood me ;D), so the dog must be 100% trained to eat only from my hand and nothing from the floor. Also there's other evil people, so you can not let them wait before a shop, not even shortly. I often see flyers with missing dogs where they say the dog was stolen somewhere near a shop/mall. So many limitations for dogs in the city, even my vet says he is for everybody having their dog on the leash (he himself owns a dog) because his dog sometimes gets attacked by other dogs whose owners are too stupid to train them properly. I just read a cute book about a cat who went to university. It was his area, and he told us about loads of adventures (he was not a stray, he grew up on a farm and then went to a caring home, but he was a freedom-loving one) and the things he learned about humans. At the end I had to cry because the person who wrote the book obviously wrote it because the cat was missing in the end. She made the end very positive about it, like he was going with someone he met in the university-clinic who was depressive, and who needed him more, and that he's going to study the people more being with her, and that he would help her feel better. But the true story is they lost his trail at the clinic - so I only hope that someday the cat comes back, so it can tell us more about his adventures. Because the book was so cute and well-written.
  11. yup. isn't he cute? :D http://www.emp.de/art_331559/ And a shirt. Though the guy on the picture does rather look like that one actor from the seventies action films, the one with the tan and the moustache...what's his name, Burt Reynolds? http://www.emp.de/art_328270/
  12. One thing to be careful of with kittens is electrical cords, especially when they're teething -- and some cats never seem to outgrow that phase. We nearly lost Persea at ten months that way. That is something I guess all 'non-cage-pets' seem to have in common...put away the electric stuff, because they love to chew it or play with it. Gandalf killed once two internet-wires - but when Helga was new, she almost ripped out a whole power socket depite the child-proof lock! It's a miracle she survived that....now all the power sockets are behind bars, all the wires are hidden in tunnels and 'caged' too, also the corners of the walls have those kitty-scratchwoods so they won't eat the masonry.... When I thought about getting a cat I thought about the same things like if it would be lonely at home while I am working, and if my flat would be big enough. I guess I would have ended up with a very old cat who is just happy about a warm place and a person who feeds and pets it from time to time. And it would be too small for two cats. My neighbours in the house across the backyard have two cute cats, they have a bigger flat and a balcony. The cats are often sitting on the balcony and watch the birds in the backyard. They are obviously indoor cats - I would be sick with worry around here if I had outdoor cats because of the highly busy traffic outside. Just since last week there's another cat missing who possibly had been an outdoor cat...so I think cats are way better for people who have at least a house and a garden or a huge living space. Just like with the dogs. Except you're like my one neighbour, who is constantly outside with his dog. I don't know what his profession is though, so I think cats and dogs are a tough decision for people who have a work that forces them to leave the pets at home.
  13. Sailor Moon
  14. Depends on the bunny. I've seen it both ways with the rabbits friends of mine used to raise. True. Mine love it. Especially Helga. Gandalf is a bit shy and sometimes he's not in the mood, but generally he likes it. Helga is a real 'cuddle-bunny' (also a lot with Gandalf, they are so cute together ), but she only cuddles with people who she knows well and trusts (like me :D ).
  15. I have to correct myself: we didn't lose, but nobody achieved a goal in that match.
  16. OMG, the Johnlock-dollies are so cuuuuute! I want one! (I have only seen some Sons of Anarchy dolls somewhere before...-> ) By the way, my Sherlock-Funko won't be alone any longer, just ordered John.
  17. Mr. Myagi
  18. Hey y'all - my computer crashed completely on tuesday, so now I have to use more old but cute pictures from my photobucket, since I am currently in a café... As I am also not having regular tv anymore, I just read on the news headline that Germany lost to Poland last night (football...). (Actually it's not too bad being without tv and computer - I finally started reading books again at home :D , I am already half through a very cute cat book, where a cat goes to university and studies humans )
  19. Ahahaha.....I didn't know he was in it. In the scene he looks like one of my former buddies from the goth-community (he only had blonde hair and was way shorter than Benedict)...
  20. ...which makes me wonder: How many Avengers films will there still come?? :D I mean I know there will be a third one...but hey, not complaining here. I love the Avengers films, all of them.
  21. Maybe Carabas is watching football. Euro-Championship is on in France since friday. :D
  22. Agree with CAMPer & Arcadia. :D
  23. Supercute! I want a beach with happy stray dogs, too...
  24. Thanks for posting the personal reports/pictures/ video. Seems like it's a very good vibe going on there during the current filming, which is heartwarming. And it makes me look forward to the new episodes. Especially as Benedict is now 'quite famous' and seems just so lovely and takes so much time to sign stuff for everybody, I think this makes a lot of people happy. He handles all so well, which I think can be a lot to manage sometimes. (I know I myself would go nuts,haha...) The video reminds me a bit of last tuesday when there was the euro premiere of 'Orange is the new black' - and I was curious - it was here just a couple of tram stations away, so I checked the location, and I didn't expect anything, because the last time I was at such an event it was the last 'Lord of the Rings' premiere in Berlin...but then there were Kate Mulgrew and Lea DeLaria coming over signing autographs and later Selenis Levya and Uzo Aduba. Unfortunately they did mostly just sign the stuff in the front (and as I am tall I have the habit to let the smaller people in the front so they can see better...), so I didn't get any autographs on my DVD cover I had packed (just in case :P ), but a few pictures. which was cool, especially since I looove Kate Mulgrew already from Star Trek, and she is just amazing as Red in OITNB - she seemed to be so natural and friendly, like Benedict in the video too. ;) And Selenis was totally cute, like she was happy to meet fans and all, maybe it's the 'latina spirit', but I liked her in an instant as she was beaming like the fans herself. :D There were Dascha Polanco and Yael Stone too, but they just let themselves get driven to the entrance and just shortly waving, whatever...I caught a shirt later (the promoters came out a couple of minutes later and threw orange football shirts to the fans with autographs on them) with Daschas autograph on it. Which is nice, but I think it would have been cooler from her if she had given them out personally and give people the chance to say Hi and thank you or something, you know what I mean? Made me think a bit how different people deal with all that... Anyway, it's great that the Sherlock Crew lets people be part of it and that everybody is so welcoming obviously, and thank you for reporting for us, Alex! (I know I would be too tired to report so soon after standing somewhere for hours and all that...that's one of the reasons why I gave up reporting for music fanzines many years ago... :P ) So big thumbs up for you and your brother too!
