I think you can use any smiley you want to, Alice :toss::lol2::jedi::dad:

I like the idea of it being the default smiley - but we do have some wonderful custom ones on here :boing:

And when I say "in the Tardis" they'll have the console and the rest will be green screened in afterwards. I've been trying to meet Sylv for a while, as he's MY Doctor, but circumstances have conspired against me so far.

I know, but if you just type a smiley face, like colon parenthesis, you get

Not any more! :)

I was just wondering, does it matter if i just start watching Tom Baker episodes without having seen any episodes of the third, second and first doctor? And which doctor from the old series is the best according to you guys? I want to see the glamour of the classic doctor who  :D

I wouldn't say it really matters. The first Classic episode I watched was a Tom Baker one, The Talons of Weng Chiang. There's just so many I didn't know where to start, so I just dived in :D

My particular favorite Classic Doctor is the Third, he's such a dandy :D I can't really choose one and call them the best, they're all brilliant in their own unique ways.

One thing I mysteriously say, is that over Doctor Who's impressive 50 year tenure, there have been an amazing amount of actors who played this iconic character (with my thoughts on each one, how I saw them play them):

William Hartnell - slightly sharp tongue and no-nonsense attitude

Patrick Troughton - recorder and slight warmth

Jon Pertwee - Bessie and an Inverness cape

Tom Baker - Jelly Babies and wolfish grin and big brown eyes

Peter Davison - kind of innocence and a love of cricket

Colin Baker - waspishness

Sylvester McCoy - lovely voice and a twinkle in his eyes

Paul McCann - short-lived but sweet and kind

Christopher Eccleston - leather jacket and permanently brooding

David Tennant - gorgeous with a cheeky wink

Matt Smith - penchant for fish fingers dipped in custard and affection for Rory and Amy (and the way Amy loved her Raggedy Man)

Peter Capaldi - those eyes. I know of no other man who has made me completely fall down at his feet.

Your mentioning Peter Davison reminded me of something that was posted on Cracked a while ago.

I had the biggest crush on Peter Davison when he was in All Creatures Great and Small.

So two episodes in and what do we think of the new Doctor?

I like him, I like him a lot and think the series is in safe hands;  away from the "will they/won't they".

In Australia they are playing the series at the same time or just after it has been shown in the UK, so that means I have to get up at 4.00am Sunday morning to watch it, well I really don't have to, they also place onto their Iview to watch from 6.30am and it's shown on the Sunday night too at 7.30pm,  but I've stayed up for the last two episodes and might continue to do so.

Looking forward to Robin Hood next week.
