"Sherlock" Action Figures and such

I agree that their John looks -- strange.  I assume Martin Freeman could manage to put on that facial expression, but I have absolutely no idea why he'd want to!

Actually, I think it's a pretty good likeness -- much more recognizable face than their John Watson.

Of course, I should be grateful to them for saving me a good chunk of money -- because if the Watson figure had been really good, I would have been sorely tempted to spring for it!

In addition to Sherlock, John, and Moriarty, Big Chief has announced a Mycroft figure as well -- here's the mold for his head, and here he is with his paint on.  (I am underwhelmed -- he looks about as much like DeForest Kelley as Mark Gatiss.)

They apparently started shipping (if you'll pardon the expression) Sherlock and John in early August.  Has anyone here actually received any of these figures yet?

These are apparently not posable "action" figures, but they look like good collectibles for anyone who likes caricatures.  (They're not intended to be either realistic or flattering, obviously!)

However --

The images you see here on the blog, and our social network pages are just concepts. Ever since the demand for them began, we’ve been looking for high quality manufacturers, and investigating how to acquire the licenses to produce them. We’ve been talking to lots of different people about making this happen, and things are now progressing well, so we’re hoping to have some announcements soon.

This came to us via Sherlockology, Empire Magazine, and A Large Evil Corporation itself.  Thanks, guys!

Sherlock Funko Pop Vinyls:

They're coming!  Although, I can't believe they left out most of the women... Molly, Mary, Mrs. Hudson.  I'm more than a little annoyed with the lack of Molly and Lestrade.

I think I'm most disappointed by the lack of a Molly Funko Pop.

The Mycroft one though is fabulous...

Sherlockology points out that these figures can also be pre-ordered (at 10.99 pounds each) from the BBC Shop (if you live in a country recognized by the BBC).  Those of us in the US (and perhaps elsewhere) can order from Entertainment Earth (at $9.99 each, presumably plus shipping).

Not bobbleheads!   Just cute little vinyl figures with ginormously large heads.  Funko makes them for a huge variety of fandoms/shows/movies.  I already have these sitting at my desk at work:

They serve no purpose other than adorable.

ETA:  They're just about 3.5" tall.

Seems they also have Bilbo and Smaug!

Note:  The dragon is roughly twice as tall as Bilbo, 6".

I wonder if they have one of Khan....

Apparently not -- the only Trek dolls they seem to have are for the original series and nextgen.

Oh, hey, they do Marvel characters too.  Gotta keep an eye on that!

And here's a list of all the franchises they cover.

Sitty, what kind of vinyl are these -- hard or squishy?

Can John sprain it?

I like Sherlock with coat but the purple shirt seems inaccurate, doesn't he always tuck it in?
