I guess it's like with the germans or other languages - there are different dialects and accents, mostly depending on the area they come from. Also depends on your own understanding. For example - It's easier for me to understand people from Scotland or nothern area of England than a Bavarian... But ask a Bavarian - they have a hard time understanding Berliners as well (I am actually one of the few 'native Berliners' left, they are hard to find here these days, haha...). :D I just didn't get it with the Dracula - is it a CD, and like an audiobook or an audioplay (is Hörspiel audioplay in english or is there a different word for it...?), or what is it? Not a film on CD, right?

That was my problem too when I used to live at my parents' house...they would not let me have a cat or dog, because they would be walking around the house (they would not want any pets for themselves), but at least they let me have other pets (which stayed in my room - well, they didn't see it coming when the hamster and the mice broke out of their cages...), this is actually why I ended up with rabbits now instead of a cat or dog in my own house, haha...And I don't regret it. The rabbits are a lot like cats actually. Vegetarian cats. :D A while before I had them, I thought about a cat, but I had still other pets like the rats and the gerbils, so a cat would have been not a very good idea, and now it's the rabbits. My dad has two (very furry) cats, he's always been the one who liked pets, but my mum and my stepdad would not. -
That sounds like they film with Peter Jackson...? One thing actors always say about him, even when the take was good he wants still some more, just to be sure. Some who were not used to it (like Christopher Lee, who said it in the interviews on the Special Edition once that it was strange to him to do so many takes of one scene),were a bit pissed about it, haha.... Think I also read something about that in Sean Astin's book...

They can have all kinds of patterns actually, depends on the breeding....but to be honest, before I made the picture, i didn't see how accurate 'striped' the colours are on him. He always just looks bright/dark brown and fuzzy to me. :D About the stripes - my old Lily has the same colours with flat hair and also stripes, I often call her 'bumblebee'. I'll look if I have a good picture of her where you can see it.

That's very nice from you that you give her a home now. Is it your first cat/pet? -
Alice Through The Looking Glass
Bluebell replied to SherlockedCAMPer's topic in Movies & Entertainment
I already wrote about it in the recently watched movies and favourite male actor - threads, I looove it, and yes it was done by Tim Burton again and loads the same people in it and around it....now I see that it's also available in 3D - the preview was only in 2D. Thinking about going again now in 3D because it simply was awesome and should be cool in 3D...- 6 replies

Supercute! How old is she? Where did you get her from? -
Yesterday I saw 'Alice through the looking glass'...awesome!!! Actors, Story, the whole film artwork....love it! I mentioned in the favourite male actors thread already that some familiar faces are in it, but - watching a Tim Burton film means you see a LOT of familiar faces, as he likes to work with many actors that have been in previous films he made. Just Andrew Scott and Richard Armitage have been a new addition, from the actors we know and love here...hopefully they will be cast for more Burton films soon :D .... The end of the film was quite teary, and I thought already in the beginning when Absolem flew into the picture 'oh man, now always when I see a blue butterfly, I might be thinking of Alan Rickman'...so it was no wonder to read the dedication to Alan Rickman in the end, and the tears would not cease until the whole end credits were done. Alice through the looking glass gets a 10/10 from me - but that's no wonder, I love just everything that is a Tim Burton film since 'Beetlejuice' came out, and it has many many favourite actors and actresses (LOVE Mia Wasikowska and Helena Bonham-Carter!!) in it....

Confirming now Andrew Scott officially as a favourite male actor (as if he hadn't been before, but I have seen not much more of him before than Moriarty...and now he already was in two recent films I have seen, haha....) : He looks way madder than the Hatter as a doctor in 'Alice...' If he would have had more screen time I would have had to ponder if I should laugh or be scared....so the time was just too short, and I thought 'hey look, it's Andrew Scott, and today he's a crazy doctor', just like the short scene where I first recognized a voice, and when they finally zoomed in on the bearded and crowned face, I realized that Richard Armitage was also in the film, as a king...(again. ) ) the costume and make up people surely had done a good job with the wild hair and all, but it's so him that crazy smile, and I have to say it wasn't really Moriarty, haha...more...happy, I think. (probably was in training before with Chessur.... )

I have heard about Sylvester McCoy being also a doctor, yes - it would be interesting to see him in a different role, yet I only know him as Radagast in the Hobbit.... Thanks for all your advices, so I know now at least a little what to watch out for when I come aross some Who - DVDs on sale ;) ... Was just popping in today, I'm now off to see the preview of 'Alice through the looking glass', looking forward to it since weeks! Telling you tomorrow then in the 'recently watched movies' thread about it.... ;)

So, as Detective has answered already who John Barrowman is - yes, he is in Torchwood (he's so funny, you just have to love him! ), and I have seen the series (I even own the DVD Box! :D ), but I have missed out all the Dr.Who (!) because I don't know when it was on telly ever - and the DVDs mostly cost a fortune, so I hope someday I will be finally able to at least watch one season of Dr.Who as it seems I missed out on something...I just would not know which one to start with - is there one Doctor that I should definitely not miss?? And where I can follow it without knowing all about Dr.Who first? Like a 'Dr.Who for Dummies?' :P Oh yes, you reminded me - I loooove Tom Hanks movies, since like - ever! Think the first ones I saw were 'Big' and 'Turner & Hooch' (love the dog!!) and since then mostly all of them. Just because he's a fun actor to watch, and also great in serious characters such as 'Cast away' or 'Da Vinci Code'. With George Clooney it's rather - I don't fancy him at all, but I like it when he plays the baddie, such as 'From Dusk till dawn'...then he's cool.

Supercute, I love Rottweilers!

:blanket: No offense Amber. That picture is scarier than Martin Freeman's halloween's picture and I'd (almost) rather look at All. Shudder. I agree, haha....that picture is to me not attractive either, I don't know the actor - but I think from that picture I would not even find him attractive if I was a gay man! (because it looks very 'boy-groupish' to me...also, I have sometimes the thought like 'if I was a gay man, I would find this man attractive...')...not scary though, rather, like 'uh...not my type, and maybe too young as well, ahem....' May I say, coming back to the topic of favourite male actors - one of my alltime favourite actors since the late 80s has recently passed away. The wonderful Alan Rickman. Who even shared my birthdate (in month and day, not year...). I think it is a great loss. Also Christopher Lee who left last year, always been impressive... One who is still among the living, Christopher Walken - also a legend in my opinion. And as Star Trek was mentioned - Karl Urban and Simon Pegg are awesome. Both have been great in other roles, and will be in the future, I suppose. :)Ian McKellen - also legendary, always worth watching a film. Whether he's Gandalf, Magneto, Mr. Holmes or whomever, just brilliant! I think I could continue the list on and on, as I don't really have 'that one favourite actor', male or female. They are examples for who I like most (just like Benedict and Martin of course, which I think I don't need to mention in this forum ;D...) - and there are a lot that became like my favourites because I have seen many films with them and the films themselves were mostly brilliant, not necessarily because I found the actor(s) attractive. Still I can go 'fangirling' all over them ....and there are a lot who are from the majority called 'attractive males', which I would not respond to as men, but I like their acting and the roles they play. Johnny Depp, for example. Love his films and the roles (basically because I am a huge fan of Tim Burton's films...), but no 'fangirling', nope, sorry.... By the way, I think this is now the time to post this video, I saw it recently and thought: 'where do I post it on the Sherlock forum, this is such a funny video, but does not fit in any thread' - John Barrowman totally cute 'fangirling' over Benedict.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EyoovbXuu4

Star Trek Beyond ... and beyond

Stop posting scary pictures of Martin, please. It's not Halloween yet. :P

Good idea, but I don't think they do that (maybe in the post office, but I don't know), because there are other people living in their apartment for a year now, and I don't know them...only their names (which are on their letter box now, it's a spanish couple, that's what my aussie neigbors have told me before leaving. I haven't met them yet and they have not been introduced to me. We're a house of many people, hardly people know each other. I just happened to know the lovely aussies for they have two kids and they asked me if they could see the rabbits, that's how we got to know each other actually...). Would be cooler if I knew who the spanish people were, then I could tell them, but if I do not know people it would be pretty weird (to me) to ring their door for that sort of question to forward a letter....it's not like it's an emergency or something. ;P I told them to send me a postcard from down under, but they just left a lovely card in my mailbox when departing. So I'll have to ask them when they are back next year, if they noticed something in their neighborhood in autumn.

My australian neighbors recently headed home for a year, they are actually from Adelaide...if I had a number or email I could tell them to make photos or something if they are close to the set. :P But I can ask them next year if they came across Martin Freeman. :D

I have seen all episodes of Being Human (UK version), and I thought 'Hey that guy was in Sherlock!' :D He's cool as a werewolf, btw.

....or Braveheart! There he even wears a skirt! :D (sorry, I mean a kilt...) Love most of Mel Gibsons films from the 80s (plus Braveheart, which was more the 90s already...). WIth the Mad Max, I have seen all, but I only remember properly the third one where Tina Turner is in it. Have not seen the new Mad Max though. Today I have seen on DVD 'Elizabethtown' again. One of my favourites - I so love the road trip in the end! I would give it a 9 of 10. Beautiful story, good actors, only a bit much kitschy romcom in some parts.

I have a postcard that I bought in Leipzig at the Zoo (I usually don't support public zoos, but Leipzig has an amazing one, the animals have great homes there!), that looks exactly like this cute thingy! It's above my bed with two other cute cards.

I think I have seen the actor recently in 'Pixels'...yep, I just checked the Cover of the DVD, it's him. And I found this cute video, guinea pigs in slow motion. :D The one on the right looks like my Barney.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2wmsVPP8tA

@VBS - Oh my god, er, dog - it's so cute!! Even if it's not my dog it makes my day @ Caya: I don't watch Game of Thrones but it's one of those guys isn't it?

I just read that Mads is going to be at the Comic Con in Dortmund in December.... why not Berlin??? I mean, sure we have loads awesome guests already, and I am happy that James Marsters is even playing a concert (!) for us, but why not Mads, too?? And I can't afford to go over to Dortmund in December I suppose...besides the other guest stars there don't interest me much to see them in real as far the list goes yet, so I would attend only for him and that's bit expensive. :( Sad. Would have loved to see him in real, also to be able to say if my impression was right that I mentioned above. :P
