( By now, I console myself with the thought it's just another adaptation among decades of other adaptations, it will run its course and be archived like the rest of them! If I could sit through Gene Wilder's and Michael Caine's spoofs, and watch the Billy Wilder pustule twice, I can put up with this until it runs its natural course! )

Of all the 98.504 things I would do if I had excess money to burn, I would buy whatever iphone/ipad/macbook you have to see how to stop the snow.

I dislike apple products tremendously but they can't be that dysfunctional.

Inge, have you tried changing your Theme (using the Change Theme button at the bottom of any forum page)?  Four of the seven have no snow: IP.Board, Safe for Work, and the two mobile themes.  Just click on the theme of your choice, and you should be fine for the duration.

If you've already tried this, but with no success, what does happen?  When you click "Change Theme," do you get the drop-down menu?  If so, what happens when you click one?

98,498 times, dear Carol, there is no Change theme button at the end of any of the pages! The holidays are over, even Sherlock's 161st birthday is over, enough with the snowflakes, already!

Inge, what type of device are you using to access the forum? And why is the snow a problem, does it obscure your view of the screen or something like that? (Carol, I'm wondering if it's a problem for anyone else who might be using the same kind of device as Inge ....)

98,495 times Moriarity visited the flat in its occupants' absence.

(Dear Carol, Dear Arcadia, I already answered about the devices above: iPad , MacBookAir. The snowflakes are like tiny flashes of a strobe-like effect: like real strobe, they affect vision neurons and are highly distracting, not to the point of causing a seizure or a fit, but still not pleasant at all. Shall try to find Theme with no snow, even if I don't like it's appearance! Thank you for your kindly concern, ladies, I'm grateful! )

98,494 times I'm speechless: the main theme is named "deviant"! So the whole forum is a subtext supporter? ^_^

98493 times you never know what subtext you may run across on the forum! :p

Okay, I think I understand now why the snow is a problem, in certain conditions they look like that on my screen for a second, but they go away so it's not an issue for me. But I can see how it would be annoying.

It sounds like you have been able to find the menu to change themes after all, yay! I'll have to let Carol help with choosing one, though, I'm still not familiar with all the variations.

(although Carol mentioned something about being addressed as Your Esteemed Moderatorship during the Waterfowl Princess debate) for their support in a forum which has become a sort of home from home!

Inge, since you seem to have found the theme menu, the snow-free ones are IP.Board, Safe for Work, and the two mobile themes.  Hey, what happened to the Deviant No Snow theme?  Well, anyhow, there are a few for you to choose from.  Let us know how they work for you!

I'm still seeing snow (on the IP.Board theme), just not as much.
