  1. I know the ninja turtles. I thought there were rumours I hadn't heard about benedict dubbing one of those characters in a film or smt. sorry ☺️
  2. hiddles would be a perfect new entry
  3. well, normally NTL is not show in the local cinemas too. I'd have loved to go and see Coriolanus again (after the theatre), but I'd have had to travel to another city and I was too lazy to do it, after all. surprisingly we're being lucky with frankenstein, which pleases me a great deal
  4. teenage turtle..? o_0 care to explain?
  5. I did love LOTR film because it's well made, with a great cast and very entertaining, but mainly cause I adore the book. I liked The Hobbit book too, but much less than LOTR, though I do like The hobbit movies more. and not cause of martin or benedict, actually. they certainty add something special to the films, martin especially, but that's it. I have seen dozens of times first two Hobbit films and I look very forward to the third: roll on, december! well, the dragon is not meeting a happy end, but you'll see plenty of it, so no worries. this if the book is taken in the proper consideration by mr jackson.. and battles.. well, with the title going The battle of the 5 armies, there'll likely be a good share of the film devoted to fights. though spectacular, I'm not overly fond of wars either: aside being a little of a wimp, I get easily bored by such scenes. what I like the most of The Hobbit book (the typical english everyman from the war times) is the concept so brilliantly phrased in The imitation game "sometimes it's the people no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine" and how it shows that little acts of kindness can change the world.
  6. alan carr? I REALLY don't like alan carr. either this or last year, tom hiddles was a guest and I couldn't bear watching the episode cause of carr. still have to watch this episode of GNS, but I mean to: seen gifs and it looks cool.
  7. in my post..? no, I didn't post any pic
  8. yes, I know.. just, sometimes when the plot gets to be too "soap opera-ish" it can become ridiculous..
  9. yess! I like bill. I wouldn't mind him being back as it'd be lovely too if the whole homeless network members would be introduced in some of the episodes. no, he doesn't always talk like that. I have seen him on stage in Cock and his voice is quite "normal", though it tends to be a little high pitched at times. now, since this is the "what would you like to see in series 4?" thread, I can be as hopelessly romantic as I want and confess (I'm actually a mixture of romance and cynicism). I'd like to see how/if it shows up again sherlock's hidden soft side, without he's turned into a puppy like creature I'd like to see more interaction with molly and his parents I'd like the story to go deeper into the relationship between sherlock and mycroft I'm curious to see who the new baddie will be these are just a few
  10. that's what I came across too, searching for burlesque fairytales on dvd and such. will have to look into the vimeo thing: am not familiar with it. has anyone watched it on that site?
  11. Yes, I was in such a dither that I didn't turn off autofocus...I used my DSLR that I normally use for astrophotography and I ALWAYS turn the autofocus off...naturally I was distracted this time. I need to get a lens with a better zoom but I am so relieved that you can tell it's him! hehe, looking at the pics I can see why you were distracted..
  12. awwww... super jealous!! first cause you saw the man, then cause your parents live in wells. love wells: beautiful city. thanks for the pics. I am also pretty sensitive to "paparazzi" pics, but you did photograph the crew filming, as it's been pointed out before, so it seems it's all right. I have to say I'm pretty glad some of the scenes will be filmed without that awful wig, that looks like a dead rat on his head. this new short haircut of his is SO gorgeous (forgive me, if I'm a little fangirly here ) and it does make him look so young. I've been all swoony over him ever since the LFF pics. sorry, going in a corner to recover
  13. I think I read somewhere on this forum that the official explanation for this was that sherlock had been bulking since the very first episodes because of john's presence at home: john would have made sure his friend ate regularly.
  14. Some of the Johnlock shippers are alright with Mary. Those Johnlockers just think, "Yay, threesomes!" In fact, I saw a drawing of Mary getting a kiss on the cheek from both John and Sherlock at once. Maybe that's what set those "will Sherlock be part of a love triangle" people off... Although I think they were trying to hint at Irene and Molly. Or Molly and Janine. Or Janine and Irene. Or... (Ooooh, this needs to go in my "what would you like to see in series 4" list: Irene actually meets Janine briefly, and all she does is give her one long disdainful look. That could be wonderful.) oh, I can see irene and janine..
  15. ehm.. perhaps it'd be a little "too much" for me.. I think I'd prefer the infamous 3rd sibling to enter the story a more ordinary way, if he/she just HAS to be inserted in the plot
  16. isn't the benedict wax stature impressive? I think it is which leads me to a question: I noticed everyone here almost, or at least many members, refer to him as mr cumberbatch, same as they call martin, mr freeman etc. I don't mean to be disrespectful, mine's a sort of friendly approach (I for one, would hate to be called M. L.).. but may still call benedict... benedict, martin.. martin and so on..? finally, 38 y.o. middle aged?? are we joking?? O_o
  17. happy bday, andrew scott. great actor and lovely person!
  18. khan is one my fave benedict characters. aside his looks (I don't care so much he's bulkier. I rather LOVE the khan hair.. and his face generally - really black eyebrows, vs the blondish eyebrows sherlock sports), anyway, what intrigues me the most about khan is his complexity. not just a killer machine. I'd love him to come back in the next ST movies.
  19. I have never seen it and for some reason it never interested me, though I do like the book and some of the previous versions I have seen. now I want to go and see it in cinemas (NTL). I look actually forward to it.
  20. I am ashamed to admit .. I'm not a shakespeare fan been studying his works extensively in school, seen stage shows, films taken from his books and I still cannot bring myself to like him there do are some of his works I like a little, though: much ado about nothing, for ex. I really didn't like hamlet: I hope benedict will make me change my mind. "About a boy" is a lovely book. and I do adore E.M. Forster. read all his books.
  21. Oh dear, I am so sorry. Mrs Elton is a character in Jane Austen's novel "Emma", a common obnoxious upstart, who marries the village minister and refers to her husband as "Mr. E.", which the heroine, well-bred Emma, considers the height of vulgarity. And yes, that quote about having played stupid people as well is very funny, but: examples, please? I haven't seen all of his films / series, but so far, I have not come across any character played by Benedict Cumberbatch whom I would call "stupid". Can you think of anybody? ehm.. a little ashamed now, having read Emma yrs ago and completely forgotten about this character.. well, little charles (august: osage county) is a lovely, warm guy, but not exactly bright.. patrick (starter for 10) may think he's an high IQ, but he comes out as utterly stupid maj. jamie (war horse) doesn't strike as particularly intelligent too..
  22. my situation precisely. first I came across this guy playing the hobbit one of my friends kept blabbing about, cause he was in this series callled sherlock she and everyone else apparently, watched and loved so much and I hadn't seen yet..
  23. thanks for the explanation: I didn't know that. I don't know how I feel about a third sibling entering the story. I don't feel it's necessary, nor it interests me in any way, but of course if moffat & gatiss create a REALLY intriguing character, then I may change my mind..
