Interesting pair of examples, since most people would compare Spock to Sherlock and not John. Is John intense? Hmmm, I'll have to think about that one. He's definitely more subtle, though! But then, a neon sign is subtle compared to Sherlock...

Spock isn't flashy or flamboyant, so in that regard he's more like John, and more my kinda character. And I think they (Spock and John) can both be *very* intense, usually without shouting, sometimes without uttering a word.

Let's see. User name is not very original it's just what I use for my name in such international occassions (it's originally İlayda).

The avatar? Moriarty is my favourite character in fact BBC Moriarty is not what Moriarty should be, yet it's fascinating because Andrew Scott is such a great actor.

And the line "Get Sherlock" is there for two reasons: (1) It's iconic (2) it's what I've been telling for three years before the fourth season came up.

Or at my hair that grows on top of it, since the deerstalker is so embedded it has been inseparable with my scalp..

I was sorting through an old bin of papers I saved from my childhood, and I came upon a forgotten outline for a Holmes story I had written.  (I never actually wrote out any of my stories, I just enjoyed coming up with ideas, lol.)  Must've been sometime in middle school.  It featured a character named Artemis (not her "real" name, but an alias).  It was funny reading it again, and as far as I remember it's the only Sherlockian thing I ever wrote, so I decided to make it my username.

I'll probably change it eventually, but my current avatar is a silhouette of Sherlock playing his violin.  In my outline, Artemis is a harpist (like myself, but decidedly much better at it, lol), and she and Sherlock share a love and knowledge of music that ends up being key.

I haven't decided on a signature yet, and I may not.  Too much good material to choose from.  =]

(As you can see, I overuse parentheses.)

I like the undecided signature, or is it decided? Is it from somewhere?

I have tons of quotes from others and my own to live by but can't replace what I am using now because it's just nice. I even use it as signature in my main personal messaging, but too bad people from work eventually access it as well for communication, eventhough I was already given separate work number (the only way to prevent it is having a third number which is not a good idea), but I'm happy to let them scratch their heads trying to figure out what it is about.

And as you see, I am a sucker for silhouette too :p

You are harpist? Whoa, I am curious because the only chance I imagine being close to that thing is being tangled in it. I am very interested in various musical instruments, without the ability to play them. :p

I thought I'd posted this before, but ... I LOOOVE your avatar. I'll take it when you don't want it anymore.

VBS, if you're talking about "I never expected to be anybody's best friend," that's from Sherlock's best-man speech.

Sherlock is explaining his oblivious and then stunned reaction to John trying to ask him to be his best man. The full quote is: "The point I'm trying to make is that I am the most unpleasant, rude, ignorant, and all-round obnoxious arsehole that anyone could possibly have the misfortune to meet. I am dismissive of the virtuous, unaware of the beautiful, and uncomprehending in the face of the happy. So if I didn't understand I was being asked to be best man, it is because I never expected to be anybody's best friend. And certainly not the best friend of the bravest and kindest and wisest human being I have ever had the good fortune of knowing."

I don't know if it will remain my signature, but I was rewatching TSoT the other night and it was something that struck a chord with me. Still undecided. =]

Yes, I am a harpist as well as a pianist. That is, I possess the skill while lacking any talent for it, lol. The harp is not nearly as complicated as it looks, though.

Good god!

Found a screw the other day, something must have fallen from my head.

You see... errr... *sheepishly* somehow thought and still find this interesting as signature:

(As you can see, I overuse parentheses.)

XD XD

I didn't see the actual signature, well of course I remember the best man speech, but thanks for explaining it for me. :p

Okay, let me put paper bag on top of my head and walk out quietly...

Aiz... eye holes! I need eye holes!

Oh, haha!  I can see how you would have thought that.  I actually did consider using it as a signature, lol.  But no, that was just included as a warning for people who are annoyed by parentheses, to expect more.  :P  I will never stop with the parentheses.

Why would anyone be annoyed by parentheses? (Yah I know there are :p)

Anyway, I was wondering why I like your username, and what it reminds me of, now I know!

It's not Aramis, the knight, but I like it because it sounds (slightly) like Alchemist. :p

I just have soft spot for those.

The Full Metal kind?

(Another parenthesis lover here. Just thought I'd point that out.) (Parenthetically.)

^ That was my first thought, haha.

VBS, what is it about the word "Alchemist" that you like?  The book?

Posted

:D

Certainly not the spiritual part or religious part :p Or the book.

Aiz.. it's more on the chemistry but they separate the terms long time ago, so I have nothing here. XD

Let's say it's the phonology then, or full metal :p :metal:

My username comes from the Torchwood fandom, my favourite character Owen Harper was a Medical doctor who came back from the dead. Hence Undead Medic, besides I have quite grown to like it!

As for my current avatar, I think it speaks for itself! :D

I LOVE Owen! He is tied for favourite, alongside Ianto!

Sheridan, thanks to your unique name, I found your facebook page, and am pleasantly amazed to see that the two of us have stood at the exact same spot in Bristol! I'm the one on the left (with a bad case of hat hair), along with Forum administrators Banshee and Undead Medic (AKA Tim).

Turkish names come from nature. Flowers, stars, animals (like my name), weather... etc...

My photo is Eurus. I like her character.
