Hello everyone,

I'm Saramarie, mostly just called Sara. I'm a 24 year old paramedic in good old London.

I am a lover of cars, astronomy, red wine, black coffee, dark chocolate, the theatre, Shakespeare, photography, learning, books, history, science, video games, F1, tea, rugby, art, chocolate, marvel superheroes and the smell of books and many many many other things.

Looking forward to getting to know some of you :)

Hello Sara and welcome to the forum!

A pity Aely's not around much at the moment, she'd love to meet you! Well, a pity she's not around much, period, but being licenced to defibrillate herself (though she does it in Liverpool iirc) you two would have a lot to talk about, I think.

Licensed to defibrillate! I like that! I may have to use it :). Thanks for all your kind words guys.

Hello, Sara -- welcome to Sherlock Forum!  :welcome:  I love your avatar.  :D

It's great to have a real London paramedic on board -- you may get a lot of questions about certain scenes!

Great!  So far, I believe there have been two scenes with paramedics.

In "Reichenbach," it was apparently fake paramedics who phoned John, but even so they'd want to be as realistic as possible, so as to fool him.  Do paramedics sometimes make phone calls like that?  And what realistic reason might they have given for saying Mrs. Hudson would still be at Baker Street long enough for John to get there (instead of on the way to a hospital)?

Then there's Sherlock's relapse in "Last Vow."  I have no questions about that scene, but if you have comments, I'm interested.

Hmmm, well we always say that the sicker a patient is the longer we spend on the scene stabilising them. Once the patient is in the ambulance then we spend at least another half hour on scene taking blood pressure, doing a 12 lead EGC and generally making sure they are fit to travel, so as a general rule yes, John may have very possibly been able to get there before they left.

With regard to the phone call, yes as para's we do make phone calls. However, if the police are in attendance (which, let's face it, at a shooting they would be) then they would do it instead. So yes we do make phone calls, but we wouldn't have done in that particular situation.

I will have to rewatch HLV as I don't remember Sherlock's relapse. XD

Interesting insights Saramarie.  The relapse is at Baker St. after he gets John to accept Mary is now their client not just his lying wife as Sherlock left the hospital well before he should have from his shooting injury.  He talks about the average length of time for an ambulance to arrive in London as the paramedics arrive at the flat and he tells them his possible issues based on what had happened earlier.

Thanks, Sara.  It's nice to know that nothing really sticks out as phony regarding "the Hudson shooting."  I'd have been disappointed in John for not catching something really glaring.

Still don't remember. I'm an awful fan! I must rewatch it!

Hm, I actually just looked it up for you... On Sherlock's website, there was supposed to be an analysis of perfumes, but it just says: Notes to be added. The analysis of tobacco ash has been deleted (maybe because John made fun of it). And I can't find anything on the sheep wool :D

Uh-huh.  <_<

He's apparently living in your subconscious now -- so you have something in common with Sherlock!
