  1. You should have registered just a little earlier here, then you would have known. :D Actually I only knew because I think it was Lalarun who told me here first (thank you! ) , and I posted it in a few threads right on monday evening (after I put it in my calendar when I read it first), so no one who's around would miss it. Otherwise I probably would have missed it too.... Ah Karlsruhe, the other end of Germany  ...greetings from Berlin City!
  2. I have not yet watched Season 6, unfortunately...hope they will show it soon on german television soon. I have to admit, I never read the comics. I only have 4 audiobooks that are like the comics - Daryl is not in them, like I heard he's also not in the comics. By the way, he has the same dub voice in the german translation as Sherlock. ...
  3. There is, one that meets the wrong end of a flamethrower. extra crispy.
  4. yay, Daryl...I like the 4+5 season hair better though. And I adore 'Rambo-Carol' and Michonne!
  5. And maybe some new babies too. are you pregnant? :D
  6. This reminds me a bit on a german show master from the seventies (? I don't know I used to watch it with my grandma when I was little...which was late seventies/early 80s...), haha...always when something went good in the game he said "Das war spitze!" ("That was top!") and jumped like this in the air. sorry, double-posted the quote... :/
  7. Hi there, and welcome! From where in Germany are you? You missed The abominable bride on Monday at ARD? :( That's really sad...but maybe they will rerun it someday soon or skip it to RBB (or any other regional tv station near you, wherever you live - I just remembered that mostly when stuff was aired already at ARD, like all the Sherlock seasons, they give it a while later to RBB to rerun...) I saw TAB in the livestream on monday because I have no regular tv anymore. Unfortunately they don't have it in the mediathek anymore, so people can't watch it later....I wonder why!
  8. yesterday announced for Berlin Comic Con 2016: Doc Brown from Back to the future! (or some know him also as Uncle Fester... ) Hey Sherlock people, get in the Delorean and beam yourselves over here, too! this is going to be so cool in October. :D
  9. Today, me and my dad met up in a cat cafè. Totally cute! there were lots of cat items of course, and two lovely live cat hosts beside the human one whom the cafe belongs to! Beverages were fair priced, it was clean, and it was a great atmosphere.
  10. Happy birthday, sung by a few Corgis. :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ6tRB5egts
  11. I see, then I got it right, because short-arse to me sounds not very insulting either , just like Wichtel, haha...and I think too (like Sherlock probably does) that things were less fun when Moriarty were not around. What would he (or we) do without him? So he might be dead but his spirit always comes back to haunt us..... :P urgh, Magnusson was scary and just a terrible person, yes. Hehe, yes, imagine John Wolowitz, isn't it horrible?? It works in The Big Bang Theory, but not with Sherlock... About dubbed versions - I just saw '100 Code' on DVD. And on first run the Original undubbed version. It's the first time I had to put on subtitles, because half of it was swedish. I learned norse a bit once, and some of the words are similar, but I did not understand much, except for the parts where they speak english and a few swedish words. One day I will watch the german version just to see how they managed that, if they spoke also half swedish or all in german, which would be weird because the show lives a lot from cultural differences and it's quite interesting.
  12. Oh god, yes - I so miss old school phone boxes sometimes, when public phones still were kinda private! It's so annoying having to hear other people's useless conversations about whomever they are gossipping! I also don't like being called when I am outdoors, my mobile is actually only for text messages, and my people know this, so they would only call if it's important.
  13. "Short-arse" sounds so strange to my American ears. It's like they are having this really intense moment, and then there's this ineffective little almost-an-insult thrown in. I wonder what would be the equivalent that would capture the actual intensity? I agree with JP that it was meant as an insult, and I understand what you mean - it makes the scene kind of weird-funny ( I would not say ridiculous, it is rather unexpected funny, maybe unintentional...), especially in german. Possibly it is to americans the same with some 'very british' words. What would americans call a short annoying person? B) Midget? (would sound funny as well I think, haha...) What do the british people around here say? Is short-arse a rather funny word, or a bad insult for Moriarty?
  14. Ah I see, I just connected the landing rather to Reichenbach than the plane in the special then...so, different interpretation. ;) Think I have to watch the german version again now, because I actually don't remember the word 'intermezzo' at all. :D Yes, the acting ability of the dub speaker is important. (That's what my aquaintance said when she spoke about her work, too. She said it really sucks when people just read the words from a script, you hear it in the result. It's like with actors, people got to have the talent for it.) But even if they are experienced speakers - especially noticed it in the scene when John said 'I'm going to bring Mary home.' and Mary says 'What?'; 'Mary's bringing me home', and she says 'Better'. Maybe it's generally the interaction and the way to speak of the original actors, and it was only bit of a nuance the dubs didn't catch it like in the original. Maybe it was because I have seen it already in english before, but it wasn't as funny as when I saw it in the english version in the first place. Just an example, as it was one of the significant scenes that I remembered from first time watching and made me giggle, and go like: Yesss... hehe.
  15. I don't think John has a new voice (I haven't seen the dubbed one for a while, but it still sounds like Howard Wolowitz from The Big Bang Theory like it did before (that's one of the reason I don't like his German voice, I just cannot take him seriously somehow because of that association)). I hate those changes too when I notice them by the way. Wichtel  I agree that was very funny. Easter elf, according to the air date? :D Oh no, that's why I thought all the time 'I definitely know this voice, but so not with John Watson!!' - its Wolowitz, of course! Haven't seeen TBBT in a while, since I have no regular TV anymore and they don't have whole episode updates on the website who broadcasts it, unfortunately...so I don't even know which season it is right now, and I have only the first season on DVD as a UK-import... Ha, and when Moriarty spoke I had to think of Agent Tim McGee from NCIS. Dubbed versions are so weird sometimes, but hey, we have really some decent dub speakers here (I even know one of them but she does mostly childrens shows cos she's got quite a high feminine voice...) - have you ever seen a film dubbed in turkish....? :P It's just that I have sometimes the feeling, that the english and the german versions have bit of a different mood to the shows, I don't know how to better explain it, it's just feels different, you know what I mean?
  16. No, it was J.P.'s post about the landing and the intermezzo, which is something I didn't get either, so maybe she can explain what she meant to the both of us then...? ;) Well, in case of landing the plane or something - the german word for landing is actually 'Landung' or the verb is 'landen' (to land), so it's basically only one little difference, but I have no idea what exactly J.P. meant there. I now watched the english version once again, and yes, it was Sherlock calling Moriarty 'short-arse', which can be translated as 'Wichtel' or 'Wicht', too...
  17. I have to say, me too. There are so many posts here I can relate to. And today, the sentence 'I don't hate people, I hate the noise they make.', really came in handy when I was talking to someone, because it says so much and it's the perfect explanation for it in short.
  18. poor doggy (video), haha....! Caya, your rabbit on the pic looks like it would be Helga's size, or even bigger, like those who are called 'german giants'...(or one of Radagasts sledge bunnies, which are probably bigger though! ) Very cute picture! Yes, I have seen pics like this in our rabbit forum, there are rabbits snuggling up to poodles or others like chihuahuas for example. But it must be really a great tolarance on both sides. I once had a friend bringing her Yorkie for a visit. Gandalf was cool about it, rather curious, cos he never met a dog before, but Helga constantly stomped her foot, she was pretty pissed and did not like the dog at all. The dog was just excited and wanted to play, but that was not really a good thing, Helga is not fond of dogs, even when they are smaller than her, haha... VBS, your doggy is totally cute! I know what you mean, I love big dogs better myself, but when there's a cute little one, I would love it, too! What's his name?
  19. That would make it Sherlock and John, as I just watched the Special over here, haha..... :sherlock2: to the rescue! :lol2:
  20. It was so strange watching it in German now because I am not used to their dub voices anymore...does Watson have a new one? (I hate it when actors get new voices, it recently happened with Mulder in the X-files and it's just annoying. But maybe I am already so used to Martin Freemans real voice that the dub one sounds so strange...that Sherlock's got the same as Daryl Dixon is okay and it kinda works, haha...) And I have to say, as much as I love the Now-Watson - I dislike the victorian one. :P Mary is the coolest :D . I have to say, I first was suspicious what happens when Mary comes in the show, but she is a great character, you just gotta love her. Molly, too - she's hell of a drag king! And I so had to laugh about the scene at the waterfall, when er, I think it was Watson, calls Moriarty 'Wichtel' - I don't remember what the english expression is in the scene, but it sounded so funny. :lol2: Somehow did not fit in the whole moment, it was hilarious! Wichtel is in german something like a dwarf, or small christmas elf, haha...
  21. I have seen it already on BBC, but of course I'll watch! :D
  22. Sherlock Special in Germany tonight! :D
  23. f*** Rain Man. I hate the fact that because it, everybody thinks that people with autism are like that I actually just thought of Rain Man because he counts a lot in the film. Didn't make any assumptions, judgement or whatever...about nobody. I could also have said 'A beautiful mind' cos I think movie-related a lot.
  24. little reminder: Toniiiiight in Germany, finally!!! :sherlock2: http://www.daserste.de/unterhaltung/film/sherlock/die-braut-des-grauens-sendetermin-100.html and if you click on the 'Live' button you can watch it on the net, just in case you don't have 'regular' tv (like me) - maybe you can have a look from other countries as well, I don't know about the connection....Or later in the Mediathek I guess... Even my mum will watch, hehe :D
  25. Sweeeeeeet! Yes, I know what you mean, and it's definitely not always a good idea to have dogs AND rabbits (or other small animals for that matter). Most cats and dogs have the hunter instinct, even when you think they get along with the other animals. I know a couple of people who have like dogs, cats, rabbits etc together and they seem to live in peace, but I would never be sure about that, even if I trust them. That's why I wouldn't keep a cat or dog (or ferrets, which I adore as well!) along with my pets. It's just not right, even if I love them all. What kind of dog do you have? Oh yes, always so sad, no matter if it's a small or bigger pet who has to leave...they all belong with the family. :( Here's a video by a guy who does guinea pig videos a lot on youtube, mostly they are funny, like this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-ZMHtEC7rc (the title says : are guinea pigs just stupid? the rest is understandable in any language, haha...the guinea pig and the carrot. :D) Hope you all still have a happy easter time! Because of the summertime skip of one hour here in Germany, the dinner time has skipped as well. Usually my guinea pigs would make noise right now because it's close to 18.00h , which is usual time, but now it's dinner time at 19.00h And today there's Sherlock special time all over Germany , finally !
