  1. Richard Castle recently became a detective, too. See in the 'favourite tv shows' - listing that I recently posted, I have been a fan of detective shows since I was little. My grandma introduced me to stuff like Miss Marple very early. Can't really say who is the best (apart from Sherlock, of course :P )
  2. Thank you. It's pretty empty in their home now, because she leaves a huge gap. I think the one who misses her the most is Freddy, he just got to know her and the other two girls that moved in with him and his other two. Shortly before christmas Ali, their former leader (guinea pigs live in a harem (it's how they naturally live in wilderness) so I only have one 'boygroup' (because there's always too many male guinea pigs looking for a home, and those four guys get along quite well), but the others are one castrated male and some female piggies), died from cancer, he was still very young (and also one of my favourites), and when I put the 2 groups together, Freddy had suddenly 5 girls to take care of. And he and Lola became friends, now he looks a bit lost. And no one demanded as cutely for food as she did. *sigh*. But well, she had a long life, and she was taken care of and well loved. And she gets a nice burial beside her old friend Ali, a friend of mine has a garden where she buries her pet rats, and recently one of them died too, like on christmas, so she takes her along with it. So sad, recently always before the holidays a pet dies...(only that one time I had guinea pig babies shortly before easter, so there also was life....I usually do not support the breeding, and my pets are almost all castrated, it was only once - it was so cute ) And now enough of the sad thoughts, anyone got another cute picture of an animal? :sherlock2:
  3. Nope, just Big Barney... :D I am a bit sad today. One of my oldest guinea pigs, Lola, died last night. She was one of my favourites, always so lovely and until her last days a very bubbly and friendly one...she became 6 years (or maybe more, I don't know her exact birth date, but she was quite an old lady). Goodbye Lola. :'(
  4. Yup, I did see the film when it came out, and recently received it on DVD. I am not the biggest fan of delToros monsters (the ghosts are somewhat ugly in the whole rather beautiful interior of Allerdale Hall, but maybe it was intentionally...only 'Thomas' in the end looked rather nicely and bit of bowie-esque), but the rest of the whole thing is just brilliant. Nothing new and groundbreaking (for people who have watched scary movies for a lifetime already, I kinda grew up with them ), but a decent scary movie which I enjoy watching. I don't know how Benedict would have fit the role, but maybe he would have made something entirely different then, why not? Though now as you say, it's hard to imagine after Hiddleston...it would be as if someone else now would be trying to play Loki. :P I love Mia Wasikowska since I first saw her in 'Alice...', and it wasn't the first time she and Tom Hiddleston played in a movie together, I have already seen them in 'Only lovers left alive', very good and 'gothic' cast if you will...but definitely none of Jim Jarmusch's best in my opinion. Love his films, but Jarmusch making vampire movies is a bit like Tim Burton trying to make a regular rom com with Hugh Grant or something. Jessica Chastain was awesome too, of course. Didn't really know her name before.
  5. oh, and let me quickly introduce - Mrs. Hudson! isn't she cute? thought it would fit a little into the 'Sherlock' theme here, hehe .... - she lives currently with a guy named Barney (whose brother's name is Fred, but he lives with other girls here), and no I don't have a Sherlock or John, unfortunately. I only have Gloin, Kili & Fili, to be named after popular film characters :lol2: ....Gimli (who was Gloin's son for real, they were actually my first guinea pigs...Gloin is 6 years old now) moved out in a different home a couple of years ago.
  6. Hehe, yes, it is Peter Jacksons extended edition of The Two Towers when Gimli says that....and yes, Köddel is a funny word also in german, I think it has its origin somewhere in North Germany. - and extra for you I uploaded some 'toilet Pics'... :D Gandalf in the kitchen.... Helga in the living/sleeping room....in case you wonder about the cotton bag - it's filled with hay, they like chewing during toilet visits. In the kitchen I only put a bit of hay in the toilet as I have no opportunity there to hang a bag or something.
  7. I remembered yesterday when I thought about what Gimli says in the forest about trees talking (when they are in Fangorn forest and Legolas explains the trees are talking to each other), when he says 'what have trees to talk about, except for the consistancy of squirrel droppings', haha....so yes, their droppings, is what I mean. :D They are luckily dry, so you just collect them from the floor and put them in the toilet, when they drop them somewhere else. (I still have to do that sometimes because they just take them sometimes with them when hopping out if the toilet or 'mark' something in the territory...it doesn't bother me, as long as they don't pee anywhere, because rabbit pee stinks! ^_^ ) Yes, the toilets are basically the same as cats toilets, you only use wooden chips instead of kitty litter, because if they eat the litter they can choke from it and die. So always use wooden litter, I use the stuff for reptiles (also wood chips, only not so fluffy like they are made usually for rodents) and put a layer of straw over it so it's softer to their feet. The reptile floor is just more practical, as the usual floor for rodents keep hanging in their furry feet (it's so cute they have big hairy cuddly feet! I only had rodents with naked paws before, like rats, hamsters, gerbils or the guinea pigs...) and you have it all over the place, and really, the hay they carry all over the place is well enough, haha... Also, rabbits love the digging, so the bowl should be high enough so the litter does not fly around when they start digging in it. I'll check if I find a photo with one of them in the toilet, so you can see what it looks like.
  8. Yes, I agree about the Memory Palace: it's very similar, only that it's called Mind Palace in Sherlock and he doesn't use a pendulum like Will does. Oh the closing scene....I have been watching the episode with audio commentary, and they said that - like I did too somehow - lots of people think it's Bedelia serving her own leg for dinner. I actually didn't think it for sure, I just WONDERED what's gotten into her now??? Is it, or is it not...? I mean, living with Hannibal may someday make you a little nuts, I am sure, but would she really...? But I remember Bryan Fuller said that it's not the case, but didn't want to tell what it is either, so...still a mystery - hopefully solved SOMEDAY in a 4th season, or a movie. I would actually like a full movie with that cast on the big screen. (Hey, they did it with the X-files, so why not with Hannibal?) ....Maybe it's the other leg of ....er what's the name of Eddie Izzards character again? Are they still keeping him around? Was it in the fridge? Or it's not a leg at all? (Really need to watch again, haha....there's so much information to digest in that season, so good reasons to watch the show once more, haha...) What do you think was going on there? It's interesting to hear other people's theories on that part....I guess that's why they did it in the end, so people keep discussing.
  9. Honestly, I was lucky that they used the toilet from the start without me needing to train them. I don't know, even though I am sure Gandalf only had a cage in the lab and never had an idea about rabbit toilets. He just went to do his business right in the toilet and nowhere else, as if he automatically knew that it was exactly there for that purpose. Helga just picked up on it, she didn't have a toilet in the animal shelter either. Basically, it's easy though. When you notice a spot where they frequently like to pee, you put the toilet there, so they learn that they have to go in there. And you can show them by putting their little crap bobbels (what do you say in english? we say 'Köddel' in german...or 'Knödel' which means dumplings  ) into it, soak maybe a tissue in the pee and put it there so it gets their smell. Rabbits are smart, they soon will pick up on it. You should also give them a treat when they did it the first couple of times, so they relate it to something positive, and they will know it's a good thing to use the toilet. I don't bathe them, they keep themselves clean very well. Rabbits only need a bath when they become old or sick, and they can't take care of themselves anymore. But never when they are still able to clean themselves/each other. That's also one reason why it's important to have more than one of them. They are very social beings, and they take care of each other very well.
  10. No, they should never be living in cages...unfortunately, still too many poor souls do! Fortunately, at least in Germany the information about how to actually keep a rabbit properly as pet is (slowly but steady) spreading more and more among people who really love animals and want to give them a good home. I thought at first I couldn't have one cos I have no garden and stuff (which of course is the best way to have them: a big garden, of course made secure for them so they can't escape and no one can break in)...but if they can run around the rooms, it's fine. There are so many rabbits who need a home, any place like this is fine. Here, Helga looks for the way to Hobbiton...(a few inches to the left is my bed...which is on ca. 1,80m pillars! underneath is another guinea pig home, that's how she got there: over the window sill, into the downstairs 'flat' and up she jumped - so where she is, is the 'loft'....) and my guinea pigs are wondering what 'Bunzilla' is doing in their home  ... about the chewing - you should not be squeamish about your carpet or tapestry, these are favourites - here Gandalf showed how much he loves me by ripping this into my carpet.... :lol2: When I am lucky, lovely folks who have gardens with fruit and nut - trees, give me loads of twigs (currently some of my mothers friends cut their trees for the summer, it's awesome!), so I am able to keep them away from it for a while, and they have something more suitable and natural to chew besides the tons of hay and veggies I am giving them. Anything with wood is the best, but if's either the trees and other suitable things - or your furniture. :P By the way, the only things that live here in cages are the cables!
  11. Like you, I don't agree with the comparison either. Never crossed my mind for a second, when I saw the final scene. Hehe, yes, it's Molly...I like her, and that she supports him despite it's so dangerous and all. (don't know if she likes the result in the end though... :P ) Like maybe Molly Hooper supported Sherlock during the Fall - maybe that was the comparison in a way? I like that the writers played with the fan(fiction)s with the variuos images of what could have happened, and that there's in a way also a Moriarty/Sherlock connection like Will/Hannibal. (like Sherlock and Moriarty (almost?) kissing on the roof, and hey - one millimeter ahead, and there people had the 'Hannigram' for real ) But I think Sherlock's relationship with John is too strong to get him 'together' with Moriarty on the level that Will and Hannibal already have. The people who ship the Sherlock/Moriarty couple might see it differently.... Well, maybe in season 4 then, now that John is married, hehe...and Moriarty sporting the wedding dress didn't look too bad.
  12. Yes they do, just a bit differently. Instead of vocalizing that they want your attention (for that I have a couple of guinea pigs also - they squeak pretty loud when they want food, but they don't like touching. They also don't cuddle, that's why it's a myth that rabbits and guinea pigs can be partners - they live together in peace, yes, but each needs their own partners, because of different habits and body language. Rabbits like the snuggling with each other and sometimes people, guinea pigs do not, for example), they give you a soft shove with the nose, or they just lay down beside you, so you can touch them. I am very lucky with them both, because not everybunny's like that. When Gandalf was alone here at first (he was actually not meant to stay, it was only a 'makeshift solution' at first after he left the lab, until he can move on to someone elses place - but since we got along so well, he stayed then...and I don't regret one single day, they are both the best!), and my bed was still on the floor, he snuggled at night by my feet like a dog or cat would do, and when it was time to wake up, he came up and gave me a little shove with his nose. (One day actually I woke up with a whole bunny draped right over my face, haha...). Now my bed is 'upstairs', because Helga (the black and white one) was not so gentle with her treatment of me at first, and unfortunately they lose a lot of hair and tend to eat your bedsheets, so it's better that way. Now they sleep mostly under the bed. Helga is now actually the even more 'cuddly' one. We needed to get used to each other at first, but now we're inseperable. They are a lot like cats or dogs to me. They live free in my flat, and they have toilets which they use. It's a very easy living with them, you only need to put all stuff away you don't want to have them chew on, or could be dangerous, like cables and stuff. I always wanted a cat or dog, but now I am glad it's them. They use their toilet, they don't need to go for a walk, and like me, they eat no meat. :cookie: And they are sometimes even bigger than a dog or cat (he is about 5 kilos, she's 6-7 kilos) - so a lot to love :D I have to look for the one funny picture when Helga once tried to come up to my bed and hopped through the 'stairs' of my guinea pigs places...she's such a smart rabbit! (The name she didn't get from me by the way, it was given to her by the animal shelter I got her from. I actually wanted to name her 'Galadriel' in addition to Gandalf, but Helga suits her so well that I kept it, haha...it's quite an old fashioned german name - by the way, I have a guinea pig called 'Mrs. Hudson' ... :D ) I heard a trailer on the radio about zootopia, and I am considering to watch it.
  13. Cuddly chilly bunnies.
  14. For everybody who likes comedy & zombies (or just some funny weird stuff, anyway - the zombies are not to compare with TWD, makeupwise...they look just silly  ) I recommend 'Shaun of the dead' (no series, it's a film, but as currently we talk a bit about zombies I thought I'll throw it in...) - I heard of it before, but came to watch it today for the first time - actually Martin Freeman does a very mini part in it, like just being the boyfriend of some chick from the neighbourhood Shaun and his people bump into while on the run. (very short appearance!) I didn't know it, I swear - I just got the film because it sounded funny and I like Simon Pegg from Star Trek and Mission Impossible. Then I was like ??? Martin Freeman in that, too? Haha...with very very short hair. Running from Zombies :D
  15. Haha, sweet - I just played the video here, and my pet rabbit (the black & white one) came hopping out of the kitchen to see what's going on, she seems to like his voice ...
  16. It's addictive, isn't it? I really tried not to spoil any of the things happening, just the people who are in it, didn't know it was spoilery already, sorry :P (I actually knew how the whole thing ended, way before I could watch the third season, as I sometimes zap throug fanvideos on youtube...never bothers me though, because those videos are most so out of the things actually happening or implying things ( like Hannigram XD for example, or that it's a comedy film :D some people have just hilarious ideas!), so it's just basically a picture / short scene spoiling me - but in the end, things are differently in the show anyway...but I know lots of people absolutely don't want to know anything before seeing the real deal, which I also understand. ) I myself sat through season 2 like you say - I watched until I really had to sleep and could not follow anymore. Season three I got slower through, and I had to rewatch it - I admit I understood some of it only after the audio commentaries. (I could have watched it in german, but didn't want to, I like the actors voices in original too much... ) they are explaining a lot there, I love the audio commentary function.
  17. I have to admit, I needed a while with The Walking Dead. It's nothing you can watch all the time, or inbetween something. And you shouldn't switch into the show like anywhere in the seasons, like you can maybe watch Sherlock season 3 first and then the others or so, or just an episode, to get hooked on it. I remember my first 'encounter' with TWD was like 'WTF?', because one night I switched into an episode somewhere in the middle of season 4, and I thought: 'Nah, I don't think I like this, I'm not the zombie fan, and it's just about smashing zombie heads in, looks pretty lame to me...', I just wondered about it as it's so big and everyone seems to like it, so I was curious where the fascination is. That time I didn't get the point. BUT then I really took the time, as one of our channels here started the whole thing from season 1 again to get the 5th one added in the end as the new season around Halloween last year. And I have to say, I got addicted after the first season was through...I watched every night all the episodes from season 1 until the end of season 5. In my opinion it's basically a show you just can't get hooked on by only one episode somewhere in the middle, you have to watch it from the beginning to understand and possibly like it. Can be quite exhausting as well, so I understand if people dislike it, but now I also get the reasons why people like it so much.
  18. I've recently re-watched 'God's Army' (I think the american title is 'The Prophecy'...?), which came back into my mind since I started watching 'Supernatural' (The TV-Show). Love Christopher Walkens acting, he's always playing so weird, scary and funny stuff, it's just cool. Did you know Viggo Mortensen plays Lucifer in the first film (There's a couple of sequels...) ? Didn't actually recognize him before watching 'Lord of the rings', though I have seen 'Gods Army' before that...it's just like I've seen Martin Freeman in other films before, but didn't realize before 'the Hobbit'.
  19. When I was little (and growing up...), I loved stuff like Scarecrow & Mrs.King Highway to heaven Magnum,P.I. Simon & Simon Riptide The Fall guy MacGyver Knight Rider Miami Vice Remington Steele Moonlighting 21,Jump street Twin Peaks.... :D later, after bit of a break watching television I started off again, watching Buffy & Angel, The X-Files, Xena:Warrior Princess, Forever Knight, The L-Word, Queer as folk, The Crow, Cybill... currently I am/was watching apart from Sherlock: NCIS (New Orleans and LA, too) Hawaii 5-0 The Walking Dead Hannibal Supernatural The X-Files again Sleepy Hollow Rizzoli & Isles Castle Sons of Anarchy 2 Broke Girls Californication Being Human (UK)
  20. I am now through with all three seasons, and I have to say that season 2 is the heaviest to digest, according to all the horrible murders, especially as there are some that involve animals. I am very sensitive when it comes to hurting animals, I always have to tell myself: 'it's just a film, there's no real animals, they are all fake, they did not hurt them for real...' (the same I do everytime when I watch The Walking Dead...I love the show, but I can't get used to them eating any animal that comes their way, even though it's more a necissity in that show as it's the apocalypse, and not like for the 'gourmet cuisine' like in Hannibal) At the same time the creativity of the murders is fascinating, and I wondered how more gruesome can it actually get...? Already wondered after season 2 if the season 3 then comes with Free Sick Bag in a Special Edition. I love the fact that Will is taking in stray dogs, I always love the scenes that show him with the dogs. The third season is very interesting, as Gillian Anderson plays a major part this time, and Richard Armitage comes in as Francis Dollarhyde. The latter I still remember a bit from the film Red Dragon where Ralph Fiennes plays the role. And I think Mads Mikkelsen was a very good choice as Hannibal, it's pretty big footsteps he's stepping in after Anthony Hopkins, and he managed so well.
  21. This looks awesome :D Is it this one? -> https://www.elbenwald.de/Sherlock/Sherlock-Actionfigur-p.html
  22. I recently found out we will finally have a German Comic Con now also in Berlin , I would not mind if any of the Sherlock cast would drop by if they found any time for it... www.germancomiccon.de - first up we got James Marsters (Buffffyyyyy! Yay! ) confirmed, which is already worth going, but hey...there's still lots of space in our fan-hearts here, and time to confirm guests - especially for more favourites
  23. Yup, the computer thing is still annoying, I hope it will be solved soon - at least I know now that the new internet thing is something that still will need some time, because the house isn't able to deal with it (old stuff down in the basement doesn't work with new connections and stuff...), but still stress with my own (pretty old) PC nonetheless. :( Maybe I should have still waited a bit with the signing in here (or doing it earlier! ;) ), cause I like really hanging out here and can't do now as much as I would like to... :comp: Yes, you should see Deadpool, it's funny and worth it!
  24. Yesterday as I saw 'Deadpool' in the cinema (which I first was not sure if I would like it as I didn't actually see Ryan Reynolds in any (for me) convincing role yet I'm afraid....but this time it was really the deal for him in my opinion, been perfect in the part, so thumbs up! Also, it's rather a film of the Marvel Universe that is not really connected with such as the Avengers apart from the - I guess junkyard- helicarrier in the end, but rather X-men, just more like the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' is related with the Avengers, according to the soundtrack and weird outfits ), I also saw the first trailer for 'Civil War'. I watched out for Martin, but no, no glimpse of him :( . I saw the first two Captain America films, not because Cap is my fave (which he is not, I am rather a fan of the Black Widow and Hawkeye; Iron Man is fun like the Hulk is too (but only the Mark Ruffalo-one, Edward Norton is kinda not the best choice as Marvel hero, I liked him more in films such as 'Fight Club' or 'Red Dragon'), and who does not love Loki? :P ), but because its part of the Avengers films and it has Scarlett Johannson in it - so I am very pleased to hear that Martin Freeman makes the third one an even more interesting film to look forward to...and I will see it in the theatre, I just watched the others on DVD. And I agree, I don't really care who he plays, the main thing is THAT he is in it. haha....(and the idea of him as Captain America is hilarious :lol2: ) Also, as the discussion came up about Star Trek here, too - actually I saw a couple of Star Trek films before (funny I thought that the best was the one that was about Khan, because he was an interesting character, and I had to laugh when I saw the new version of him, because the 'old' Khan looked so ridiculous, especially the hair!!! and Benedict looking so...well, erm...gooood as Khan, haha... ) and liked the Voyager-Universe, but I have been one of the people who wanted to see it because Benedict is in it :P - and like it is with those things I go watch because certain actors are in it - I am looking now forward to the next one that comes out in summer, despite he is not in it. Theres lots of other fun characters though, like Bones and Scotty, so it might be entertaining, at least after seeing the trailer...
  25. I really like that I can watch those both Sherlock-Versions totally unrelated to each other. I never compare the Elementary-Sherlock with the BBC-one. And that there is so little actually that can be compared, so I would not start thinking about it. I also like the idea of Watson being a woman, I like Lucy Liu a lot, so in my opinion she was a good choice. I have the suspicion though that I would confuse things if the shows would run both on the same channel and if the BBC Sherlock would be around the same time as 'american' Sherlock  ...the difference is for me though - despite there is so few of it and it takes so long to get new episodes (or maybe because, as I am a rather slow person myself) it's easier to jump in the story of the BBC Sherlock, to kinda get lost in it and its universe. The Elementary thing is rather more something I watch 'from the outside', if you know what I mean.
