Who knows if they use that stick to bring down something from the trees :p

I second Shadow's guess of water diviners. As the terrain looks more arid I'd say that they are immigrants to some place like Australia that has deserts than the more tropical region that is generally associated with Malaysia, Singapore, & Indonesia.

Not dowsing/dousing/water source searching/water diviners, but it reminds me that I should try looking for water source that way someday (read it works! :))

One of the countries mentioned is correct, however, I wouldn't say which one yet, the more important one is actually a very specific place.

Not for bringing down something from the trees, but yes, one of the clues is the stick's shape.

I tried this technique for water source searching, when and friend and I visited his family in romania. It works! Im my case it worked like 1 out of 3 times or so but if you are a professional it should really work.

That is interesting. 1 out of 3 doesn't sound bad at all.

Does it really pull you down when you find the water source? (Or do I understand the method wrongly XD I remember seeing it from cartoon....err.. not very reliable source)

Resurrecting inactive thread.

Mushroom seeker? :D

No XD but that would make interesting story.

Clue:

- It is a very dangerous job.

- This place is an island.

You are very close Camper.

I guess you mean ranger?

Not snake, something else.

Country is right, but what is the place?

I meant wrangler.  Just remembered the correct spelling of the word.

But I second SD and go with rangers/guides on Komodo Island and dealing with Komodo Dragons.

Rangers in Komodo Island is correct.

- The guys are very tan, suggesting that they are working outdoor most of the time.

- The attire, sport shoes, is something needed when you need your feet protected, or if the job requires a lot of walking and trekking which it does, and.. in event you have to run, fast!

- T-shirt without jacket or coat suggest tropical area where those are not needed. Cap to protect from sun exposure, protect from heat. Head part is more important than the rest of the body from cold/hot exposure.

- The stick, it has funny shape. Looks like something for snake, but the size of the split end is too big for snakes, even python or anaconda. The long reach indicates big-sized dangerous animals that shouldn't be approached at close range. Rule out big cats, primates, snake, or animals that won't have any problem attacking you even if you have that device. The clue says the job relates to very specific place, the only place that has this animal in the wild. Specific big-sized animal in specific place.

Komodo Dragon in Komodo Island.

While the stick is helpful to deter them, the nature of good relationship between human and the dragons is the key. As long as human don't disturb their territory, and avoid encounter with them during period (hence all rangers are male) the dragons are quite peaceful to human in nature. But they are not to be underestimated at all, as they run as fast as dogs, have ability to swim and dive. Even if you are able to escape their attack, the toxic saliva might kill you if they steal a bite.

Well done Shadow and Camper,

I think Shadow got it first, go ahead with another deduction for us.

I don't have a pic at the moment, unless you want to guess the ingredients of today's fruit bars ;) CAMPer, your turn as the one who spearheaded the narrowing of possibilities.

It'll take me a bit to come up with something.  Not sure if I'll get it tonight or on Saturday my time as Friday I'm going to be offline all day.

Take your time guys. I don't have anything now as well, had been stranded for three and a half day, unable to fly back because of some situation at airport.

Anyone want to step in also feel free to.

Ok so I was offline most of the day and will be again in a few minutes until it is tomorrow.

I'm looking, but so far I haven't found anything.

To fill time, because I think you guys will know it straightaway.

I wouldn't have gotten it!

Here's another one I'd never guess, but let's see if you ladies can. What is this used for?

That is harness, normally used for climbing, caving or outdoor activities. :)

It's for safety, moving from one point to another, vertical or horizontal in dangerous terrain. Beside connecting body to safety rope, it's also useful for keeping activity's knick knacks in reach, like hammer, carabiner, ropes, hand dust etc.

Rats. You're 100% right! Congratulations, you have just demonstrated how ignorant I am!! :D :D
