  1. Hello! I couldn't resist reading this thread, and I am very interested in Jeremy Brett (Not-BBC Sherlock Holmes). But, do you know where I can find those Sherlock Holmes series? And, where did you watch them in the first place? I am very eager to know. Get thee to Amazon.com!
  2. Do you have a link? Oh wait, I think I just saw it - on Jeremy's own Wikipedia page, about a fourth down on the left, captioned "Young Jeremy Brett." Is that the one? Very nice.
  3. But Henry had to see that it was "just a dog."
  4. Steven Moffat described both Benedict Cumberbatch and Lara Pulver once as "exotic creatures."
  5. Okay, that was actually pretty easy. It had Deviant 3 with a check beside it and just below it was Deviant 3 (No Snow) and I selected it and Voila! Yay! Thanks for holding my hand, everybody!
  6. Sorry, no, it doesn't. Beside "Change Theme" is "Mark Community Read" and then "Help" (all links). I guess I'd have to actually click on "Change Theme" to find out what I have. Sigh. I don't know if I want to do that or not. I'll worry about it later. Two hours of Amazing Race coming up in 10 minutes!
  7. No idea. How would I know that? Is there something that would tell me that? The background is black, or at least really dark blue. What's that called?
  8. What if I like exactly what I have but I want no snow?
  9. A nice old-fashioned desktop PC. Fudge! Really? Maybe I'll give it a try. Shoot, shoot, shoot.
  10. The last time I tried to change something I messed up. I'm staying where I am, thank you, even if I have to put up with the snow.
  11. It's May 18th. Is it maybe time for the snow to stop?
  12. True. That really did look like a hero fantasy.
  13. I just completed a binge-watch of my Basil Rathbone collection, and I have to brag on it. It is THE collection to have! https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Sherlock-Holmes-Collection/dp/B000EXZFRQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1488565277&sr=1-1&keywords=basil+rathbone+sherlock+holmes+collection All 14 films are here. The 12 Universal films have been restored and remastered, and are really beautiful. Six of the films have commentaries, all of which are great. I've had mine for years (the cover art is a bit different), and I'm pretty sure I paid more. I can't believe this price, only $55.38! That's a steal for all this. Seriously, folks, for a real Rathbone fan, this is a treasure.
  14. I think my main complaint with this episode is the title itself. It's the first time they lifted a title whole from ACD without giving it a little tweak like they usually do (a la "A Study in Pink"). I admit, that offends me. This "The Final Problem" is, of course, nowhere close to ACD's "The Final Problem," and I guess I feel badly for him. To me, this is classic literature. Would someone take "Hamlet" and do something entirely different? Okay, go ahead and hammer me. But this is my take on it.
  15. Yep. He was the best. With all respect to Basil Rathbone. I feel a re-watch urge coming on for both collections.
  16. To answer your question, J.P. - yes, there's a Granada/Jeremy Brett episode in which Holmes and Moriarty go into the Reichenbach Falls. (They don't 'jump.') It's called "The Final Problem." It's not the last of the Granada series. If you're familiar at all with the original stories, this story was not the last. The episode is really, really good! By the way, this episode fortunately starred David Burke as Dr. Watson. After that, Edward Hardwicke assumed the role. He was very good, but Burke was my favorite.
  17. Wouldn't it be awesome if Sophie played Lewis' wife?
  18. No surprise I misunderstood. I have a long history of sticking my foot in my mouth. I will withdraw now.
  19. I was under the impression she'd arrived in a cab but had dismissed it. Did I dream that?
  20. Eight wrong. Some of those questions were really tough! And Uhura. I'm pleased too.
  21. I see. I love the disc-through-the-mail service. My plan is one-at-a-time, but there are plans where you can get two or more, which is great for a family. You set up a queue (list) and as soon as you send one back they send the next one in your queue. Maybe it's a US only thing.
  22. Netflix isn't streaming only. They also have a plan where you rent discs through the mail. (Many more titles available than streaming, btw.) I know this wasn't the subject, just wanted to set the record straight.
