  1. Shut the front door! Arcadia, you sly fox, you've done gone and figured it out!
  2. And because she's insane.
  3. He's more than a friend, he's family.
  4. No idea. Adler isn't even mentioned in The Greek Interpreter. The Greek Interpreter does feature the story of a lady and her brother. Some criminals want the lady's property but her brother refuses to sign off the papers and eventually the criminals kill her brothers. By the end of the story, the criminals escape into another country but there comes news of their deaths. The official reports say they died fighting each other but Holmes chooses to believe that it was actually the lady who killed them for revenge. Maybe Moffat is planning on replacing this lady with Irene Adler and doing some sort of backstory, family study etc of her. However I think it's more likely that Moffat just named the incorrect story or maybe the interviewer got something wrong. Okay, thanks. I really hope I don't ever see anything connecting her and anything remotely based on The Greek Interpreter. That would really be stretching things. I'm afraid my eyes would roll. Besides, didn't they already have a "Geek Interpreter" reference? ;) Yes you are correct. You know that BBC created John's blog to tie-in with the universe? According to it, The Greek Interpreter happened on 16 June 2011: http://www.johnwatsonblog.co.uk/blog/16june However that doesn't Moffatiss won't contradict their own canon by doing another The Greek Interpreter in the future. You see John's blog also featured The Six Thatchers on 19 December 2011: http://www.johnwatsonblog.co.uk/blog/19december It's funny that we got another The Six Thatchers story set in 2015. It's funny that BBC stopped updating this blog after Season 3. I guess they realised Mofatiss were going to contradict themselves again and again so there's no point. I mean this blog was already in contradiction with the events in the show as some of the dates are wrong e.g. according to the blog, Sherlock was missing for one year but according to the show he was missing for two. It looks like Moffatiss don't plan out the details correctly and end up contradicting themselves as a result. Well, they're as attentive to these details as ACD was. Which means, not much. So I guess it's canonical.

  6. Someone help me out please - what's this 'Irene Adler element from The Greek Interpreter?
  7. Yes, there was more to it. Think about what case she brought him. Faith is a mirror of Sherlock. She is a person whose memory has been intentionally repressed and "corrupted". She remembers snippets of something - a traumatic secret about death hiding in plain sight, of which there are signs all around. It is a secret which caused her to isolate herself from others. Faith's "whole life turned on one word" - which is why Sherlock takes the case. He takes it because, as he says, 'one word, she instantly recognized, tore her world apart' - and he doesn't know how that is possible - yet'. Of course that is Sherlock - and the one word is "Redbeard". That is her purpose in bringing that case to him - to hold up that mirror to him. But it wasn't Faith, it was Euros who went to Sherlock. And the word was 'anyone,' wasn't it? I agree, though, that the real Faith's memory was intentionally repressed and corrupted. Which makes me wonder now, how could Euros know about 'anyone'? I know she'd been given the note, but was the word 'anyone' on the note?
  8. It's too bad people have rated/are rating TFP based on their initial knee-jerk reactions. Mine wasn't good either after the first viewing. Another factor is, who are these people? Casual viewers? If they are, then of course they wouldn't "get it." At least faithful Sherlock watchers would understand what was going on. Okay, yes, I'm a defender.
  9. From what I've heard and read, if they do continue, it will be in a totally different vein, lighter, doing cases, things like that. This 'arc' is complete.
  10. Not here. :(
  11. Unicorn - check Rainbow - check Glitter - wait, where's the glitter? ;)
  12. I wonder if maybe we should be looking at this one a different way. Maybe Eurus set up this puzzle the way she did because she wanted to see if Sherlock would be willing to sacrifice himself to save his friends? Because to me it was the obvious solution the moment the problem was stated. So obvious, it's surprising to me Eurus wouldn't think of it. But maybe she did; maybe that's why the tranquilizer darts were handy? I don't think she expected it. She looked pretty surprised to me. Remember she wrinkled her brow and said "No, no, no!" Although you're right about having the darts handy. It's a dichotomy.
  13. Yes, I'm really looking forward to the DVDs so I can go back and forth at leisure and slo-mo, whatever. And even use subtitles for T6T and TFP. TLD, of course, doesn't need them. It's probably the best episode as far as being able to understand every word.
  14. No apologies necessary, MU. I enjoy your rambling.
  15. I so totally agree. Moffat and Gatiss give us the credit to be able to fill in the gaps and make logical assumptions. I can't point to when and where, but I know they've said as much in interviews.
  16. What we do know about Mr. Holmes - he's the sane one.
  17. I don't know how to do a link, but here is the URL for a youtube video I found after checking out one above I think is great, an explanation of TFP by Deep Geek: Oh, apparently, all I have to do is copy and paste in the URL. Who knew?
  18. He really is a cutie. Perfect childhood reflection of Sherlock.
  19. I believe she returned to Sherrinford because that's where she had the most control. And she got her money from those she had control over at Sherrinford. And as for knowing her way around London, with her intellect, she figured it out.
  20. Boton, at least twice now you've talked about "all 10 episodes." Are you just ignoring these last three because you don't like them?
  21. Good writing?
  22. Re post #326: Obviously, Gatiss and Moffatt are exactly as attentive to these types of details as ACD was. Surelock, what is "TBH"?
  23. Watched it again this afternoon, and I just can't understand why so many dislike it so much. It makes me so sad for everyone involved.
  24. Re Surelock's post #247, I think it's one thing to see someone shot in the gut and quite another to see someone shoot themselves in the head.
