Now that you mention it; I can relate to that. But I have a theory ... it's because they're just being themselves, they're not trying to impress me or flirt or whatever. Nothing turns me off faster than a guy who tries to impress me. And flirting either goes over my head or embarrasses me. Just talk to me like a person, guys, I'm not an alien species.

 

Maybe you are right. But in my theory it's just proving myself that "hormonal response" is a bad thing. :P

The magic of lighting and cameras, able to age Benedict 10 years in less than 6 months. Or it's the drawback of turning 40; aging 10 years in less than 1.

I think it may be the high contrast between his skin and the black hair and smock.  Makes it kinda hard for us and/or the camera to see fine detail (e.g., wrinkles character lines).

It's almost like they pointedly made him haggard in season 4 even though very little time was supposed to have passed.

"Proper" in that he looks like his character, instead of looking like Benedict Cumberbatch in orange makeup. That's assuming they wanted Strange to look like a thirty-something white guy, of course.
